Cameras were not allowed in court on Tuesday for Wesley Mathews’ scheduling hearing. A possible plea deal was discussed, with the deadline to arrange that deal May 1, 2019. A potential trial would begin on May 6.

I understand that SM trial is scheduled for later this week, I think Thursday the 10th (still waiting on what WM might decide on the plea). Are there any Texans, or others, who might have heard some local news that isn't getting passed on to the rest of us? And can someone explain more why they would want their trial together rather than separate? And, more questions, what does it mean for a case like this when there's a change in administration. Could a change in the DA office work against or for them?

I was local (McKinney, Tx), actually visited Sherin's grave. Our family moved east about 6 months ago. This case has always pulled at my heart. Sweet Sherin; I can only pray that justice is served.

Thank you TxMother 67... me too, this case broke my heart. I am dumbfounded by SM and WMs actions; and I shake my head at how this all ended for them. In time, justice will prevail!

Niner, do you know anything more about what is posted on Maria Guerrero's face book page? I will quote directly from her professional profile:
"Update: Sini Mathews has a hearing in court tomorrow morning. I don’t know if she will be present.
Her attorney wants her bond lowered.
They’re also expected to petition to keep
her trial separate from Wesley’s (set for May). And it’s also a case setting - which could give us an indication on a trial date for her. I’ll be in court"

Sorry AvidListener - but I don't read Maria's FB pages. But there is a bond reduction hearing today - which I will be posting. Than a Status hearing on 1/28, and a Motions for Severance on 2/4. I don't know "what" that last hearing is for - "Severance"?? Meaning - getting rid of her attorney??
