There it is... (on your old and new post). I wonder if it just takes some time? Odd.... Thanks for doing that!

And Bah! at nothing new to report. I sure wish I knew why they decided to search there, of all places. There had to be some sort of info the were going off of.

I just kept thinking maybe they had a break in the case, some new credible lead from Peña’s work and Jason would be found. According to the CCSO missing person report, the area north of the crash site had already been extensively searched so I just kept thinking this is it.

I'm in total agreement with you. I too thought this had to be it to search again when they weren't going to without any credible info, etc.

Do you have any more info on the search site? Where exactly it is, who owns it, anything? TIA

"An organizer told KXAN the billboard is located along U.S. Highway 183 at 2023 N. Magnolia Ave., which is just north of Luling."

[...]

"The Landry family approved the design of the billboard, which includes two photos of him as well as a phone number for the Texas Attorney General Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit, if someone would like to pass along any tips."

Jason Landry: Billboard for missing student to be installed near Luling, Texas
If memory serves me correctly, the billboard location is the very intersection where JL was to turn right on Magnolia towards the I-10 interchange but instead proceeded through the intersection that led to Salt Flat Rd.

For 13 weeks or longer using funds from the Landry Facebook groups...

The Parents of Jason Landry approved the photos used on the billboard. What a handsome fellow with a kindred spirit!

He looks so much like my son in the 2nd picture. I just wish they could find him to bring some kind of closure for the family. They are hurting so much.

Jason possesses a pleasant facial expression. There's a statement on the new billboard that reads:

Last SUPPOSED Location

San Marcos/Luling

This is the first time I ever considered Jason never left San Marcos. Isn't that what the billboard message implies? That gives the case a whole new slant. Do they, the Family and PI, suspect Jason didn't drive his car down Salt Flat Rd bc somebody else did?
Do they suspect the clothing and other items in the road were staged?
Authorities did not treat his car as if it were a possible crime scene.

I think at some point, you just say maybe we've been completely wrong the whole time about the details of his disappearance, and reach out to witnesses who may have an entirely different idea of what happened to him but have been silent because they think it's not possible.

I've seen that happen in other missing persons cases. Where the family says even if your tip doesn't match ANY of the supposed information about the missing person, please call it in because you may be right.

Agree- when you have done all the logical things and don't get the result you expect, maybe the original premise was incorrect.

While it is probable that he wandered away and is concealed very near to that crash site (bodies are very difficult to locate), it is also entirely possible, and not so improbable, that they are looking in the wrong place. I am glad they have an open mind.

I remember in one of the earlier threads that it was said that (IIRC) some of the areas nearby were unable to be searched because it was private property - or perhaps just that it would be unwise to do so if someone searched alone. If true, does anyone know if this was ever remedied and these properties were searched? I imagine that there could be porches or sheds, basements, etc - where he could have tried to burrow, like we see in some of these cases. MOO

If someone abducted Jason then staged the car accident scene ... then they have to be respected for the detail and the drama of that site.
With the criticism on other sites of incompetent/ignorant local LEO and the corruption of the VFF it is highly unlikely that they could have staged such a complex scenario.
I still advocate for the simplest event: his father reported that Jason would drive thru a wall if his eMap led him there, he was in a comprised mood when he started driving per his friends video, the disorientation of driving on a gravel road in total darkness fatigued from the stress of finals.
Complex opinions want to remove responsibility from Jason. As adorable as Jason is he is still a college kid experimenting with drugs, musing about enlightenment.
He is a kid who made a mistake.

Definitely not my first time considering that. I've never been sure that it was Jason driving his car down SFR. With that said, I also never considered that he wasn't the one that drove his car from San Marco to Luling. I've wondered aloud in his threads multiple times that something might have happened around the park, where he missed the turn, or when he dropped the phone and when his digital footprint ended. I thought someone might have staged it from that point, but never once had I considered that he wasn't the one driving his car from San Marcos. Hmmmm.....
