Amber Alert Issued for Missing 8-Month-Old Girl in Mesquite

An Amber Alert was issued Monday evening for 8-month-old Nyla Crockett from Mesquite.

• Nyla was last seen about 11:18 p.m. Friday in the 4800 block of North Galloway Avenue in Mesquite, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a tweet.
  
• The suspect, 30-year-old Chernario Crockett, was last seen wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans with black or brown boots. Law enforcement officials have not described the woman's relationship with the missing child.
  
• Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Mesquite police at 972-216-6241.

LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS BELIEVE THIS CHILD TO BE IN GRAVE OR IMMEDIATE DANGER. IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THIS ABDUCTION, CALL THE MESQUITE POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Family members told WFAA Monday night that Chernario and Nyla went with the child's paternal father to a CarMax in Garland Friday to purchase a car.

Per the paternal father's communication with the family, Chernario then went to get a massage with Nyla and vanished.

Crockett's older sister CW said nothing about the situation adds up and that it's possible both Nyla and the 30-year-old may be in danger.

Nyla's grandmother and Chernario's mother, TB, told WFAA that her daughter's character doesn't match that of someone abducting a child.

"She would not do this. She would always come over to see me, she would bring the baby, or she'd just come by. She would never leave for four days without me knowing," TB said.

Nothing to add really other than to simply agree with what others have already said:

-Going for a massage with an 8 month old in tow seems very unlikely.

- Reports referring to dad (I think) as "paternal father" are really confusing.

ETA:
Any word about the CarMax visit? Was it confirmed they were all there? Was a vehicle purchased? Anything out of the ordinary about thst visit? (An argument, etc?)

Read closely and fully and only after a good night's rest- Lesson Learned. I cant believe I read everything but breezed right past at least 2-3 "found safe" msm reports posted right here.
