An “extensive search” is underway for a 20-year-old soldier, who went missing earlier this week while stationed in Texas.

Private First Class Vanessa Guillen was last seen on Wednesday, April 22, at 1:00 p.m. local time in a parking lot at squadron headquarters in Fort Hood, army officials said in a press release, as they asked members of the public for help finding the missing soldier.

Afterward, several items belonging to Guillen were “found in the armory room,” where she had been working before her disappearance. The items included her car keys, ID and wallet.

Court sets trial date in Aguilar case, hearing on Guillen family gag order

August 15, 2020
After a Killeen woman pleaded not guilty to a federal felony charge related to Army Spc. Vanessa Guillen’s murder, the court released its schedule that sets a possible trial date for next month.
[.....]
Aguilar is being held without bond in the McLennan County Jail.

Jury selection is set to begin on Sept. 28 in the federal court in Waco, according to the court document released on Thursday.

Federal Judge Alan D. Albright is set to hear the case.

A hearing is set be held on motions on Sept. 8, at which time Albright could make a ruling on a gag order motion filed by Aguilar’s defense attorney on July 27. On Thursday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Frazier filed his response to the defense motion, arguing that the gag order request is too broad in its scope.

What We Know About the Death of Vanessa Guillen

The New York Times, of course, is less reliable than the “moo’s” on this thread.

1. The NYT claims that AR was NOT VG’s superior

But you can “moo” that he was.

2. The NYT reports that the last person VG texted on April 22 was AR.

3. VG then went from the room she worked IN over to the room controlled by AR.

Would VG go alone to the room controlled by AR if he had previously sexually harassed her?

If she had previously reported him to the authorities!

Terrible.
Please call your senator and your congressman and tell them you want this cleaned up!

I said I was leaving this thread, and I did. But my brain continues to function and things keep jumping around in my head, so I came back to tell you and everyone this:
I believe all females are sexually harassed at one time or another, but not all men sexually harass. If it's not some guy attempting to make out with you, or believing you're sexually active with someone else, it's someone criticizing you for being fat, skinny, ugly, frigid, etc. No matter what you look like or whether you appeal to a guy or not, some are just jerks and they want to harass you one way or another. Males may on occasion be sexually harassed but not as often as females.
If this subject hadn't been going on in my subconscious almost since the last time I posted, I wouldn't be posting this now. VG was more than likely more sexually harassed and more overtly than a lot of the other females, because she was attractive, young and just seems to have been a really sweet person. IMHEducated/InformedOpinion.

If she had previously reported him to the authorities!

From the link, to be clear, VG was doing her job:

Specialist Robinson worked in a building at Fort Hood that was adjacent to where Specialist Guillen worked, according to Special Agent Damon Phelps of the Criminal Investigation Command.

[..]

A witness told investigators that Specialist Guillen left the arms room where she had been working and went to the arms room controlled by Specialist Robinson to confirm serial numbers for weapons and equipment, the complaint said.

Specialist Robinson later said he read her the serial numbers and gave her paperwork, according to court documents. He said he believed she then left to go to the motor pool.

Not sure what your post is insinuating but let's not somehow make VG responsible for what happened to her.

As the article states:

A witness told investigators that Specialist Guillen left the arms room where she had been working and went to the arms room controlled by Specialist Robinson to confirm serial numbers for weapons and equipment, the complaint said.

Presumably when you are a soldier and have a job to do, y0u don't have a choice, even if a complaint has been lodged.

ETA: Now I see that Seattle1 got there before me.

Poor Vanessa is certainly not responsible for her own death.
I was reiterating that some moo’er’s desperately claim that:

1. AR had sexually harassed VG prior to 4-22;

2. The Army was aware of such prior harassment;

3. The Army let AR kill VG because she’s Latina,

However, this is - so far - just mooing. Suppositions, hopes, dreams, yes. But actual tangible evidence - not so far.
I am asking: if AR had previously sexually harassed VG, would she have gone alone to ARs arms room on 4-22? You say yes - she was doing her duty.

I think VGs action in going alone to ARs armor room is evidence that she did not fear sexual harassment by AR.

I'll bite. It seems as though you want to antagonize, but maybe not.

I agree totally with parts of your statement. Disagree with a lot too.

Vanessa may have been harassed by the murderer, but it was unreported.
As many, many females have said, they fight internally with reporting abuse for several reasons and it all has to do with retaliation. Your goal is to get ahead. You aren't going to get ahead by telling. The harasser knows it too.
She likely feared him in that he would talk smack but didn't think she'd be murdered. She wasn't weak. He was a bad and evil person and snapped. She had a job to do. Soldiers do what they are told.

The Latina part... not so much. She was beautiful even by high standards she was just gorgeous.

Yes her family will sue and settle, and that is how Khawam will be paid too. Nothing to do with race/ethnicity. Nothing.

Glad to hear from a “biter”. Here’s a Texas case that has comparable elements.

TIMBERWALK APARTMENTS PARTNERS INC LBI v. CAIN
Supreme Court of Texas. It gives you a lot to think about.

IRONY: the more VGs family claims that AR Previously sexual harassed VG, the weaker VGs money damages case becomes!

The Govts defense will be:

VG knew AR was a sick and dangerous fellow who was sexually fixated on her! When she went to this sicko’s armor room - all alone - she did so at her own risk! Don’t blame the Army!

(Mooers - don’t attack me. This not my opinion. I am just predicting what the Govt would say - if AR had previous harassed VG - and if she did go alone to his armor room)

When the sides square off and start drawing legal papers, and they need someone who know the facts of this case backwards and forwards, you will truly be a man to reckon with!

Judge denies gag order motion in Cecily Aguilar case | khou.com

August 19, 2020
Judge Jeffrey Manske said the motion to issue a gag order in Cecily Aguilar's case was without merit.

A federal judge in Waco denied a motion to issue a gag order in the case of Cecily Aguilar, who's charged in connection to the death of Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen.

Judge Jeffrey Manske signed the order to deny the motion Monday, ruling it was without merit.

The motion, filed July 27 by Aguilar's defense attorney Lewis B. Gainor, asked Manske to prohibit trial participants, including witnesses, the Guillen family and their attorney Natalie Khawam from making public statements that would "have a substantial likelihood of materially prejudicing Ms. Aguilar's right to a fair trial."

I think VGs action in going alone to ARs armor room is evidence that she did not fear sexual harassment by AR.

And this is the same attitude she got from the males in her environment. Yes, you are assuming that she didn't fear him, when clearly she did because she told her family and close friends that she did. It's like you have this sour view or opinion regarding this case....

NOTICE TO ALL PARENTS

If your child tells you the name of an individual who is sexually harassing him/her, DO NOT KEEP IT TO YOURSELF.

Immediately report the name of that person and the sexual harassment to the authorities!

If you fail to do so, you may be enabling the individual to commit further sexual harassment or even worse crimes!

You said you'll bite, but I wondered to whom your comment was addressed. If the respondent answered you, I should be able to figure it out, thank you.
