Awww Sloane :blowkiss: , you are too kind!:blushing:

I'm going to call Bekki today and ask her to put Sgt. Davis on the spot about getting Deanna in the NCMEC. I'm not sure if he's collecting from Amy too, I need to call her and ask.
It will be 17 years on the 22nd, but I am not sad. There is more being done for her now than there ever has been, so I can't help but be hopeful. You guys truly are my strength in all of this, your kind words and strong guidance have given me the courage I never had before. Someday, we will know the truth.

Hi Missie:blowkiss:. I missed your birthday--I'm sorry. Happy birthday just a bit late!

I will keep my fingers crossed that Bekki asking Sgt. Davis to put Deanna on to the NCMEC will prompt him to get it done. I am sorry I haven't been here as much lately, but I read every day. I have been working two jobs, so I have little time and energy lately. Thank you for keeping us posted!

So, how is your new home? Are you enjoying it?

Lion

I called Bekki last night and asked her to talk to Sgt.Davis about the NCMEC. I took your advice Sloane, and basically read it to her word for word. She said she will call me once they are done. They meet at 2:30 today!
The new house is going great! I just wish we had all the money for a fence, lol. Right now we have a temporary fence to let the dogs out to go potty. Hopefully within the next month we will have a real fence. The land behind our back yard has a longhorn and horses on it. Sometimes you can see them from our backyard. I love it! There is a small creek too, so yesterday we caught tadpoles. We will only keep them until they are frogs, then put them back near the creek-we just thought it would be neat to let our son see the growth process, lol.
LionRun-you be careful, don't wear yourself too thin. I completely understand sometimes you just "gotta do what ya gotta do", but as soon as you get the chance, take a break and relax!

Hi Missie
Happy belated birthday! Your home/land sound like a dream come true. My property is so small I can't even grow zucchini!!!

I have been following Deanna's story all along, and I am so glad to hear you have so much hope and that you aren't "sad". I can see how strong you are, and nothing is going to get in the way of you finding Deanna. I hope WS is the answer to all of your prayers.

Please let me know how i can help. I am in New York, but hey you never know!

MG

Thank You Mrs.G! Really, we don't have much "land" it's just a regular sized lot I think. The neighbors around us are the ones with the real land/ acreage, we just get to enjoy the surroundings.

Well, I just received a call from Bekki. Sgt.Davis was unexpectedly subpoenaed to Waco, so they wont be able to meet today. They are re-scheduled for next Tuesday

Hi Missie,

Thanks for keeping us posted on everything. I'm planning on making a montage video of missing children to put on YouTube - do you mind if I included Deanna in it? It would be a pic or two and some basic facts like her name, and where and when she disappeared. I'm trying to highlight cases that haven't gotten much attention.

Oh Gina M-bless your heart!:blowkiss: That would be great if Deanna could be in your montage. If you need me to email you pics let me know, just pm me.
Things aren't so good right now. I've been really sick, never got over that "cold" that started a month ago. I've been to the doctors and it's not a cold, thought maybe it was allergies, so I'm on meds for that but they aren't working so far. Today I just had to get out of the house so we decided to go to the flea market about 30 mins from here. On the way back our radiator blew, so we had to get a ride from a friend. (Thank God for the little blessings-like friends who will give you a ride at a moments notice). My husband is meeting the tow truck now to get it towed back here. The only vehicle's we have are the Durango and my husbands motorcycle-so now I have no way to get around. Things will get better, I'm sure. I'm just really frustrated right now. Sorry to take this so OT, just had to vent. My waaaah fest is over now,lol :boohoo:

Missie, I hope you feel better, and that your car gets fixed up soon!

About the pics...which one(s) do you think would be good to use? I downloaded the profile pic from the MySpace page, which I believe you said was the last picture taken of her. Are there any others from that time frame? Should I use one of the younger pics too? (I saw some on the MySpace page that I can download.) I just want to use ones that people will recognize if they have seen her.

Once Deanna gets listed in the NCMEC, will they do an age progression of her? I can always include that in a later video.

