Can someone please explain why they think those 3 cars in that specific lake may be tied to the girls’ disappearance? I see the second car came up today and is not the car they hoped for. So why that lake and why an Impala?

<modsnip - naming non POI as suspect> vehicle disappeared at the same time that the girls disappeared. <modsnip>. If he murdered the girls the day they disappeared and disposed of them inside a car the same day, Benbrook Lake would have high potential as a site.

There are many other options. Maybe he took the girls somewhere in order to force Rachel to get an abortion; maybe she knew that he was going to try to do that, and that's why she wanted people with her that day. Maybe Rachel died during a botched abortion performed inside <modsnip> car. Maybe the other girls were murdered because they were witnesses, and maybe the car was burned out and junked or abandoned because it had blood evidence in it. The girls could have been buried anywhere.

FWPD should be looking into who was performing illegal abortions back in 1973/1974 and whether <modsnip> can be connected to any of those people.

The white car looks to be a 72-76 Lincoln Continental Mark IV.
That would still have been a very valuable car in 1974. I can't see car thieves bothering to dump a stripped car the way that one was dumped. Maybe the owner put in a fraudulent theft claim on it, or maybe it is connected to a different murder or other serious crime. Even if it isn't <modsnip> car, I'd still like to know what's in the trunk.

View attachment 150975 I went down to the lake this afternoon just st as they were loading up the car. I did hear that the car did have a VIN, but what information they can get from that I do not know.
I haven’t been on websleuths for a few hours. The car is not connected to the case and no bodies were found?

It eliminates one possibility then. There's still a car that might be connected to this case, and had disappeared. The easier explanation has been eliminated. If it was burnt and/or abandoned somewhere else, it is hard to find.

Plus, it might not fit very well into the timeline for the day, for <modsnip> to disappear for a few hours then showed up at the bowling league. It needs a rethink..

I don’t think it was the car they were expecting. As far as any remains in the car, I don’t think they will know that until they get the car somewhere to really look in it. It was in the lake upside down and the roof was collapsed in.

We will have to wait and see if there is any connection.

Last time I checked, there is no button to "start a conversation" with FW Cat. So let's hope she will make contact soon:oops:

She has her 'wall' of information that is lots more than what we can find. Otherwise we will just have to content with re-reading all her past posts!

Thanks for the information. I haven’t been following this case for very long so was a bit lost especially since there seems to be a bit of a disconnect between what I read here <modsnip - discussing fb group>

Got to be devastating to those families. Get their hopes up only to be dashed again. Crap shoot that the last vehicle in the lake has anything to do with the case. FWPD was right so far. If the car theory was correct, it could’ve been crushed out or a myriad of other possibilities.

Sadly I wonder if the girls were simply put in the lake...after hearing all about visibility and the mud they would never be found.
I’ve read absolutely nothing indicating the the husband was ever very active in the search. Read he posted a $2000 reward for awhile but traded the car in for a truck couple of months after, sold out everything and left. <modsnip - not victim friendly>

It should've been quashed back when other family members wanted them brought up.

Mysteries1974- I can't find a thread for Dana Null in here. I would love to read more about her case. Is there a FB page for her?

Dana’s thread was removed after she was found at the request of the NCMEC. Her death was ruled accidental but we will never know if tags true.
