We know parks are one of the favored hunting grounds for pedophiles.
Please dear Lord, let this one come home safely. We haven't had many safe outcomes lately. Praying for this beautiful child

Transcript of the interview with the grandmother-

Grandmother: "I was at home because I stay right up the street with my daughter in law and my son and he say 'Mama, Maliyah is missing' and I said (sons name, which I can't understand) 'What are you talking about?' and he say 'Maliyah's missing' so I tried to get down here. I was able to get down here. I was aggitated because I felt like the police was not doing anything. They did not care. Then I found out that they brought a dog out here 2 to 3 hours later to scent to find my baby. You know, she's a little girl. She's sweet, she's loving and didn't do nothing to nobody. I don't understand why they would take her, you know? I'm just mad because I feel like they're not doing everything to find my little baby girl."

Reporter: "Tell me about Maliyah. For people who are going to see this who are going to be looking for her what was she wearing? How did she look?"

Grandmother: "She had some blue shoes. I think her dad said polka dot shirt. Her hair is kind of in an afro puff, you know and she probably had one of her toys if whoever took her didnt try to throw the toy away because I think they said they found a toy under the stairwell so she's ... This is just too much, you know."

Reporter: "She was playing in this park right here, right?"

Grandmother: "Yes she was playing in the park. You know what they say, she's a happy baby. She's always smiling, she's kind, she's loving and she was just being a little girl, you know. Somebody just came and took her. Just took her."

Reporter: "Is there anything, birthmark, or anything that people should look for? Does she answer by a nickname that people would know?"

Grandmother: "No. If you say, 'Maliyah?' she'll say, 'Yes?', you know, she answers my Maliyah."

Reporter: "But no birthmarks or anything like that on her that you know of?"

Grandmother: "No not that I know of."

Reporter: "But the biggest thing is you just want your granddaughter back."

Grandmother: "I just want my baby back, you know, she didnt do anything wrong. I dont want no hard feelings or nothing. I just want them to bring her back you know? Just bring her back, you know. Oh lord this is just-"

End of interview.
Thank you! Interesting she said no nickname. What about Tootie?

Maliyah Bass was wearing a colorful tank top and shorts and carrying a white pillow case with letter blocks inside when she was last seen on a playground in the complex at 10600 Beechnut St.

“Her mother went inside for just a matter of minutes,” said Kese Smith, a spokesman for the Houston Police Department. She came back outside, couldn’t find the girl and called police, Smith said.

Police searched the area and reviewed surveillance video, Smith said. They found no evidence in the video that Bass left the complex.

2-year-old child missing in southwest Houston, HPD says

Do we know the last time someone, besides the parents had eyes on this baby? This is so sad.
Surely an adult at the park would have seen her. Children interact with each other and she allegedly had her blocks with her. She would likely have been playing with another child whose parent would have seen the child. Where are those reports?

LE needs to be knocking on every door at those apartments and asking politely if they can come in for a quick look. I would ask the mothers in that complex where the "weird guys" in the complex lived. They would know, and that is where I would make a bee-line to search.

BBM

YES! Video doesn’t show her leaving the complex. If the mom really just went inside for a minute and poof she’s gone, I feel someone whisked her into their apartment.

ETA Even if no one was at the playground, surely people were out and about the complex or looked out their windows?

I wonder if they have anyone who saw Maliyah on the playground this morning? It looks like a pretty big complex and I would think around 9am there would be people around.

I just wonder where the cameras were aimed and what did they see? Is there a camera on the playground? I also wonder what types of dogs were brought in and what the LE presence looks like at this moment. My biggest hope is she is curled up sleeping and will toddle out at any moment. It's way past her bedtime and it's been too long...

I didn't catch that; that is huge. Hopefully the apartment video could capture the height of a small child....? If I were LE I would be in everyone of those apartments (with permission) of course. If they didn't let me in, well that would be very suspicious.

This isn't sounding good at all and I pray I'm wrong on that.
Dang it. I always say I'm not going to click on these small children threads but I do anyway. Dang it. Dang it!

Also it was overcast today (so much so I kept checking the forecast for rain), and a few degrees cooler - which is a blessing if she is indeed out and about. I wish there was an update. This is not a good feeling. Did I read they brought both parents in for Q? Is that normal to take them from where Maliyah might return? So soon? Also in the same KHOU article it mentioned one of the complex pools had to be drained because it was too murky to see. Slightly OT, but that has to be some type of health or safety violation.

I just reread the Grandmothers remarks. She says she was in the PARK. She also talks about someone taking her and about possibly throwing her toy away. So at this point I have red flags all over the place.

This sounds like a cover up, and I sure hope I am wrong on that. I've been wrong before. Just too much info and weird details. All sounds very strange.

Dear god, this is so scary. Many possibilities with this child missing.

she could’ve been snatched, taken into an apartment, and then carried away from an apartment unseen.

She could still be in an apartment.

She could have wandered into a tiny crawl space and hasn’t been seen. I hope they are checking EVERY parked vehicle.

She could have never left her own apartment alive.

Whatever, happened I hope she is found safe soon. She is JUST a baby for crying out loud :(
