But the torch is different than actual fire, isn't it? There was no gasoline used, apparently, in this case.
I'm several pages behind in catching up...

But if I understand what's been presented by LE via the MSM, it sounds like acetylene torchs were used, which burn at a very high heat. Thus, if someone was conscious, it would be excrutiatingly painful. And with no accelerant used, the heat would be applied directly (like pointing a gun and shooting).

:(

I want to know if MN's neighbors were home that day, and what they saw and heard.

If they didn't hear screams, then poor sweet JF was either unconscious, already passed away, or gagged (gosh that was so hard to type).

:(

I have faith that JF was blessed with "going out of his body", so to speak. He transitioned into his spirit/soul essence, and did not suffer. :) And I don't think that is denial...I truly believe that.

I have to agree with those who have said (on this and other threads) that these cases seem to get worse and worse. Recently, the OH murders (unbelievably horrible), Zahra (ditto)...we all deserve support for getting involved (to whatever degree) and caring. :(

I bet they found twine in her home just like the twine on his body.

IMO

I bet they did too oceanblueeyes. They found human odor, and burn areas on M's rug or carpet and the torch. I bet the twine was found there too.

I am still shocked by M's inhumanity.

Everyone here knows how I felt when I saw the video with the roommate.
Not saying she had a hand in this horrific crime but I could not help there was something more there in her statements and mannerisms. She seemed defensive to me and not very close to the Mother. She said she had known MN for a year. UMMMM. I could go on but will stop.

Everyone have a most Blessed and Happy New Year. :grouphug:
Especially the innocent children.

It's almost midnight here in Pennsylvania and just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!:fireworks:

I dont think so. That will depend on the evidence LE has collected and imo they have plenty and it is all against Mona.

IMO

ITA OBE as with all cases that we discuss here at WS we only have what LE has chosen to release{or in some cases to "leak"}..but we don't get anything compared to the details that are laid out before a court of law...In fact Det. Miller, himself stated that there was alot that he would not go into for the media and the public, but when presented in court their many gruesome discoveries at MN's house, along with many more details of little Jonathan's remains will ALL BE LAID OUT AND PRESENTED IN COURT..it was in the presser yesterday that he stated such...

So, I wholeheartedly agree that the prosecution will not have a problem proving their case beyond A reasonable doubt when ALL OF THE EVIDENCE IS PRESENTED TO THE JURY...

Why would she leave some twine intact?

I really dont know. Maybe the twine found was some place she didnt burn. Wasnt it on his hands where she had tied him up? I bet she bound his feet up too but most likely the torch burned that twine up.

All I know it is one of the most heinous cases I have heard about.:furious:

IIRC, it has been reported that twine matching string used on JF was found in MN's home.

MOO :twocents:

Found this:

Investigators said they found burned carpet and twine—similar to material that was found with the body—in Nelson’s home, as well as other physical evidence in a trash can.

The twine could not have come in contact with the flame or it would have quickly burned at 6,000 degrees.

Welders are very use to spot welding very small areas. And with a cutting torch they can burn a very thin line. A lot of welding work is very intricate detailed work.

I bet she had been a welder for sometime.

IMO

Not to be graphic, but there is no way around it.

If you have ever cooked a roast that has been wrapped in twine it might give you a visual. If the heat from the torch was moving versus being held in place over the twine it would literally cook into the flesh as it opened up. The tissue is going to open and seep before the twine reaches burn point (unless you are holding the heat in a one spot and then it would of course burn like is being described.

I don't find it odd that portions of the twine are still on his body. If you google bound and burned bodies you will see the duct tape, rope and twine is generally present in varying degrees.

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope each of you have the best year ever. Peace, love, hope and good health to all of you.

I just had a wonderful surprise. My honey just called from Afghanistan to wish me a Happy New Year. I may cry. only a 2 minute phone call but it meant the world to me.

How wonderful sweetheart and God Bless you both.

graphic-----if the twine was placed on tightly prior to death and if our little man struggled against his bindings----some of the twine would go thru the epidermis and into the subcutaneous tissue. Binding this way---especially in the wrist area which is very boney and where the skin to subcu level is slight probaly resulted in some of the twine being preserved on Jonathan's body. The boney structure of the wrist would partially protect it from being destroyed.

I agree somewhat but 6,000 degrees is extremely hot. We are talking about a flame so hot that it will cut through thick metal. Even funeral homes do not cremate bodies at that high degree and iirc correctly even house fires don't reach to such extreme degrees.

I am sort of perplexed why she decided to use the welding torch for it is used to really make a fine cut most of the time. Of course she could have widened out her flame by adjusting the tip but still the entire thing is not only sadistic. barbaric but such a bizarre thing to do.

I don't think I have ever read about someone purposefully burning a body up using a welding torch.

IMO

Another idea. If the hands are tied behind the back then the twine should survive better even if the rest of the body is burned.

***GRAPHIC***

I am getting more horrible sickening thoughts on this.
Was she trying to do something like what happened to poor Zahra except with a torch? :tears:

Why would she leave some twine intact?

With a cutting torch MN could be precise in her cutting. She didn't need to get rid of the twine. The victim obviously hadn't died a natural death. MN wasn't thinking anybody would tie the deed to her. She is a grandmother of 5.

Happy New Year to all -- 49 minutes of so until it turns 2011 in Manitoba, Canada. I pray that this new year brings justice to all those who have been murdered, and brings answers to those who are seeking loved ones who are missing. I so wish that little Jonathan was here to see the new year. Instead, I pray that justice is brought down upon those who killed him, whether it be Mona acting alone or in concert with another. I also pray for protection for all the children and women in the world. Bless all of my friends at Websleuths as the work you do here is so necessary. xoxox :o)
