They asked for a clearer definition of manslaughter and the Castle Doctrine. Of course the judge told them to rely on the instructions.

Ok. Thank you. The mention of the Castle Doctrine makes me feel a hung jury is more likely.

There are some who believe the right to shoot a certain type of person you think is in your home is more important than anything else. Including an innocent person's right to live.

This is the law, apparently, in TX. Killing someone by mistake needs to be protected from criminal consequences or their rights to protect themselves erode. That's my thinking about the attitude and why the law is written as it is.
 
Apparently in TX, yes. The way their law is written. Seems the judge's hands were somewhat tied. But it gives her an out IMO. I didn't realize that at first.
