Was she found alive?!? I can't find anything about that online. TIA.
Jazmiry is still missing on some sites but links on facebook that dont work that suggest she was found as well, but because the links dont work - I am not 100% sure

- Between 14 and 24; likeliest 15-17 (link http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...fs-Me-TShirt-Oct-12-2&p=12124138#post12124138 http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...fs-Me-TShirt-Oct-12-2&p=12124136#post12124136 )

- List as black or White on DN. However, I would not rule out Hispanic because she has also quite a Latina-like appearance FWIW.

- Maybe I jump on fast, but «Growth-arrest lines in her thigh bones indicate she may have been malmourished or suffered illness as a child. She had 22 ribs instead of 24. Asymmetry to her skull that may have been visible in her face and may indicate an illness or syndrome.» screams rare disease for me.
Because «malnourished as a child» is not incompatible with «suffered illness as a child» : failure to thrive is a symptome belonging to a handful list of genetic syndromes (Silver-Russell syndrome comes to my mind, but there are others and I’m way too lazy to browse on Orphanet).
22 ribs instead of 24 is consistent with a rare disease, but can also be a variable of normalcy.
Asymmetry to her skull possibly visible on her face + osteopenia + dental issues increase the likeliness for a rare disease. Taken together, these findings scream rare disease for me. And rare disease is not limited to Caucasian folks : let not jump too quickly on « malnourished, so she must had been abused*» because of the race. A lot has been written on the racial bias when it comes to childhood abuse and the likeliness of abuse misdiagnosis (when the actual diagnosis is rare disease) for people of color that we shall make the same mistake.
Did LE check about a rare disease ? That would help for ID, as it narrows down the potential list of persons.

- Malnourished as a child could be also a sign of a childhood eating disorder, or at least mental illness. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the child was abused by parent.
Parental abuse is one factor, but not the only factor of MI.
MI is multifactorial : the best parental rearing doesn’t prevent from having mental illness. Suicide is one of the most severe complication of MI, and even 4yo children with severe MI can be suicidal.
As COD is undetermined, we must keep an open mind about COD.

- the bone findings make me think that she might had been as young as 12yo.

How about

Carlee Morse

Pros : height and weight, age, hair color, nose bridge
Cons : circumstances, straight hair, distance, time lag

Marisol Espinosa
LKA Dec 1st, 2010, 16yo
58in for 110lbs
Circumstances : Marisol was last seen on December 1, 2010.
Pros : age, hair color and texture, thin building
Cons : height, distance, time lag

Ofra Zamorano Wichar
LKA Aug 22, 2011, 22yo
62 to 65in for 130 to 145lbs
Circumstances : Last seen crossing the U.S.-Mexico border near Sasabe.
Pros : age, circumstances, hair color and texture, thin build, height
Cons : weight

Cindy Rivera
LKA June 30, 2012, 19yo
61in for 135lbs
Circumstances : Cindy Rivera was last seen in Las Vegas, New Mexico on June 30, 2012.
Pros: age, height, thin build (although weight seems off in numbers)

Aside the distance, it seems my likeliest match

Your thoughts ?

I have done a search in the thread and could not locate the following suggestion:

Janie Gutierrez - https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/17664/

gutierrez_janie.jpg
gutierrez_janie1.jpg
1312UFTX3_LARGE.jpg

Image 1 is across multiple sites. Second image is from http://www.nampn.org/cases/gutierrez_janie.html - The second image resembles the recon by CarlK, imo.

Last seen November 9, 2009 - Age 18-21*(see note below) when last seen, so she would fall in the upper range of some suggested ages at ~21-24 in September 2012.
*Note - not sure why the age is debatable on NamUS as various websites indicate that she was a US Army medic, so I would think they would have reliable info. nampn link above shows DOB as 12/7/1988, which would set her at 23 years of age when Smurfette estimated DoD.

Here is the matching info that leads me to possibility:
JG Missing from San Antonio, TX
JG height - 58"-60" (Smurfette - 55"-63" per doenetwork)
JG weight - ~102 lbs (S - was wearing size 5 pants =~26" waist which could be ~100lbs female at that height)
JG hair - light brown though pictures indicate a darker brown with perhaps some reddish hue that is wavy (S - wavy to curly very dark brown)
JG - Female military member with shoulder length and longer hair would certainly be familiar with bobby pins, as found with S.

