"In a report on gang activity submitted last year to the governor and the state Legislature, law enforcement officials classified the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, known as Bandidos O.M.G., as a Tier 2 threat, the second-highest level....Tier 2 gangs were 'responsible for a disproportionate amount of crime across urban, suburban and rural areas of Texas.'"

If LE knew to expect violence, why didn't they clear innocents out of the restaurant? According to reports no bystanders were harmed PHYSICALLY, but what about emotionally? To witness that violence would certainly cause PTSD. So sad.

WACO: (May 17, 2015) Three rival motorcycle gangs turned a local restaurant into a shooting gallery Sunday afternoon and when the gunfire was over, nine people were dead and several were injured.

Swanton said authorities are concerned that gang members are moving to other parts of the city to continue the confrontation elsewhere.

At the foxnews link are photos of a family including very small children at the scene. I cannot even begin to imagine how frightening this situation must have been for the families and people just out trying to enjoy a meal on a Sunday afternoon.

Holy smokes! Thank goodness they only managed to shoot each other up and not any innocent bystanders. Natural Selection at work...

Oh my gosh Peliman I'm dying at Sphincter.

I think I like Sergeant Swanton!

So this is the biker gang? Are we sure this shootout wasn't at Luby's for the Early Bird special? Some of 'em look like they're pushing 70. They don't need to set a curfew, most of them are probably dozing off by 8 pm.

Guess you're never too old to be a violent criminal. SMH

Hats off to LE, seems they contained this one pretty well.

Does anyone else think that the bar was really who tipped off LE? I know they are proclaiming otherwise, but doth protest too much...

Sorry to hijack the thread, this is my last post tonight. :blushing:

I'm so thankful that no LE or innocent people were hurt or killed. I guess I'm just prejudiced but I would never, ever go to a restaurant or anywhere else if I saw a bunch of bikers parked there. I know there are some good bikers out there but I wouldn't be brave enough to stop & check out their credentials.

Well, here I am working in Waco today (I live in a rural town just outside of Waco, and work in Waco).
Crazy.

I'm glad the nation is getting to see Sgt. Swanton. He's a great asset for Waco PD.

I think Twin Peaks is going to have a short future here in Waco, whether because their franchise agreement is going to be pulled, or because of the backlash from the local community.

Please pray for our LE today and in the near future, for they are getting numerous threats from these t h u g s (see, I use that word as a descriptor for low life/criminal actions, not a race!)...

192 being processed in our facilities...good job Central Texas.

(P.S. I feel for the "good" biker groups that do a lot of good work...even they were alerted to get off their bikes yesterday because there were threats against anyone riding yesterday, from the criminal gangs.)

The section of the outdoor mall closest to I-35 and Hwy 6 is still going to be closed today, for crime scene investigation and security. That hurts other innocent businesses and employees. Sad that a bunch of t h u g s can affect so many others.

That's only good, common sense as far as I'm concerned. God gave us all a brain - it's a shame more don't use it.

Thankyou for your local input deputydawg, I am thinking of everyone in the community.
I am so pleased no passerbys or police were injured. I can not imagine having to witness such a scene. Shocking!

You are also right, there are good and bad in all walks of life, I hope the good bikers can stay strong too.

Even a Walmart in town completely closed late afternoon, as did several restaurants near the interstate...and even a small shop owned by someone I know. They had alerts all over social media yesterday, with local LE asking people to just go home. I've never seen such a response city-wide. And yes, by reading social media, it appeared many were taking that advice.

I hope TP's alcohol liscense gets pulled and they get shut down for good. I hope they have major backlash from the community also.

And I hope they get sued out to wazoo. jmo
