In my experience, not likely.. Defendant gets to choose whether or not the Judge will determine sentence of the Jury.

Good questions. I wonder if the verdict is guilty, will the sentencing portion start right away or if there will be a hearing set for later. In Texas, whether it by a guilty plea agreement or conviction by a jury, I've never seen the Court impose the sentence immediately. Texas seems to...

Strickland is inside the witness room just outside the courtroom. Court is back in session with the state beginning its redirect of Mr. Tobin.Tobin says he did not look at any of the evidence in this case. Tobin says he is getting paid for testifying on behalf of the defense.

It might be a good time to practice our poker faces. Soon as the defense rests, IMO they'll ask the judge to dismiss. On what grounds, I can only conject. No fingerprints, no video of her shooting the weapon....

Neither required.

The defense had no defense.

Laughable if any part of this horrendous story were funny.

He is being paid $5,000 to testify. In 2022, Tobin says he testified in about six cases. Even if he doesn't testify, he still gets paid.

Prosecution asks Tobin to confirm he worked in a number of private companies before the FBI. Prosecution wants to go over every job one by one.

I'm not sure. CS is not on the defense's last witness list (6 individuals) but I think the State reserved CS to be recalled as a rebuttal witness.

The state is asking about his experience and professional positions, dating all the way back to the 1960s. Testing his knowledge and expertise.
