This was the seventh major search in ten months:

"I started the day hoping we would find him. We're getting closer to the end of the day and it's looking like no. So, day 307 and counting," Landry said."

[...]

"The search turned up bones, but none have been confirmed to be human remains. Hohnstreiter said they most likely belong to cattle. As the search continues more drone images could help TEXSAR narrow down where they need to be looking."

[...]

"TEXSAR has covered more than 1,300 miles of ground adding hundreds more on Saturday. If you have any information, you’re asked to call the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office."

10 months after his disappearance, Jason Landry's family still actively searching

From the video, PI believes a 3rd party may be involved. I don't see a third party leaving all of Jason's valuables behind -- including the weed. MOO

Has anyone found any MSM that says anything about a third party being involved? I took a quick stroll down Google Lane and didn't come up with anything. I'm wondering if the newscaster pulled that out of his.... hat. ;) It's just odd that he'd say something like that, yet I can't find any other source saying the same thing. Maybe it's just me and I'm not using the best terms for Google to give me what I'm looking for.

I would like to hear why the PI, presumably still the one with an FBI background, also thinks a third party was involved. Otherwise, I still think it's more likely they just haven't found him yet near the crash site. MOO

I've been following Jason's case since day one and don't recall any MSM citing third party involvement. Also not familiar with PI story. Did I miss a link here?

No, I don't think so, but the vid you linked to says 'a third party was involved'. Hence me trying to corroborate it anywhere but that video.

It was your post #19 (RBBM)that says: From the video, PI believes a 3rd party may be involved. I don't see a third party leaving all of Jason's valuables behind -- including the weed. MOO

So since the newscaster said that in the video, I've been trying to see if I could confirm it anywhere else since this too is the first I've heard of it. I can't find anything so as I said in my post... I think he pulled it out of his... hat.

To keep convos intact to make easier sense of things:

AFAIK that video is the only source. It may, or may not, have been information relayed from Kent Landry to the newscaster. It wouldn't be the first time information was embellished with regard to this case by MSM, if you remember the misleading "backpack filled with narcotics" report. To be fair, that was a different local news station than KXAN. But if the CCSO put a lot of stock in the PI's suggestions, they might not be doing the renewed search which was the main focus of the KXAN video and story.

Thanks @Curious_in_NC . I wondered if that was the case.

It's in this story. It's not as detailed in the transcript, but in the video around 1:50 they clearly state "private investigators believe a third party may have been involved"

I don’t have the ability to watch/listen to video at the moment. Is there any kind of synopsis of the interview or the credentials of the PI available?
Other than (perhaps) this PI's opinion, I don't recall any factual evidence of there having been a 3rd party involved shared throughout these thread either. I do hope that an opinion of a person of unknown credentials who is stating nothing more then some sort of gut feeling isn't going to derail this thread for several pages.
