LE was asked about that and they say basically "we haven't confirmed whether that took place or not" in the press conference starting at around 5:25:

So LE themselves isn't ruling out sabotage.

Well, there you have it, technological issues caused some of the cameras to activate and some didn’t. That does not = broken or disabled.

Good gravy y'all! I go to school for one day and come back to 37 pages! It took me two hours to get caught up!

Hope everyone in N. Texas is staying safe in this terrible weather. It's starting to hail here and I don't know how long I'll still have power (it keeps flickering) so I'll keep this quick for now and try to stay caught up by phone.

Are many convinced this was a botched robbery? I don't think so. I have been reading all day and finally had to skip ahead to post a thought that I had. In thread #2, someone here had posted how they noticed how methodically the killer was sweeping the outer rooms, on the side of the building that was opened and where Missy would soon be parked. Others have posted about how the breaking of glass was a random staging of a burglary. I don't know if anyone posted this idea in the past 30 pages I jumped, but I think the killer was intentionally opening every unlocked door, intentionally breaking every window of the "unlocked" doors. The killer even gave up on the doors he/she couldn't pry open. The killer knew if he/she couldn't pry it open, Missy wasn't getting in there either. I think the killer was planning in case Missy escaped him/her. If the killer opened every single unlocked door, the killer would know which room Missy was hiding in. The killer also broke the glass on every window to make certain Missy couldn't lock the door behind her. Very sinister and seems it's straight out of a horror movie. There was no way she was getting away from this monster. This person was not looking for items to steal and was carefully planning in case things went awry. IMO.

This literally made me shutter. You bring up some really good (yet really scary) points! This has to be one of the best explanations I've seen for him/her opening all the doors. Thank you for getting me thinking!!

Welcome to the 75 guest reading here. Please join us and tell us what you think about this case. We would love some new perspectives! :)

YES! Guests, join us! :)

Well how many tools and weapons did the killer bring?

You would need to push a shopping cart around for all the things he brought to a b&e of a church.

Hi Dexter! :seeya: Good to see you friend!

I have been wondering the same thing....I've seen all of the following named in the threads as something he's/she's had: crow bar, hammer, screwdriver, flashlight, saran wrap, door jam, vent, brick, paper (floorplan?), level, headlamp and I can't even remember what else. Obviously some of those items we were just brainstorming about but he/she does seem to have quite a lot of tools/weapons. It would be hard to even speculate about what the murder weapon was.

Was he maybe selling both guns and steroids ? jmo

Will have to wait on lab tests of "steroids" I guess. A possibility IMO. 15 year veteran of Ellis Co Sheriff's Dept. Bet LE has had some interesting conversations with him and his attorney.

A pistol/hand gun wouldn't require a lot of space but then again... we're talking about Texas... isn't everything s'pose to be bigger there?? :D

Absolutely!! (ha!)

Do y'all really think MB was shot?

Agree TG2. This thread is flying. I also hope the weather lightens up for your area.

- Stay safe-

Well, there you have it, technological issues caused some of the cameras to activate and some didn’t. That does not = broken or disabled.

Is there some reason why you are ignoring LE being asked about sabotage and said they hadn't confirmed whether it happened or not? 'Sabotage' was expressly asked about by the media and expressly answered by LE in response to LE saying there was technological issues, so perhaps you just didn't watch enough of it, so you missed that.

I just realized, duh, that the perp has the lights on. He turned them on, or the cameras tripping made them come on? I wonder if they were still on when the campers arrived and went inside? If he intentionally had them on when Missy arrived then as others have supposed, he would have been playing cop following up a burglary call. He wanted to talk to her, had something to say before he killed her. Nut. I read the article written by the attorney who was reminded of the Kaufman killings, the prosecutor dressed the same way so they would trust him and he could gain access to their home.

This has already been discussed here. Hallway lighting in all public buildings is kept on 24 hours a day due to fire regulations and safety concerns. In this case, if the hallway lighting wasn’t on, there would be no video record of the suspect what so ever.

I was wondering about potential ability for someone to remove evidence, or fake police gear. Thanks

I suppose there could have been a period of time when that could have happened. But I’m pretty sure the police would have secured the scene quickly as soon as they arrived.

There was an episode on ID of ' fear they neighbor' ? maybe and the perp reminds me of this perp. Female, obsessed over alleged 'wrongs' her neighbor had done to her. She started snorting the cocaine 24/ 7 and moved away. After a year or so she was still so mad she drove back to town with a home made bomb and a rented van to blow up the neighbor but ended up blowing up herself.
ETA ** SPECULATIVE**

Har Har Hardy Har Har! Bless her cold dead black heart.

I probably have that episode of the DVR, will have to check it out.

I’m still convinced this was a blotched robbery, based on the evidence I have heard so far. Even in light of the recent statements from the LE to the contrary. I hope the investigators have very good evidence to believe that this was a staged event. Because if they don’t, I think they are barking up the wrong tree.

To me it makes no sense that this could be anything other then a burglary. I can’t imagine why someone would do that much damage to a church, just to kill one person. There would be so many easier ways of killing her.

Not that it happened, but wires cut intentionally, for example, would certainly cause technological issues. JMO

I have a couple of days off and got caught up. I took my dog out for a lovely walk on a sunny spring day. It was even more special since the girl had eye surgery last month and she was taking lots of time looking and sniffing at everything, and I do mean lots of time. We got home and I logged in and boom! So much catching up again. Websleuth members are amazing. We all want the same thing, although our approaches may be different, and that is justice for the victim.

Some folks have requests. Make it look like a car jacking. Make it look like a accident. Make it look like a mugging gone bad. Make it look like a interrupted burglary. Make it look like a drug deal gone wrong. Etc etc.

But the unseen videos is obviously telling them that she was targeted.

Jmo. They are now letting the perp or perps know that interrupted burglary theory is now out the window and the warrants will be served shortly.

Whoever this killer is he/she is unstable, unhinged, crazy...imo
Chances are that even when we know who this person is and the motive it will not make sense.
To get all dressed up like a swat officer to break into a church to kill or even just to rob the church is nuts.
It is normal try to understand the why, who and how because it helps us cope. However, crazy is not rational.
the reason the person broke into the church to kill Missy is not going to make sense because this is a crazy person.

Nah. I think they are strongly leaning towards it being a woman. (or a very feminine man :D )

I know you're still catching up, but what do you make of LE saying today that Missy was targeted and this wasn't a burglary gone wrong scenario?

I have got to hear a lot more evidence before I believe it. I don’t think it makes sense for anyone to do that much damage to a building, just to kill one person. Especially if you are right and the suspect is a woman. There would be so many easier ways to do it, that would have attracted less attention, and been less risky.

MesquiteO21, I've been feeling the same way. What I find interesting is the man's statements he made which were quite contradictory.

Reporter: “She posted on her FB that she was gonna be there, ... “
Husband: “Times and schedules are pre-determined, it definitely sets up an opportunity for the unknown to happen.”
-and shortly thereafter-
Reporter: “So you don’t think she was targeted?"
Husband: “It’s strictly my opinion, I don’t think she was targeted.”

Now, I'm not accusinsg anyone either, but the above conversation actually happened, that is a fact. It is in the public record. And I have a problem with his statements.

Interesting Indeed. He also said the perp was six-feet tall. Didn't we figure out the perp was 5'6" to 5'8" max compared to the door frames in the video?

The perp is way too overweight (even with padding) to pull off being a real cop.

The suspect only looks like a man there to burgle when they speed up the video.

But it does seem like a nonchalant female when the video is played at regular speed.

I live in east Texas. There are a lot of husky (overweight) LEO here.
