James Moore’s family said they have no idea what lead to their son’s disappearance.

A co-worker told investigators Moore walked out of his bunk at Flare Energy Services with a gun to go for a walk at 5 a.m. two Saturday’s ago.

More than a week later, there’s still no sign of him.

Since then, Moore’s family from Houston has been in Monahans handing out flyers looking for answers.

Moore came to Monahans only a few months ago to work in the oilfields.

A few days before he went missing, Moore texted his mother Quinta telling her about how well work was going.

“He was excited about getting this good check,” she said. “He was going to get a cash car and he was just letting his mom know his excitement about that.”

But then communication stopped.

The family said James Moore is 6’4”.

He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black sweatpants and white sneakers.

He also has three star tattoos behind his right ear.

Here's an article with a pic of James. He looks young.

Going walking at 4 or 5 a.m. makes no sense, especially if it's part of the "off" block of days. Reinterview his bunkmates and rig crew. Hwy 18 is going to have good oilfield traffic. 6'4" is memorable. Dangerous road. Hinky meter going off on this one. Prayers for the family.

I agree!! No way he went for a walk at 4-5am it’s a different pitch black dark out here there’s never any stars even out. These guys work 80+ hours a week! At first it was he was last seen on the 5th around 9:30 pm then it changed to the 6th 4-5 am and the gun thing was only reported by news west 9 not any of the local law enforcement pages stated that in their posts but to me it looks like that was thrown in to make him seem mental unstable to get heat off themselves. This is the second one to go missing in a little over a year and a half both with in 5 miles from each other. Honestly it’s so dark right where he walked away from how would someone even be able to see him walking away with a gun? He was sopposed to of walked north so his back should of been to that co worker

FIRST ON CBS7: Ward County Sheriff tells James Moore's family human remains have been found; No confirmation it's Moore

The stepfather of James Moore, who went missing in Monahans two weeks ago tomorrow, tells CBS7 exclusively that the Ward County Sheriff told him human remains have been found.

There’s no confirmation yet that it's Moore, however.

A co-worker told investigators Moore walked out of his bunk at Flare Energy Services with a gun to go for a walk at 5 a.m. on October 5.

Moore’s family from Houston traveled to Monahans this week to hand out flyers with his picture and information.
