Thanks so much. But just because the man driving the SUV was a realtor doesn't mean he can't be the one that murdered Sara. I wonder if she knew him?
From the article, they do not hint that this RE agent is a suspect... They were hoping that he may be able to give the LE new leads but, he wasn't "able to give us anything new." according to the article

I would imagine that they did question him and make sure that he had an alibi.
They would have to view everyone that was around there as a suspect until they could be cleared. I hope this doesn't turn into a cold case like so many seem to be doing. It's hard to believe that there wasn't anything left behind by the killer....DNA of some kind...prints...something. If they didn't find any fingerprints I wonder if the killer had gloves? If he did then we know that he planned the murder.

As a realtor, I find it strange that Sarah Walker would have left her cell phone in her car. I try to have mine with me at all times in case a client or prospect tries to call me as well as for safety's sake. I've been mulling this fact over in my mind and wondering if she could have been accompanied to the house by her killer and been forced to leave her cell phone behind.

Could she have stopped for gas and had someone force their way into her car? I wonder if anyone saw her arrive at the job alone?

The longer this drags on, the greater the chance that it will never be solved.
It is so sad.

It's so sad and frightening that a crime like this could happen in broad daylight, in the middle of an afternoon in a model home where you would think there would be a reasonable amount of foot traffic. This crime is just mind-boggling. I check here often to see if there are any new leads or information and there seems to be nothing. I hope there are answers for her family and for this community.

i'm not a realtor, but the ones i come across always have their cell phone on them...it's almost like an extra 'body part'....

ETA....i hadn't thought about someone possibly forcing their way into her car, prior to going to the model home...hmmmmm

I like that you're thinking outside the box YellowDog. That's an idea! I'm trying to think of a scenario that she would have taken this guy to an empty house though. Do you think she may have thought that her appointment would already be there?

But why would an someone want to go to the model home with her? I wouldn't think there would be anything of value in the house. If someone had forced their way into the car, wouldn't they make her drive to some secluded area? Unless it was someone she felt comfortable with initially, and knew even slightly. Then things turned ugly and she was forced to leave her phone in the car.

imo

If someone got in her car, HOW would he even KNOW about the model home? She would have had to drive there for some reason. Remember, this wasn't a robbery. Who ever did this, didn't want anything of value, he wanted to hurt her. Someone she knew is very possible and they went there to talk.

That makes sense. I'm leaning towards it being someone that she knew. Btw, weren't her watch and ring missing? Anything else?

Yes, you're right. They are missing. I don't know what I was thinking about.

I can't find the article stating her cell phone was left in the car. Can someone refresh my memory, where was Sarah's purse? Was it left in the car as well or was it in the house? Thanks.

You got me thinking Jeana! LOL

I'm thinking it was someone who called her, as a ruse to get her alone, and made an appt to look at the home, was already waiting for her as she drove up and it startled her for some reason. Maybe he was there earlier than the appt time, walked up to her car door as she was proceeding to get out. She might have been taken so off guard that she didn't realize at first her phone was in the car and then when she realized it, if she did, it was too late as she was already in the home with the perp who had a small blade knife staring her in the face!~

Yes, I think that's right. Keys were in a drawer in the model home.

the more i think about this, the more i can understand her wanting to leave her purse locked in her car. she probably felt that someone could "walk away" with her purse while she was distracted showing the home to a potential buyer, and felt it was safer there than in the model home.

but it does not make any sense that she would not have her cell with her. could she have forgotten it in her purse? possible, but i doubt it. i would imagine a cell phone was pretty much a "tool of her trade" and she depended of having that with her during the work day.

i hope we are not looking at another high-profile cold case for the mckinney police department.

.
Maybe she left her cell phone in the car with her purse so when she showed homes the cell phone would already be in there. She may not need the cell phone in the model since there is already a phone in there.
Also it may have been one of those fluke moments when she left the cell in the car on an accident. That happens to me quite a bit. I get in the model and start turning on lights and getting set up and realize I left my cell out in my car. Unless I need it I don't rush out to get it.

Just heard on the local news there's been an arrest. The reporter said that the sketch they released of a possible witness (don't recall if he was ever called a person of interest) led to the arrest. There's a news conference this afternoon. I'll post if I get more info.

Edited to add link to local nbc affiliate. No much info yet:

Eagerly awaiting further updates. This would be wonderful news. Sure it doesn't bring her back, but at least the perpetrator will pay for his crime.
