One of the links earlier today mentioned that the cause of death was withheld because it is important to the investigation. I don't know what that means.
@otto, it is interesting that COD is being withheld. Heaven knows what else we will find out as time passes. Did Williams assault Michelle? I hope it does not take years to get to trial.

I hope it doesn't take years to get to trial too. Does anyone know if LE has recovered the truck and RV? What is the process for getting property like that, especially when it's needed in the investigation, back to the US? What a mess for this poor family...

There are days when I wonder about the quality of journalism in this country. This is the headline from the The Washington Post. Wow! Oversimplified.
A couple was found buried on a Texas beach. Police caught someone else driving their car.

Just going to drop this map here for reference
@truetexan. thank you for posting the local map.
The Butlers bought riding apparel for their granddaughter at Cavender's for her birthday and mailed it on the 15th IIRC.
I am confused about the truck and RV parked at the Weber Bingo. Was this the rig owned by the Butlers? If it was the Butler rig, how did Williams get it?
How did Williams know to cross at Eagle Pass which is much more obscure than other border crossings?

I believe the Butler's vehicles were on the beach, and the camper was picked up on Oct 19.

I'm pretty sure that the vehicles at the Bingo Hall belonged to the suspects. The truck and trailer were reported as abandoned on Oct 17, 18 and 19 and were towed on the 19th.

So, according to the timeline, they could have been killed as early as the 14th or 15th. It sounds like as soon as they checked out of the campground, they were immediately in danger. So, the campground that Williams checked into with his raggedy camper...was that the same campground the Butlers were in first? Somehow I've missed that info.

The RV and Chevy truck at the bingo lot believed to be that of Williams.

The victims checked out of the Padre Balli RV Park on Oct 15. At noon on Oct 15 the couple posted to Facebook that they had checked into Burner Beach, South of the RV Park. They included photos of setting up camp. They indicated that it would be their new home for a week or two.

A text message was sent on Oct 16 from one of the victim's phones, but there's no confirmation that it was from the victims.

The suspects were 12 miles South of Padre Balli RV Park on Oct 13. The victims were 3 miles South of Padre Balli RV Park on Oct 15.

That means they were murdered either on the 15th or 16th.

On Oct 15, the Butlers mailed a birthday present from Flour Bluff PO to their granddaughter.
On Oct 16, James spoke with his sister about selling their house in Rumney. New Hampshire couple found buried on Texas beach near campsite - ABC17NEWS

Based on this information, the earliest they were murdered was 16th.

True. The family has always made statements that something most likely happened to Michelle and James between Oct 16 (last conversation) and Oct 17 (supposed to FaceTime granddaughter).

Finding Michelle & James Butler

As much as I hate to think it let alone type I feel that their deaths were much worse than a gun shot. I wish I could rid myself of this gut feeling. Praying I am wrong.
@Bravo, I certainly understand how you feel. After following another horrible crime on WS, I came to realize that the depravity of mankind is beyond what I want to comprehend.

So the Butlers were at the RV Park, and the suspects probably couldn't pay to park there, or their vehicles were too run down to be part of the community?

Where do you think they might have first met? I thought it was at the campground, but if the female suspect registered the Butler's vehicles at the campground, that suggests that the suspects had the vehicles on the day the Butlers arrived on the beach.

Did the Butlers play Bingo?

i don't think they registered the butler's vehicles. i first read they had a Tacoma but now I'm reading they had a grey older chevy Silverado.
