Medical examiner process, per Sgt: ME was the only one to touch the body or manipulate its positioning. Price oversaw the process. If the ME sees something, they point it out to an officer and/or crime scene specialist. ME noticed smaller injuries on the body: right index finger and on one of her legs. There were also defects on her ear and chin.

Sgt. describing the body: Her face and hair were covered in blood. Appeared she had entry wounds in the face, but there was too much blood to tell by looking. She was clutching a black hat in her hand and she had sandals on and a summer dress.

During exam, ME located a projectile in Wilson's hair. That was turned over to Crime Scene Specialist Ferrara. Investigators noticed defect in front of dress, bra and chest. Once moved, exit wound was found on Wilson's back. Projectile was discovered in floor tile.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The murder trial for Kaitlin Armstrong began Wednesday at 9 a.m. Armstrong is accused of shooting and killing up-and-coming professional cyclist Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson in May 2022.

Jones, in his statements, outlined the below timeline on the day Wilson died, which he said prosecutors and law enforcement gathered through phone records. Wilson was in town for a gravel race and was staying with a friend in east Austin.

  • Wilson and Strickland leave Deep Eddy Pool. State said Strickland lied to Armstrong about where he was.
  • 8:35 p.m.: Strickland drops Wilson off at her friend’s east Austin apartment
  • 8:38 p.m.: Strickland texts Armstrong, goes home.
  • 9:13 p.m.: Wilson uses her phone.
  • 9:15 p.m.: Gunshots go off.

Price tries to make contact with the landlord of the apartment. This landlord, David Harris, lives in a separate house in front of the property. Harris gave permission for officers to search his property for evidence. Nothing was found on his property.

Yes, I recall the comment about the whoosh as well. And if KA rode it 50-100' down the alley, in a way that'd be like her last dig at Mo. Taking her bike and RIDING it, then tossing it.
Did she ride it to her vehicle? Why? Vindictive is really the only explanation.

She is indefensible.

Will we ever know what transpired in the 40 min between 8:35 and 9:15? Did KA pace around outside, perhaps waiting for a neighbor to go inside, or was she staking out the house to see if she could determine if anyone else was inside? Did she knock and did Mo let her in and did they have a "conversation" or argument for awhile before she was shot? Or did KA just storm in close to 9:15? We know KA's jeep was turned off for that long time period, based on what the prosecutor said yesterday in the opening statements.

Edited to add - actually, we did learn yesterday that Mo was on her phone until almost 9:15, so there probably was no interaction between her and KA until closer to 9:15. So where was KA and what was she doing for the 40 min?

The extent of the damage and just cold-bloodedness of it --

For someone who stiffed her botox provider, then spent $6000 to change her own appearance, KA intentionally oblitered Mo's face.

I want to go on record -- she was wholly unsuccessful in diminishing Mo's true beauty.

KA succeeded only in proving her own core ugly.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Prosecutors will call more witnesses Thursday in the murder trial for Kaitlin Armstrong, who’s accused of shooting and killing pro cyclist Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson in May 2022.

Both sides delivered opening statements Wednesday morning. The state outlined a timeline of evidence gathered from phone and GPS records of Armstrong and Wilson’s actions leading up to the shooting. Prosecutors also discussed the relationship between Armstrong, Wilson and Armstrong’s then-boyfriend Colin Strickland.

The defense’s primary argument appears to be the notion that even though there is surveillance of gunshots and her Jeep, there is no camera footage of Armstrong actually shooting Wilson.

“I want to talk to you about what you didn’t hear about,” defense attorney Geoffrey Puryear said. “Not one witness saw Kaitlin Armstrong allegedly commit this murder because there isn’t one.”

Wilson’s brother Matt was the first to testify. The state asked about his sister’s collegiate skiing career as well as her up-and-coming professional cycling endeavors. He also spoke about the kind of person his sister was, saying they were both extremely close.

Did KA think CS was there? Thinking maybe his motorcycle was garaged? Hard to know whose unit was whose, what garage belonged to whom.

Was she tracking CS in real time?

I'm just wondering if she had one target or two.

Interesting thought! Because maybe she saw them pull up but didn't see him leave . . .

Just trying to refresh my memory of what the landlord said. I think the below is inaccurate -- I think it was later clarified in the media (possibly by his son?) that he didn't actually see the bike or anyone, but rather heard what he thought was a bike. I wonder if he will be called as a witness.

Between 8:30 and 9:30: Wilson’s friend’s landlord, who lives in the larger home on the property, goes into the garage, which is beneath the rental unit. While he is there, he hears what he believes is someone running down the stairs from the apartment to the alley. From beneath the partly raised garage door, he sees a bicyclist southbound in the alley. (The only item later determined to be missing from the apartment is Wilson’s bike. It is found concealed in vegetation about 20 yards south.)

May 15 - Police obtain video footage showing a vehicle near the scene

Detectives canvas for video surveillance footage in the Maple Ave area. The property owner of the Maple Ave residence, who also lives on the property and rents out an apartment to Wilson’s friend, tells police that on May 11, 2022, between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm, he walked into his garage and partially raised his garage door and then heard what he described as someone running down the stairs that lead to the Maple Ave apartment’s front door, and observes a bicycle travel southbound through the alleyway from the apartment.”

VIDEO: Begins outside near alley. Shot by a Crime Scene Supervisor (CSS). There is no audio. CSS holds up his watch to show it is 5/12/22 at 12:59am. The CSS walks down the alley toward the apartment. There is crime scene tape surrounding the perimeter. CSS climbs the stairs leading to apartment.

True, but I don't think it could have been thrown into the bamboo from the balcony. The balcony is on the other side of the house from the piece of land containing the bamboo, if you check out that Google street view. Unless she leaned over the railing and aimed to her left.
Agree, after looking at the google street view, it wouldn't work for her to have thrown the bike off the porch into the bamboo.

GRAPHIC: CSS shows the door, no signs of forced entry. There is open luggage on the floor, electronics on the couch. A laptop and two phones. One of the phones is plugged in. From the fridge, you can see Wilson's body sprawled on the floor. Closeups of shell casings in kitchen.

GRAPHIC: We are now seeing closeups of the blood on the floor. Closeup of Mo's shoes and blood stains. In the courtroom, Armstrong stares straight ahead, unflinching. It is silent in the courtroom. Jurors are paying close attention to their screens. We are now looking at wounds and abrasions on the body and close ups of projectile. There is a closeup of Mo Wilson's bloodied face. It is blurred. A close up of her dress pulled up past her waist. More closeups of shell casings.

Bullet trajectory is confusing, especially the two facial / head wounds. Right temple to left jaw means a downward trajectory, as if MW was sitting down and facing the perp. Entry wound to chest with exit wound in the back and projectile embedded in tile also corroborates MW facing assailant.

Also, two right head wounds to MW, right temple and right face might indicate perp was holding gun in the left hand and likely left-handed.

A right handed perp would be more likely to hold weapon in right hand and inflict injuries to the left side of the face and temple region.

Since KA’s Jeep was seen on video right after CS dropped Mo off at the apartment and there has been no other mention of her Jeep around there after…did she park further away and wind back on foot trying to avoid detection, maybe waiting for someone in the downstairs garage to go inside?

Mo was was on her phone on the sofa, her phone was still plugged in there. I am thinking KA opened the door with the gun pointed at Mo and that is where the audio of her screaming happened. Mo probably ran towards the bathroom with KA on her tail and KA shot her. Those 2 gunshots to MO’s head was very personal imo.