Questionable connections/issues:
Surgical scar indicated on JG knee - connected to skeletal malformation indicated on Smurfette?
Would Smurfette have been able to enlist in military with the skeletal issues?
JG indicated as having four bikini-line tattoos (no specifics that I located) - would they have been visible based on amount of decomposition?

If I hadn't come across the second photo shown above I would have been very hesitant, but the look in the second image makes her look very similar to the reconstruction.

Janie is one of the few people we've suggested who seems to have the very thin nose.

My daughter's name is Riana (pronounced similiarly to Briana - in fact most folks try to call her the latter and she has to constantly correct them so she goes by her middle name instead!). With smurfettes age, Riana was becoming a popular name when she was born, it's possible her name could have actually been Riana (or alternate spelling of Rhiana, Rhianna, Rhiannon,Reana). Im still fairly new to the site, where would I go to search missing persons for this name? I'd love to bring closure to us all with Smurfette as she was found so near me and it's just so incredibly sad. If no one else is missing her (for example, her own family) I know everyone on this thread cares for her!

Hi AlwaysHopeToHelp,

You could search NamUs. Or NCMEC (children only).

Ok guys, probably a long shot.

With the osteopenia, malnourishment, skeletal malformations, could she have had a medical follow-up in a pediatric Mexican hospital ? Or even a US hospital ?
Because the symptoms can also be consistent with childhood kidney disease.

In such case, did LE have a look at the Mexican & US pediatric nephrology wards to see if she was a patient there ? https://www.texaschildrens.org/

I know, it's a long shot !!

No, no and triple no.

Her malnutrition and bad teeth are also disqualifying.

I am not sure of this one. If Smurfette's recon is accurate, Yesica's eyes are way too big for being Smurfette.

I don't put too much stock in ages & eyes, as :
1) skeletal remains' age estimate can easily be way off
2) when you look at maches, you can easily realize that height can be a 8in difference. Unless MP's medical records specify a height measurement to the doctor, family often guesstimate heigh & weight, thus the difference.
Skeletal remains' size are more often than not estimated. And a dead body is smaller than a living person.

This may be a huge stretch but I saw a news story today about the Mexican Government exhuming mass graves near the border in an effort to identify/find the missing. The news interviewed a woman who was looking for her 13 year old daughter, an American citizen, who went missing in 2012. Supposedly, the daughter was on a trip to Mexico with her Uncle and cousins and they all went missing. She held up a brief missing poster with an image of her daughter in the video: http://www.krgv.com/story/38000711/...housands-of-victims-of-violence-in-tamaulipas

The girl's name is Milynali Piña Perez. I went looking for a clearer picture of her and found this: https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...1073741994.133755070002450&refid=13&__tn__=+>
https://twitter.com/AngelaCedeno_PI/status/910988303255707648

Those links say she was abducted by the Zeta's in August 2012 and may have been trafficked. It may seem unlikely, but her pictures immediately made me think of this Jane Doe. Milynali was American so it would be easy to traffic her back into the US (IMO). I also wondered if perhaps she never made it to Mexico but stayed in the US. I don't read or speak Spanish so I had a hard time finding more info on why they think she was abducted by the Zetas. Not sure if this is a wild goose chase but figured I would share it here and see what you all think.

(I haven't got a clue how to go about submitting this or finding out more info in English so if someone wants to pick up the ball and run with it, please go ahead).

I dont think it is a long shot.

By developing country standards, Mexico is a wealthy nation. As such, even a poor Mexican child with various physical disabilities or illnesses could well have been screened for treatment at some point in the past. (of course, the treatment offered by Mexican charities or the Mexican government would not be on par with say, The Mayo Clinic or Johns Hopkins).

Even still, I think there is a pretty good chance that a Mexican citizen would have been screened and offered at least basic treatment. That goes double for an American citizen.

Whoa. Good find.

Link to a missing person poster in Spanish: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DKR7BtfWAAA7Z4B.jpg

According to the Facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1637512576293351&substory_index=0&id=133755070002450) Milynali is 5'1" and 92 pounds, about the same size as Smurfette. Her hair is dark and curly, also a match.

Side by side with one of the photos from the poster (click to enlarge, if necessary):
