I have an updated description of the murderer of Jazmine Barnes from a confirmed eyewitness," King tweeted. "1) He wore glasses. 2) In his 40's 3) Beard was both black and white. Not shabby, but trimmed. 4) Not heavy set, less than 200 pounds, but had a belly."

I hope it’s a good sketch or is something good to go off of. I counted after I got off the hwy on my commute this morning on the east side of town. 29 red/maroon 4 door trucks in about 10 miles.

A community rally and public funeral service have been scheduled for seven-year-old Jazmine Barnes who was killed Sunday morning while riding in a car with her mom and sisters.

The community rally will be held Saturday, January 5 at noon in the Walmart parking lot at 5655 East Sam Houston Parkway, not far from where the shooting occurred.

A funeral service and balloon release will take place on Tuesday, January 8 at noon at the Green House International Church.

On Thursday, sources close to the family told KPRC2’s Brandon Walker that O’Neal and Houston Senior Police Officer Kenneth Miles dropped off a cashier’s check to cover the costs of Jazmine’s funeral, which is scheduled for noon Tuesday at Green House International Church on West Greens Road.

As the the search for Jazmine Barnes' killer intensifies, national activist Shaun King on Thursday upped the reward for finding the unidentified man to $100,000, and several celebrities have boosted awareness for the case on social media.

KPRC-TV reported that Houston police officer Kenneth Miles and Shaquille O' Neal are teaming up to pay for Barnes' funeral expense. And Actress Gabrielle Union has issued a call to catch the suspect on Twitter.

I wonder who gave the more detailed description? I'm wondering if there is a witness who saw him before he was in the truck... because how would you see his belly while he's in the truck?

I'm trying to picture this... it actually might give insight on the type of truck it was if one of the people in the car could see that much. It certainly couldn't be lifted, or a full size truck. There is no way you'd be able to see into it.

Unless he was hanging out of the truck, I'm thinking this might mean he had to be a smaller truck or a lowered truck. Because weren't the victims in an actual car/sedan?

So I’m possibly recalling a beltway shooter a few years back in Houston from my research on NOCO, let me see if I can find it for reference-I doubt there’s a relation, I thought the shooter was apprehended but let me double check)...so many nut jobs running around these days.

I can try and replicate this situation at home maybe the weekend, obviously not the shooting part but I can put my husband in the truck and have him reach across like he’s driving, i’ll sit in my son’s sedan and see what I can see with his windows rolled down. It can’t be too lifted or your right, you aren’t seeing anything. I’ve been along side lots of trucks when the sedan was mine that I’m only looking at tires.

Without knowing height, weight is going to be hard to tell unless he’s thin. My husband is 6’1 and wears his 230 pounds well. I can see fat or thin...but specifiying under 200 pounds? Now if he continued on someone on the road that was more eye to eye with him, they might have had better description. I’ll see what I can gauge while driving on the freeway. He had to have his windows down for them to see colors, people use really dark tints due to the sun around here is seems.

Those additional descriptions didn’t come from police so I don’t put 100% faith in them.

Another thing I noticed this morning counting red trucks, with the rain, that lower section of the truck can reflect a bit with it being wet, even without the chrome step. From my count this morning, not having the chrome would be less to choose from than having the chrome based on numbers.

Adding @ Forager ‘s incredible spreadsheet of vehicle shootings, it’s probably been a few years since it’s been updated, but a good reference. Has national incidents, as well as variables we can use a model as far as analyzing more about this incident (which window, direction, etc) and has a lot of similar examples (freeway, ramp, etc. ):

One last thing, this is another recent case of a mother and children who were shot in their vehicles. I’m still catching up there, but at this point it is unknown whether the case I’m linking below was targeted or random, but I have been posting there a lot in the past couple days about random vehicle shootings. While there’s a slim chance that there is any relation between the 2 cases, I do think it’s worthy of crosslinking these 2 threads just in case, due the possible MO/similarities of the victims, locations and time between these 2 incidents.

The teen and her mother described the suspect as a white man with blue eyes, a thin build and no beard. They say he "looked sick" with sunken cheekbones and a pale face. He was wearing a black hoodie

This makes me think the drugged up version again, doing meth all night and decided to go randomly shoot someone.

That begs the question can you tell a persons eye color from across the car? I could see a passenger hanging out a window, but at dawn on a rainy day through the cab of a vehicle?
