Identity of boy found on beach still unknown

‘Galveston police were still searching for information Wednesday about the identity of a boy who was found dead on a seawall beach Friday in Galveston.

Investigators with the Galveston Police Department were awaiting a full autopsy report from the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office with his cause of death, Capt. Joshua Schirard said. That report is expected early next week, he said.

The agency is working with federal law enforcement to help expand the search for the boy’s identity nationwide and beyond our borders, Schirard said.

Working with federal agencies gives us the resources to push this search statewide, nationwide and outside of the country,” Schirard said.’

It took 20 yrs to identify baby Hope. Not one adult in the family picked up the phone. Including her mother. Baby Hopes sister reported her missing. She was a tot herself when her sister disappeared.
Her uncle was arrested for murder and rape.
Baby Hopes name is Angelica.

I also think his age is on the lower side of the estimate (no other experience than observation as a parent to 4 kids and aunty/godmother to several sweeties currently in this age range) from the sketch his nasal bridge is still quite flat and undeveloped while his cheeks still quite cherubic, by five the nose shape & cheekbones are usually more pronounced.

How awful :( I'm not familiar with Baby Hope. Will have to read up. Bella first came to my mind before I remembered Riley. That's too many already.

I was looking at the flow of the river from the bridge at Baytown through the bay to Galveston on Google this morning. It looks as if there’s a definite flow of fresh water stained with silt that spews out from the entrance of the bay into the Gulf. It seems to hug the coast for some distance, both west and east of the entrance so it might be possible that this little one went into the water somewhere north east/east of where he was found on the beach. That’s all I can figure out for now. Hopefully, my friend will give us more information about tides and currents in the days leading up to this little one’s discovery soon.

That was my thought as well. The fresh water would explain why he didn't sink. I wish we had more details on the cause of death. :-(

We’ll know early next week, according to Capt. Schirard. It’s good to know the Feds are involved in our little guy’s case.

Is it possible that he's Native American rather than Hispanic? The police have left his ethnicity a bit vague, so that might be an avenue to research.

I really don't know what I can do to help this little boy but I keep coming back here wanting to help and then leave with nothing :(

That’s a great idea, soda. I’ll go through the missing databases again tonight. I scanned through a few listings on Interpol this morning and noticed more missing little boys in the target age group:

https://www.interpol.int/notice/search/missing

(I couldn’t seem to alter the ‘Age’ slider though so it will take a while.)

I'm thinking this little guy is not on a missing-child list. The case reminds me of Bella in Boston - her mother put her in the water after Bella was killed. Bella was never reported missing, and the mother had a cover story that the child was with CPS.

Jmopinion, of course, not based on anything other than a hunch.

LE is distributing flyers to local hotels today.

This is great news, Lyssa. Also, thank you for going to the beach where our little guy was found the other day. It must have been difficult. Sending you a hug from Down Under x

Trying to remember...With Bella, did LE analyze tide patterns before or after she was identified?

Also, has LE released any information whether the boy appeared well cared for, etc?

Lots of police on horses at Stewart Beach - not sure if it's any relation to the case. Will update.

In a press conference when describing him they mentioned he was skinny, and they said it in a way that would lead one to believe that it could stem from malnourishment

So that confirms what a lot of us thought. I was wondering if their estimates were off because my daughter is shorter and the same Weight, and she’s not yet 3, but quite thin. I wouldn’t quite call her skinny, but she’s not his height either.

Taking his height into consideration I think he was underweight - especially if it's possible he could be as old as 5. I'm thinking he was between 2 - 3 years old - something about that little face just makes me think he was still a baby.