Today makes it 17 years that Deanna has been gone. I promised myself that I would not be sad so I'm just trying to stay occupied. I would really like to make her one of those fancy bulletins for myspace, but I am an absolute html dummy. I hope Sgt.Davis is able to meet with Bekki on Tuesday, and I hope she can gently encourage him to get her in the NCMEC. I don't know what else to do right now. The reporter from Killeen wrote and said they are still interested in her story but "some things are in limbo right now and it may be passed to another reporter". Not sure what that's all about.

Gina-the picture on her profile is the most recent. The other one on the bottom of her poster is the 2nd most recent that I have. I am so thankful that you are doing this!!

Bekki met with Sgt. Davis today. A lot of things were discussed, but he apparently brought the wrong dna kit with him:banghead: so we STILL don't have dna to start working on. Bekki asked him about the NCMEC and he said he thought he had put her on there:eek: . I don't want to say the mean things that are going through my head right now, but I think that him saying that is down right disrespectful. I have emailed him over and over asking him to put her on there!!
I know no one is perfect, including LE so I will pray tonight for God to give Sgt. Davis the guidance he needs in this case, and myself the patience and understanding I need.

Missie-
You were in my thoughts many times yest., wondering how the mtg. went w/ Sgt. D and Bekki--now I know. I am so sorry. This must be so frustrating to you to say the least. I'm frustrated for you!! I can never say, "I know how you feel," but I DO understand the frustration of finding something that you think should be so obvious to another person, esp. someone who is in a certain business for a living and thinking, "WHY didn't they think of that? HOW could they have missed that?!" Many times I am having to take a breath and keep my mouth shut over this issue or that. You just would have thought that he would have double-checked his notes before the mtg. and made sure he had what he needed. Did she have to drive a long way?

How is the car situation? I am glad to know that you have a good group of friends around that can assist if you need it. And it sounds like you were helping them out as well by assisting in their moves, when you had just moved in yourself! You are a sweet person, Missie, with strength and resolve beyond your years...

By the way, I LOVE your new quote in your sig. Anyone who has lost someone or suffered true heartache can empathize with that. It made me gasp! It is a good one.

take care,

Hi Sloane:blowkiss: . I was very frustrated to hear he brought the wrong kit. He drove to Bekki this time, about 50 miles away from Killeen. Next time she will drive there, that way we know he will have the kit, lol.

The truck,ummmm-yeah. Lets just say me and the kids have not gone anywhere since saturday.:bang: We ordered the radiator online, and it came in today-but it's the wrong one. We're done trying to be cheap skates now. We're just going to get a new one at full price (arm+leg) tomorrow. Just remember folks-you get what you pay for, lol!

I recieved an email from Sgt. Davis last night. I don't think I'm supposed to talk much about what he said, but he did say that he is in contact with the NCMEC. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to show up online after the missing person has been submitted?
I'm dying to go to Killeen to meet with Sgt.Davis, but right now I can't. It's so frustrating!

Hi Everyone! There are some serious red flags going up at Killeen PD. I can't say what is going on, but I feel like a *advertiser censored* for busting Sgt. Davis' chops. He's working pretty hard on her case this week. I wouldn't say it is going to be solved soon-but things are being done. He couldn't say too much, but this may become a murder case instead of a missing person case. I just hope all who were involved are still alive and can be brought to justice.

Missie, has the detective asked about getting DNA in codis? Sorry if this has been discussed. If she is UID somewhere, then if DNA is in codis it will hit.

Hi Missie...sorry I haven't participated much on this thread, but I have been reading when I can. Two weeks ago there was a double homicide in Killeen that shocked everyone. Two women were killed at the Dollar General off Stan Schleuter before the store opened. Also there were two other homicides last week. I don't know what's going on here! I don't think KPD is equipped to handle this.

yes, I've read about the murders, it really is sad. I saw the bad side of killeen from a very young age. Drugs have always been a big problem there, and my family was definitely a part of that. That is why i was so anxious to leave there once i was old enough to.

Missie,

I have sent you a couple of emails and have not heard back. With my workload, I cannot always come here and read all the threads.

It would appear, based on what you are saying here, that even though Davis was tight-lipped with me, he is taking action. That is wonderful.

Please do respond to my emails as soon as you can.

Thank you.
