I'm not seeing anything linked to your post, even though my alert said you attached a file. I wonder if it's just me that can't see it. Hmmmm.....I just saw this on the family’s fb page. Looks like there’s no news
I'm in total agreement with you. I too thought this had to be it to search again when they weren't going to without any credible info, etc.I just kept thinking maybe they had a break in the case, some new credible lead from Peña’s work and Jason would be found. According to the CCSO missing person report, the area north of the crash site had already been extensively searched so I just kept thinking this is it.
Thank you. Good to read data rather than opinion including my own.At this date, I think any professional searches might involve some forensic taphonomy (scatter pattern of human remains) taking into account that scavengers prefer unclothed remains in open environmental contexts.
The impact of scavenging: perspective from casework in forensic anthropology
If memory serves me correctly, the billboard location is the very intersection where JL was to turn right on Magnolia towards the I-10 interchange but instead proceeded through the intersection that led to Salt Flat Rd."An organizer told KXAN the billboard is located along U.S. Highway 183 at 2023 N. Magnolia Ave., which is just north of Luling."
[...]
"The Landry family approved the design of the billboard, which includes two photos of him as well as a phone number for the Texas Attorney General Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit, if someone would like to pass along any tips."

The Parents of Jason Landry approved the photos used on the billboard. What a handsome fellow with a kindred spirit!

I think at some point, you just say maybe we've been completely wrong the whole time about the details of his disappearance, and reach out to witnesses who may have an entirely different idea of what happened to him but have been silent because they think it's not possible.Jason possesses a pleasant facial expression. There's a statement on the new billboard that reads:
Last SUPPOSED Location
San Marcos/Luling
This is the first time I ever considered Jason never left San Marcos. Isn't that what the billboard message implies? That gives the case a whole new slant. Do they, the Family and PI, suspect Jason didn't drive his car down Salt Flat Rd bc somebody else did?
Do they suspect the clothing and other items in the road were staged?
Authorities did not treat his car as if it were a possible crime scene.

Agree- when you have done all the logical things and don't get the result you expect, maybe the original premise was incorrect.I think at some point, you just say maybe we've been completely wrong the whole time about the details of his disappearance, and reach out to witnesses who may have an entirely different idea of what happened to him but have been silent because they think it's not possible.
I've seen that happen in other missing persons cases. Where the family says even if your tip doesn't match ANY of the supposed information about the missing person, please call it in because you may be right.
Definitely not my first time considering that. I've never been sure that it was Jason driving his car down SFR. With that said, I also never considered that he wasn't the one that drove his car from San Marco to Luling. I've wondered aloud in his threads multiple times that something might have happened around the park, where he missed the turn, or when he dropped the phone and when his digital footprint ended. I thought someone might have staged it from that point, but never once had I considered that he wasn't the one driving his car from San Marcos. Hmmmm.....Jason possesses a pleasant facial expression.
