It's sicker than it ever was in my experience and I haven't looked yet, either.
DPD have been wholly honorable throughout this short investigation.
That guy today, asst chief took no pleasure in the words or facts he stated. I have the utmost respect for him, as a result.
BUT, 6k's marijuana- less.. 2.2lbs =1kg is not a substantive supply- that is what remained in his apartment.. have no clear idea of what was contained in the backpack they stole... whether marijuana or much harder drugs?
I cannot see a long trip for pot...
Well, they don't have the bag, but they do, most likely have knowledge of what it contained and they refrained from mentioning it at this time, a possibility, anyone??

They said 12 POUNDS found in apartment, along with 147 THC cartridges and cash. If the THC was pure, that is a LOT of money, as they are not cheap.

People on twitter of course are screaming frame up and he wouldn't do it while testifying. Um, Prosecutor and Merrit said he was their golden boy, he probably felt safer than ever dealing, having them on HIS side if anything happened.

I'm astounded that not even the slightest hint that this was drug related leaked from DPD until now.
Kudos to them, for that.
No easy task with 00's of 000's of 'alleged activists' giving them the worst kind of abuse I ever witnessed on social media and all MSM carrying Merrit's igniting dangerous rhetoric...
fEDs are involved now, in the chase for the 2 suspects.. I hope the Feds don't try to run the case because if they do we will remain forever in the dark.

Yeah, that must have been very difficult. They had this horrible false narrative out there, and didn’t defend themselves until they had all the facts.

The media, social media, and others ran wild with this.

Isn't driving a couple hours just for pot kind of odd? JMO

EBM..typo
The key word is probably pounds of marijuana, not ounces. JB had 12 pounds in his apartment making him the dealer. And JB would have been getting his product from even worse, violent traffickers up the distribution chain, imo.

Texas Penalties for Drug Possession: Marijuana, Cocaine & Meth
In Texas, 12 pounds of marijuana as possession is a felony with up to a $10,000 fine and 2-10 years in prison.

I think this is completely unrelated to that November shooting.

If the account is accurate (which I believe to be the case), JB fired first. If this was some sort of a hit, they probably wouldn’t have given him that opportunity.

Engage in illegal activity like this, and you make a lot of enemies, and put yourself in dangerous situations.

I also don't believe shooting death of JB directly related to last November shooting at club, but I do believe both involved drugs.

I think JB was targeted last November over something drug related-- such as JB encroaching on the unnamed suspects territory. This suspect has not been named, apprehended, or charged. Guy's got some powerful street cred. MOO

ETA: Also believe victim N Diggs killed last Nov caught a bullet intended for JB.

EXACTLY!
I thought he had a free pass to smoke weed on facebook and assumed he had a good working relationship with everybody 'downtown' which would have included protection.
It is , of course still within the realm of possibility that he was offered protection but declined the offer...

Trips to Vegas.
Wads of $s.
It never once even entered my mind as the slightest possibility that this was a drugs killing.

I never even once gave it the slightest of considerations.
Not for an instant.

I mean, I was even thinking he was using medical marijuana because his foot was sore, from the november shooting..

Writing was on the wall.
I would not entertain the thought of even giving it a glance.
God, I'm daft as a brush!!

I agree it's worth exploring.
There is a story here.

JB also testified he was previously convicted for possession. Definitely not a new game here...

When perusing JB's facebook a few days ago, I noticed a caption he posted on a selfie:

Ain’t got no ID but I got them Racks [n-word]

This made me search the net for the meaning of Racks. <g> I wasn't sure if that line was a rap lyric or just what, but I decided not to share it here.

So...this news today is no surprise to me (sadly).

Amber Guyger witness Joshua Brown was shot dead 'during a drug deal' | Daily Mail Online

  • Police said on Tuesday that Joshua Brown was allegedly killed by three Louisiana men who were trying to buy drugs from him
  • The 28-year-old was shot dead in Dallas last Friday just days after he testified during Amber Guyger's murder trial
  • Police said that despite speculation, Brown's killing was not tied in any way to him testifying at Guyger's trial and Dallas Police were not involved
  • Thaddeous Charles Green, 22, Michael Diaz Mitchell, 32, and Jacquerious Mitchell, 20, will also face capital murder charges over Brown's death
  • Only one of the men, Jacquerious, is currently in police custody
  • The other two suspects, Green and Michael Mitchell, remain on the run and are believed to be in Louisiana

Aw... don't be so hard on yourself. It's no longer speculation how JB supplemented his AirBnB managers income.

Three men came from Alexandria LA to buy drugs from JB. Confiscated 12 lbs of marijuana from JB Apt, along with 4000 cash and guns. Thaddeus Green Shot JB in an altercation in parking lot. The men took his backpack and gun. The three men are considered armed and dangerous. They believe the men are back in Louisiana.

It is simply untrue that DPD is involved in this. Leaders need to be mindful... . All from press conference.

Suspects are 3 black males, Mitchell 20, Mitchell 32 and Green 22.
I can't say I'm speechless in the least. Pretty much what I expected. I knew DPD had nothing to do with this. And I was pretty confident what this was all about. I feel so much lighter now that this seemed to be solved. If JB was making a drug deal, he allowed people to know his location. Nothing to do with AG trial. Much ado about nothing. Inciting ridiculous outrage for no reason. What a waste. JMO.

If violence and death against blacks by cop wasn't a real problem, there would be no need of the Merrits here in the U.S.A. There is a need, and advocates like him play a necessary role in delivering justice, however imperfectly they persue it.

Why he doesn't have a license to practice state law in Texas has been doing discussed and answered, whether or not to your satisfaction.

As for having to explain why it might be he doesn't feel a pressing need to fight for the civil rights of white peeps, I'll pass.
[/QUOTE]
I do believe we need advocates. However, (IMO) Merrit was not advocating in my eyes, only shamefully inciting with dangerously incorrect information.

It seems likely to me that the 3 traveled such a distance in order to buy a large quantity from JB that they would then cut and sell back home. DPD probably has a guess how much was involved and the nature of those drugs.
ITA with you.

And it really is standard procedure to obtain a SW for a victim's home imo. It's not a smear campaign but a necessity to find out who, why, how about the crime.

Dallas Police Arrest Suspect In Joshua Brown Capital Murder Case, Seek 2 Others

"... Police also executed a search warrant at Brown’s apartment where they confiscated 12 pounds of marijuana, 143 grams of THC, cartridges and $4,000 in cash. ..."

Maybe DPD can snare some higher ups now ?
So JB's death wasn't a total waste ?
I get it that he was living dangerously.

Sad for his family that he didn't pursue legit options in his life.
People are also murdered who are living law-abiding lives, but JB was an aggressor in this case and that has to be so difficult for his loved ones to deal with.
An added sorrow for them.
I wonder if anyone in his family had tried to warn him or if they knew what he was up to ?

Police said the three suspects in Brown's murder drove to meet him outside a Dallas apartment block last Friday night to buy drugs from him.

Green had allegedly been the one to contact Brown about the drugs but police said a physical altercation broke out between them when they met.

Jacquerious told investigators that he got out of the car when the fight broke out but he was shot in the chest by Brown.

He said Green retaliated and allegedly shot Brown twice in the lower body.

Police said the three men then fled the scene in their car.

Michael, who was the driver, allegedly dropped Green at an unknown location before rushing Jacquerious to hospital to be treated for his gunshot wound.

Police said Michael then also fled.

Green allegedly took Brown's backpack and gun from the scene of the shooting.

A search of Brown's apartment uncovered 12 pounds of marijuana and about $4,000 in cash, according to police.
