So glad this article was written and so many new details!! Hope they can find out her true story--her daughter, at the very least, deserves to know who her mother really was.

I think it's obvious that literally the only way to crack this case is to gather a list of people who requested BST's birth certificate around the time LEK did and go from there. I'm willing to be she's local to the state of WA -- back in the day of no internet news of the fire was probably a hard story to find. Her scribbly notes were probably written after she assumed her new identity -- and she probably used her new identity with all those people listed on that paper.

This case was in the Seattle newspaper. It is one step away from being picked up nationally. If USA Today or Huff Post runs it, the number of people seeing that early pic of BST/LEK/LER will go up by a factor of 100. That is another way it can be solved. She did NOT live the first 25 years or so of her life on Mars. She was pretty intelligent, enough to successfully pass the GED and complete a bachelors degree. Someone who went to school with her as a child may come up with a musty yearbook.
IMHO LE does NOT like for amateurs or the public to solve cases. The agent investigating this case has probably gone down all the side streets we have suggested and then some. He would only go to the public as a last resort to disseminate her image better. At this point it needs to be run nationally. It is quite an interesting story and makes for a riveting read. The reporter in Seattle has a good writing style.

I was going to add "or through facial recognition" in there but didn't ;)

Good list, especially that last one, with the nickname Lori. However, according to the information reported, they are all too short to be "Lori Kennedy".

Late last night I was looking back through posts and found that someone suggested a missing little girl whose age progression photo looks very remarkably like Lori. Now, I cannot remember the missing childs' name nor can I find the post! All I can remember is the little girl along with her 10 month old brother and her mother have been missing for many years, and the husband/?father? had a criminal background and was running from LE. Can anyone help me out??

I remember a case like this from charley prohect. Maybe they are missing from california?

You are probably talking about Elaine Yates, and her daughters Kelly and Kimberly.

Why does the email address on her resume come up on a yahoo search as being used by some guy with the initials JD?! The bd used for that is January 13, 1970.

2010 pics of Lori Ruff where her hight and hands are visible

By looking at those pics^ we can see she is certainly taller than 5'6"!! She literally towers over everyone else! I know we were talking about Marfan syndrome - earlier regarding her.

Her hands actually look sorta freakish in this one:

I agree that she probably had Marfan syndrome, based on these pictures. Marfan syndrome has a genetic component, which might be worth looking into.

Thanks killarney & carlk... I cannot remember the state where they lived but it was definitely brother & sister. I'm so frustrated with myself... grrr. They have a WS thread... husband/father was a member of church of new hope or new song or something like that and family thought church members maybe involved.

Help! The article states there will be a live chat Tues. with reporter Ms. O'Hagan and SA Mr. Velling. I cannot find the link that will take me to the chat!

From the article: Live chat coming Tuesday

Join Times reporter Maureen O'Hagan and Joe Velling, Special Agent in Charge of the Seattle investigations office of the SSA, for a live chat and updates about the case at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

I'm going to assume this is 2pm pacific time?! I hope it's going to be transcribed, and I hope those that are able to get in ask some good questions!

I found a marriage record for Lori E. Kennedy out of Bexar, Texas. (courtesy Ancestry.com) Dated 1991; IDK if I can post it here the dob for LEK is "about 1967" not 1969 that was used on the birth certificate for LEK. I will take a screenshot of it for now; and add it to my photobucket if anyone thinks it's of significance. But it could be a different person entirely. JMO

I have been following marraiges, too. I have this one, and several others of a different L.? ...but after the new release, I think I am going to file anything I have after 1988!!!

I agree with some others that either a facial/height/hand recognition or tracing whomever ordered the original birth cert. would be the best bet to trace her backwards. (Unless that is an alias, too). I'm still letting all the new info sink in. Hmmm

Yea. I'm really trying not to second guess myself, this lady changed info here and there and everywhere just slightly so that it wouldn't be noticed..but over time it affected everything. JMHO

I found that same marriage from 1991 on Familysearch. Does ancestry.com have divorce records? I don't have a subscription to ancestry.

While the marriage or anything else that happened after 1988 is not particularly relevant as a fact in the case. It could lead to people who knew her and know something about her past, even if they didn't think it was relevant at the time. People often know realize what they know until they are questioned about it. Who knows, she might have even left other mementos behind.

It is not the same one, middle initial is A not E when I go into her family tree & she had other children.

Appears to be a different LEK from what I'm getting on Ancestry and that those two are most likely still married from what I see.
