Technology is a massive part of that because of what can and can't be accessed... I do think there are huge problems being seen locally and nationally every day but the right help is harder to get and that is due to money... All quite blinking depressing...

Unfortunately, that's very common nowadays and I doubt it's going to change. Some people find it gratifying and others think it's just the normal thing to do because lots of people they know do it. But it is sad, especially with people who are so young.

This article seems to imply that the events that Charles and William were involved in in Rothesay occured in late 90'saround 1997 (when Allison Garrigle was murder when due to give evidence against them) so doesn't match with the timeline to fit with anything happening to AC. Although I'm aware people know things that i don't though.

Yeah, I was thinking that as well. No disrespect to the Isle of Bute because it does look lovely and I'm sure there are plenty of nice people there but with a history of crime and the apparent increase in drugs and alcohol being rife on the island, I don't know who thinks it a good idea to leave their doors unlocked... I wouldn't even leave my door unlocked if I was the only person on an island.

And now we are getting somewhere! These rings always include the scummiest of people who present as wrong 'uns but also prominent, influential people who have a veneer of respectability. It is the latter group who facilitate the ring to flourish.

I guess to most posters on here Aaron Campbell would have got a kick out of out pedo-ing the ring. Maybe others will assume he is the ringleader because he tortured a couple of cats. Some might say he has been set up by the very people involved in the ring.

On a sidenote, does anyone have information about the party granddad took his granddaughter to on the mainland?

Could it be that he did intend to go out to buy drugs, couldn't get an answer... Thought he might see if he could steal them and then came across Alesha as she slept walked? Not sure if she could get herself out of house but wondering if he stumbled across her rather than go looking for her?

Agree - have had to have a chat with my 12 yo warning her about this and reported something I saw on her phone with some behaviour looking like this kind of thing might happen - not to her, thank goodness, but a girl she knows. Didn't really think I'd have to be having a conversation so frank with her already.

But then I read things like this and think maybe it's always happened, and we just hear about it more now. I know there was a lot of sexual harassment and "sl*t shaming" of girls on the receiving end when I was at school, and that was ages ago. Sex offender pupil allowed back to school

This was said about Ted Bundy. People had a hard time describing him, or remembering significant details about his looks, and said he looked different in different photos/settings and to different people. He was also very physically attractive, charming, arrogant.

Yes, that is the bit that I have never been at ease with. No evidence from inside the McPhail flat (of him ever being there) and how on earth could he manage to enter the flat with no prior knowledge of who sleeps where? Four adults, a squeaky door to Alesha's bedroom door and no evidence of him being there whatsoever. It makes no sense. I did post earlier about a supposition of mine re this. Wasn't the same as yours, but with basic similarities. I feel that there is another aspect to this horrid event that has not been revealed and it does relate to the person mentioned by you.

Yeah, there’s a part of it that doesn’t quite make sense, I think he’s guilty but I’m sure there’s more to it.
