Jury trial was set begin on 12/6/19 with jury selection, but were unable to find 12 jurors. Trial was set to begin on 3/25/20-cancelled due to COVID is continued on 8/22/22 for Jury selection. Will be tried in Montague County.

Newsom's trial is supposed to start today - but they did ask for a continuance & the court site has not been updated. So I shall wait to post it.
 
Newsom - can not really tell IF the motion for trial was granted or denied... as it still shows trial on 3/19/24.

Joshua Fulbright has been arrested and is in the Wichita County Jail as of now. His charge shows Indictment for Capital Murder of a child under the age of 10 years old.
Confusing to me somewhat.
I suppose he was charged in Clay County Texas before he won a change of venue to Montague County, Texas for his trial after failing to set an impartial jury in Clay County. As we know, there have been 2 mistrials since his case was in given the new venue.
My best guess with the current arrest is that the prosecutors office in Wichita County Texas have picked up the Capital Murder Charges? I'm not sure if the link I've tried to post confirming the arrest of Joshua Fulbright is allowed but he should show up in the VINE NETWORK and Tyler Odyssey Portal as well.
We sorely need justice for Scarlett Olivia Newsome finally.

I do have a status hearing for him on 7/15/24.

And just tried finding him in the Wichita County court site - but not there yet.

A charge of DWI with a child passenger under 15 against Barber was dismissed because of insufficient evidence after lab tests came back negative from the Texas Department of Public Safety, according to a judge's July 18, 2023, order.

Barber has since resumed representing Fulbright.

Fulbright was placed in the Wichita County Jail on June 21, 2024, on an indictment of capital murder of a child under the age of 10 and was held without bail.

He was transferred to Clay County on June 28, according to Wichita County Jail records.

Hall said the state will not seek the death penalty against him. A conviction would mean life in prison without parole.
