Kaitlin Armstrong will not testify

After Mr Strickland was dismissed, Ms Arsmtrong and her attorneys approached the judge.
She was asked if she understood her right to testify if she wished to do so.
According to NewsNation Correspondent Alex Caprariello, Ms Arsmtrong seemed confused, and even scared during that exchange, a stark contrast from her stoic demeanour in the two and a half weeks of trial so far.

Unlike KA who is hidden behind bars, I think CS has been the target of much hostility and threats on his person. The man is a cad but nobody deserves to live in fear. I hope the conviction of KA will allow him to move forward.

Right? This was a deeply ordinary story that I am sure most of us have personally seen before. Unfortunately for the 2 fallible humans involved, the 3rd person was a psychopath.

One thing I do note once more, is that stalking is a gigantic red flag. Not all stalkers murder, but in these intimate partner murders you will often find stalking.

I hope Judges and juries pay more attention to its relevance in future cases.

It's very disturbing behavior indeed. It's like KA's development was suspended. She's 35 years old!

Hmmm. Wish Niels had clarified.
Cosmetic surgery fail, or she still looks indifferent?

Niels said Armstrong looked indifferent when officers picked her up on May 12. When asked by the defense if she currently looks the same way she did that day, he replied, "For the most part."

Let's not forget that Travis County is the most liberal county in the state of Texas, by far. Even if KA is convicted of felony murder, which I believe she will be, the penalty in the state is as little as five years up to the maximum, life without parole. This doesn't even take into consideration that, during the penalty phase, her attorney can, and almost certainly will argue that it was a crime of sudden passion, if she is convicted, and if that holds up, her sentence could be as little as two years. I do not really think that sudden passion defense would be successful here, as there is considerable evidence that KA stalked Mo for a period of time, and told at least two friends, about four months before she allegedly did, that she wanted to kill Mo, and had bought a gun. Having said that, I would not be certain that a jury in Travis County will necessarily give her the maximum penalty, especially if even one or two jurors take pity on her, and hold up deliberations. I can easily see her getting 20-30 years, which is about what it was rumored that she would have gotten if she had accepted the plea deal that she was offered, and rejected, shortly before jury selection.

I do hope she gets LWOP, and never draws another breath as a free woman, and am holding onto the hope that the jury will return with that verdict and sentence.

Agree with everything you said, however, I believe it will be LWOP. Something tells me this accused person would commit another homicide, if given the opportunity. moo

In my very amateur opinion, it does seem like this (very cute) pup is being used for emotional support vs to gain sympathy/positive external vibes. CS is rapidly petting the pup while carrying it. Possibly CS is in therapy (only a guess here) and between court appearances they (or just he/ his family) came up with this strategy for dealing with possibly his own biggest risk time for emotional explosion which is the walking in and out. It's a smart strategy in my opinion and appears to have worked. MOO

I believe LWOP is the appropriate sentence here given the planning, stalking, attempt to cover up, fleeing, etc.

I'm on the fence about whether she would do it again. MOO but I think she formed a very twisted fixation on CS specifically which was at the center of her mental spiral. I think she thought of him as her possession...I think she thought he was her only path to a good future/happiness ...and as her somewhat paranoid (and somewhat accurate) prediction started rolling out in real time in front of her she took action - almost on autopilot. I think it was a very specific set of circumstances which led to this horrible and very scary situation. Hopefully we'll never find out of she would do it again. MOO

He really may have needed the little dog to keep him calm and comfort him. It does seem like he was arrogant and a cad with women in the past, however he has literally lost everything in this. I do feel sorry for him.

I think she has been a dangerous cunning liar for a long time. Just the precursor Botox dash alone showed no regard for others.

Yoga retreat melt down …
Armstrong arrived at the retreat with a “pain in her eyes,” tearfully telling the attendees that she’d fled to Bali because she wanted to “change something back home.”

Costa Rica …
She told the guy in Costa Rica she had just been through a real traumatizing breakup, and she hadn’t healed from it yet ….
