Thinking back to the police saying they're checking everyone who travels in and out of Bute by ferry I think this was them telling someone they have no chance of escape. The only way off the island is via one of the calmac ferry routes.

I have a sneaking suspicion that part of the delay to the presser was due to the game going to extra time and then to dramatic shoot-out!

It's very late for a press conference imho. I would have thought they'd wait until 10am tomorrow? On the other hand we have 24 hour news these days.

I wonder if they're making an arrest as we type...
