From the missingtrio.com website/funding link, it looks like they've only raised $990 of the $5,000 needed to bring up the submerged cars.

As sad as it is, money runs the world.

I really would like to see a copy of the handwriting! I have my reasons?

I don't understand why Ft worth wont bring them up , it should lie w the city!!!!, they could be stolen property , solve disappearances etc.!

There's a handful of cases I'm following where the MP and their car were never found, and because of finances, no one went looking for them in nearby bodies of water. The Sheltons are believed to be in a body of water but investigators can't afford to go searching for them, even in places along their last known route of travel, which is sad.

with a case this big , I'm shocked they wont fund it (why I'm shocked I dunno!)

I am shocked also...AND....I just discovered this case and in the past 3 days have read all the posts !! AGGHHHH...
OK..thoughts..first, why WOULDN'T they fund it and dive/dig in the water ..even if they didn't find the 3 girls, there might be someone down there that would bring closure to a family.
My hinky meter from the get go has been with TT... he just doesn't sit right with me, but then neither does Rachel's sister. Separate or together, one of them knows something.

Then, I continue reading and the security guard that said he "saw" girls with another guard had my brain buzzing. NOPE, retired, ex LE, left message with phone operator/secretary, then waited HOW MANY YEARS later to bring up again?? Another Hinky meter here !!!

I agree that is it unrealistic that LE in the great state of Texas is not willing to check out every lead. Even if they start with sending divers down to see what is there and reserve the decision on bringing wrecks up after they find whatever is there. I am beginning to think that there is some reason why LE does not want to investigate many of these missing cases. I would think that knowing there are submerged wrecks might be of concern to the EPA. Wondering how big this watery possible grave might be that it would be cost prohibitive all these years.

I would think just going down and getting the VIN # would be more helpful.

<modsnip> What is a Vin number?

"What is a Vin number?"

VIN = Vehicle Identification Number. Every motor vehicle to include car, truck and motorcycle has one.

Refresh my memory, is TT still alive? (I'm not convinced he was involved.)

Going to LE with a tip can be stressful—people worry that they'll become suspects by providing information—so I'm not surprised that the man waited so long to come forward a second time. After he called in the tip, he probably said to himself, "I did my part, now it's up to them to investigate."

VIN # works, too. What doesn't work for me is doing absolutely nothing when there is SOMETHING available to try! Shame on Texas in this one; and shame on any other state with the same status.

I agree , with this being one of the BIGGEST AND OLDEST cold case they have (other than the Ft. Worth strangler in the 70s and 80s which they also refuse to acknowledge) how expensive could a diver be ? (there are gators) but retrieving the VIN.s kinda makes ALL KINDS OF COMMON SENSE !

How far down do you think they are? Can an average person swim down there?

If I could dive I would do it! Couldn't someone set up a account to do this. WS doesn't endorse this it's just IMHO

I believe Rachel's brother did set up a account awhile back but it did not reach the hoped for goal.

By the way, I would dive down there too if it were feasible!
