Many cases seem to have discrepencies, and sometimes it just comes down to communication issues or reporting errors, not actual discrepencies.

Huh-- travel where? I don't think there are any reports mom has traveled in the last 30 days since Lina missing. Today is one month anniversary.Question: did Lina's mother travel after her daughter disappeared?
They were not tourists on holiday -- the wife's parents were ill! And then they were nearly killed near the airport trying to return to USA.But to Afghanistan? I must be misunderstanding the current situation in that country. I was under the impression that would be a perilous trip, but apparently not.

Amateur opinion and speculation
Someone may have grabbed her for the jewelry. How horrific.More information albeit a bit confusing regarding Lina’s jewelry. From a FB post included in the article, it’s written by the family’s advocate:
2. After multiple questions about jewelry that Lina may have been wearing on the day she disappeared, I asked Riaz, Lina's father of her could share that info with me. He shared the photo with me and gave me permission to release the photo. So many good willed and helpful searchers need this information on their searches and others wanted to start looking in pawn shops. Riaz and his wife have multiple pictures on their phones of Lina and her brother, phones have been investigated by Law Enforcement.

An FBI dive team has ended its search for missing 3-year-old Lina Sardar Khil without finding any trace of the girl, authorities said Wednesday.
A spokesperson with the San Antonio Police Department told ABC News in a statement Wednesday afternoon that the "dive effort concluded without any conclusive findings" and police have now "broadened the grid" in the search for Lina.
[..]
Lina was last seen on Dec. 20 between 4:30 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. at a park on the 9400 block of Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio, according to police. The park is located near the family's home at the Villa Del Cabo apartment complex.

McManus said Tuesday Lina is still considered a missing person.
"Our Missing Person's Unit is working tirelessly at receiving leads and tips on little Lina's case," a spokesperson for SAPD told ABC News. "We will continue to follow every lead, no matter how small, until Lina is located."
[..]
Agent Justin Garris of the FBI's Justin San Antonio field office told reporters on Dec. 28 the investigation into Lina's disappearance is "aggressive," adding that the FBI has utilized its child abduction rapid deployment team, behavioral analysis unit, intelligence response teams and forensic examiners.

The Eagles Flight Advocacy & Outreach organization, a nonprofit in San Antonio, joined the search over the weekend with about 150 people from the Afghan community showing up.
"We can't sit still. We have to do something," Pamela Allen, CEO of Eagles Flight Advocacy and Outreach, told ABC News.
Allen said the group has been in touch with police and was actively searching surrounding areas that are points of interest in the case.
"Yesterday we had about 150 Afghani men and children come out and look for this baby," Allen said, adding that seeing the community come together has been "the most amazing thing."
[..]
Khil said at first they believed that their daughter could be with another Afghan family in the community but now they believe she may have been abducted.
[..]
"A lot of the Afghan refugees coming here, they only speak Pashto or Dari," he said, adding that this is one of the reasons many refugees "struggle to find work."
I hope Lina's family know how many of us are out here praying for them. I can't understand how this little girl disappeared without anyone on the playground noticing anything. The father of missing 3-year-old child Lina Khil answers some of the hardest question’s viewers are posting.
He tells us that he came to the US under an SIV visa after helping US troops in Afghanistan. He never imagined his child wouldn’t be safe in the safest country in the world, the United States.
We asked his wife for an interview, but it was declined due to their cultural and religious beliefs. The young mother is expecting another child and was in tears when we were invited into their home.

I'm no jewelry expert, but it doesn't look expensive to me. Maybe she just liked to dress up, as a lot of little girls do.I’m trying to work out in my mind what the circumstances were that she was outside playing with other children while she was well dressed with expensive jewelry on.
Maybe the jewelry wasn’t expensive?? Maybe they just got home from somewhere special?? But wasn’t dad at work? Does mom take kiddos out to somewhere special without dad?
In the article I linked (I was on my phone and it's a pain to cut and paste large chunks so I left some out) it said Lina was dressed up because she was going to an event with her family. She was probably playing with the kids until they had to leave.I’m trying to work out in my mind what the circumstances were that she was outside playing with other children while she was well dressed with expensive jewelry on.

IMO it's possible the earrings and bangles could be less expensive gold - 9k or 10k for example so no, not much value. I have an antique 9k child's bracelet that passed down through the family - silly if you ask me but kids jewelry is a thing in some families.I'm no jewelry expert, but it doesn't look expensive to me. If robbery was the motive though, there's no need to remove her from the scene (just grab it and take off). It's not as if she'd be able to fight back.IMO it's possible the earrings and bangles could be less expensive gold - 9k or 10k for example so no, not much value. But to someone who doesn't know jewelry or is looking for something to steal and sell for drugs it might be tempting.
My gut says Lina isn't a robbery victim but I won't completely exclude the possibility that a person, maybe a younger person, targeted her thinking they could score some money. I've even heard of cases of kids killing for designer running shoes so who knows? It's just not at the top of my list right now.
Poor little sweetheart.
So did I.One month. I really thought this would be solved quickly.
I can't help but believe someone saw something and someone knows something and they are key.
Yeah, that's why robbery is at the bottom of my list. I get queasy thinking about the most obvious motive though. Ugh.If robbery was the motive though, there's no need to remove her from the scene (just grab it and take off). It's not as if she'd be able to fight back.
Also, she should have quickly turned up if the perpetrator did take her for that reason.
So this comes back to sexually motivated abduction to me.
