Or rather, the wheels and tyres could NOT be identified with the car or someone, so no need to send them to a watery grave.

That would be a deliberate decision by a rather stingy person!...
Maybe it would sink faster without tires

From 2/1975, Fort Worth Star Telegram.

This is the most sense I've seen anywhere in connection to this case. I'm a few days behind on this thread. But am wondering what kind of car/van/truck this man or any friends or family drove and whether he had access to a security guard uniform; like another job, etc. and whether any of those things were investigated at the time.

It eliminates one possibility then. There's still a car that might be connected to this case, and had disappeared. The easier explanation has been eliminated. If it was burnt and/or abandoned somewhere else, it is hard to find.

Plus, it might not fit very well into the timeline for the day, for <modsnip> to disappear for a few hours then showed up at the bowling league. It needs a rethink..
I dont know if it's TRUE, I read he traded it in on a truck. Don't know the source of this info though

just wondering out loud if its a possibility these sisters got in over their heads with lies and manipulation...like one upping each other constantly?

I don't mean to be disrespectful to rachels memory just interested in the sister true dynamic...warts and all.

I also am not impying D is responsible for her death but their connection is curious and to me holds some key component to what was really going on in their lives and there will be some of the puzzle pieces.

Did it ever occur to any of you that the brother knows more than any of you for sure and certain that he wants to discover if his sister and the girls are still in existence bodies are otherwise.
Please stop attacking someone you know little of and making statements that are not quite correct it is interesting to know that you do have a few mixed up facts Raven 9860 but those are not all accurate. What else have you heard?

No one is attacking him. We are just pointing out his well publicized track record which speaks for itself. If there are statements that are not quite correct then please give us the factual evidence to refute those statements. Everyone wants the truth. It is not easy to discern what is rumor and what is not after this many years.

Ahh I have a faint memory of that too! Perhaps the Oldsmobile that the girls were last seen in?

Also the sources (FW Cat and others) seemed to have said that he had access to a few cars. Somehow they knew one was missing.

I am not looking that up right now...

Seems as if they were desperate to get out of that home and would marry anyone to keep from going back.

Was this marriage arraigned between Cotton and Tommy for the cash for the garage?

He might know more than us,That don't change that he has to be the center of attention and has pushed outlandish theories even he admits were bogus.

The Murder of Carole Finkle

Admittedly off topic video recommendation (absolutely delete if necessary mods, it's Sunday here I wanted to make a casual post :D)

I just finished watching this and thought it was an interesting analysis of sisters, broken families, secrets and good investigative skills. Imagine if this sort of quick police work happened with the girls.

If anyone else has had their heads in the missing trio fate a lot lately, I thought this was really engaging and the heartbroken dad reminds me of Luke from Gilmore Girls.

IMO a family that has tried to confuse the situation even worse. The girls wouldn't have made a scene if the father or his friend ask them to go somewhere.

Somehow I missed these photos in fw-cat's 11/32017 post.

What's the story on these?

Speaking of outrageous stories...I read somewhere...recently...that FWPD has five boxes containing 18,000 documents. That's the entire case file. OK:
  1. IF each "document" is one single sheet of paper
  2. AND a ream of paper is 500 sheets
  3. 18,000 /500 = 36 reams of paper
  4. IF a case of paper contains 3 reams (15lbs.)
  5. The Single-page-document "theory" is 12 cases/boxes of blank paper, weighing 180 pounds.
  6. Those must be five HUGE boxes.
Yep. I'm back.

I can kinda believe that, whenever I move house the boxes feel that heavy! 36 lbs each!

Of course you would imagine a document probably has more than a page, with clips and even folders.

Thought I'd pop in I have not posted in a couple years but I kept following. <modsnip - discussing fb group> What I wondered about and forgive me if it was posted somewhere is What car are they looking for? The theory sounds feasable but it was like "ok we pulled up the first car, not it .may be the 2nd car. pull up second car , nope not it, can't get 3rd one till spring but we don't think it's it" WTH ? What car are they looking for?
