Well, well, well.

The parents of Anna Moriah Wilson are suing their daughter's convicted killer, Kaitlin Armstrong, along with Armstrong's sister, mother and ex-boyfriend, Colin Strickland.

Wilson's parents...claim the defendants fraudulently transferred Armstrong's properties into their names and sold them, and transferred the money Armstrong had in her bank account to her sister.

This most recent suit claims the transfers were meant to defraud Wilson's parents and deprive them of the money they were supposed to receive as a result of the wrongful death lawsuit they filed earlier this year.

I thought those transactions (www.websleuths.com/forums/threads/tx-moriah-wilson-25-cyclist-fatally-shot-before-race-austin-2022-arrest-10.698294/post-18957078) were sus... especially the ones between CS and KA's mom.
Thanks jash!…… Well isn’t this interesting IMO?

RSBMFF: “….. and transferred the money Armstrong had in her account to her sister.”

Isn’t that perhaps the same sister whose passport interestingly the now convicted murderer had used to travel abroad and evade authorities? Until she was caught? And IIRC the sister had denied any knowledge of that? SMH

IMO it still seems rather odd the whole matter with the sister and the passport. It is unfortunate that more charges were not filed in this case. And for any that might have aided the then suspect to evade and elude authorities. MOO

We don't have any evidence to suggest that Kaitlin's sister provided her passport to help Kaitlin escape. Nor do we have any information at this time that indicates that Kaitlin and her family did anything wrong in terms of transferring assets due to Kaitlin's imprisonment. I suspect that the family members of many incarcerated individuals make similar arrangements, especially for lengthy and life sentences.

I think that anyone whose name was on the title with KA owes The Wilson's half the money for the property. I think that any property that was in KA's name alone, the Wilson's should sue and get all that money. However, they'll probably lie and say they needed the money for her defense.

I was thinking about Moriah Wilson today when an American woman won a gold medal in the Olympics: The Women's Cycling Road Race. I realize that Moriah was a "gravel" racer, but that is not an Olympic sport (yet)! The celebration at the end reminded me of the many pictures we have seen of Moriah: Elated, but exhausted!
This murder was such a colossal waste of human life (as all murders are); Moriah is dead, Colin Strickland's life and livelihood are completely destroyed, and Kaitlin Armstrong is in prison, likely for the remainder of her life. And what about all the families? Their lives will never be the same! What a horrible waste.
And now, we have this lawsuit happening. Although I agree with the Wilson family pursuing all of these avenues, it makes me so sad that Moriah is gone. That vibrant young woman should be out riding her bicycle and winning races. Just a pointless waste.

I agree with all this except - " Colin Strickland's life and livelihood are completely destroyed" - KA life is completely destroyed by her evil choice to viciously murder MW, Colin Strickland has moved on with his life, she has not completely destroyed his life and livelihood, harmed but not destroyed. Life in prison will help keep anyone else from being harmed or destroyed by such an evil individual.

I thought of Moriah as well for the same reason. It’s just awful.

I was just thinking about this case this morning, specifically the passport. If I had a sister and she had a passport and I wanted that passport, I would have no clue where to find it in her house/apartment. It is simply amazing that Kaitlyn knew where to find her sister‘s passport without having to ask her sister for it.

Yes AmandaSkis^^!….. such very good points! And IIRC it is that same sister that I believe gave KA a ride to the airport when the latter fled US soil? And I believe that sister also noted to authorities that KA was heading to ‘Texas’? Which helped perpetuate IMO some of the first deceptions or lies in this case. (I think she had taken KA to an international flight departure terminal? Frankly it is hard to sort and keep all the facts straight in this case.)

IMO it is most alarming that the sister was not charged. From all external observations and information given, it is hard not to conclude that others weren’t involved in helping KA flee the US and evade initial capture. MOO

A Court of Appeals has denied convicted murderer [KA]'s attempt to present new evidence for a new trial.

(...)

Armstrong and her attorney claim the state's DNA expert was not qualified to give his testimony during the trial, and he did not accurately perform analysis.

On Monday, August 26, the Court of Appeals denied the request, again.

I remember Wilsons going after the sister and Kaitlin's mother too after the properties transferred to them and sold but I somehow missed that they tagged CS here too.

ABC KVUE online September 19, 2024 article (updated September 20, 2024) by Johann Castro and Britny Eubank entitled ‘Convicted murderer Kaitlin Armstrong files new appeal’:

Of note from the article:

The latest appeal to the Texas Third Circuit Court of Appeals was filed September 17, 2024.
It asks the court to review an earlier decision to deny an evidentiary hearing. Arguing IIUC that the defense was not allowed to present ‘new evidence’ not presented in the 2023 trial.
IIUC details on the supposed ‘new evidence’ are not given.
IANAL.

IMO if something develops from this, perhaps authorities and investigators should examine if charges in the case should be brought against others that may have been involved. Even if peripherally. And before any statute of limitations for lesser involved crimes expire. MOO
