Missing kids and their empty rooms with a mention about Andrew.
Missing kids and their empty rooms

OT - What a heartbreaking article. I can't find a thread for one of the other cases mentioned, Matthew O'Reilly (or from an article I found also goes by just "Reilly.") Can anyone else find a thread for him? (If not, I'd like to start one.) TIA.

I wonder if any of the kids he met at camp the summer before lived in London? Perhaps he met someone there, didn’t stay in contact because he/she never gave Andrew their contact info., introspectively he had been thinking of that person, knew where they attended school, and had the crazy idea to show up there? Maybe that’s why he had to go on a school day and not during summer break or on the weekend? He could have been thinking that he could have been casually waiting outside that persons school and then act like he accidentally ran into them?

Regents high school is less than a mile from Kings Cross Station - Regent High School - Getting to Regent High School

Elizabeth Garrett Anderson school is also less than a mile from Kings Cross Station - Welcome To Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School

Being an introvert myself, I can say this is exactly some crazy scheme I would have tried to pull off as a teen.

What leads you to believe he went to Buckingham Palace?

For many reasons I personally believe Andrew went out for an innocent day in London but around 5pm or later in the day when he was most likely coming home shortly, someone I believe approached him and got to know him better and probably got into deep conversation to gain his trust and god knows what he did after that. I know it is a grainy image but that one of an andrew like figure at Buckingham Palace just makes me think it is him so much. The height is basically perfect compared to the statue behind him and hair colour and length is perfect. You can clearly see a black bag hanging on the persons shoulder in the same place Andrew had his hanging and can see incredibly grainy white text on the place of the shirt it would be. In my eyes that grainy image is definitely Andrew.

Andrew took the train from where he lived to Kings Cross Station, does anyone know if that was his only choice or could he have gone to a different station? I’m trying to sort out if Kings Cross was the likely destination or just a required stop on his way elsewhere? I have heard Kings Cross is a major hub.

I know the picture you are referring to. Do you think it would have been Andrew’s desire to go to Buckingham Palace or the other persons? I would think Andrew had gone there before and it wouldn’t be a spot he’d care to go but maybe it would be an easy meeting spot.

Maybe other persons because I have seen pictures and Buckingham Palace was packed on that day there was thousands of people there in one of the pictures. I wish I had a timestamp on when the image was taken again to make some form of calculation from Kings Cross and potential routes

Kings Cross is the only direct option. Depending on which part of the country you live in, trains to “London” arrive at a particular London station, and then from there you would walk or take the tube or bus to connect to your final destination.

Changes of name - The National Archives

  • You may find that proof of a change of name simply does not exist. Contrary to popular belief, it has always been possible to change your name without having to register the change with the government or any other official body. It is still perfectly legal for anyone over the age of 16 to start using a new name at any time, as long as they are not doing so for a fraudulent or illegal reason.
So Andrew could have changed his name when he reached 16 years of age in 2009.

I know someone who did that and insisted it was perfectly legal.

The other thing is that as well as the lad who looks rather like Andrew in my opinion if you pan into the photo in the article you will see that some of the lads look really young. The lad in the front of the photo drinking a bottle of something looks to be around the same age as Andrew.
Well if he went off to live in one of the several squats that the three bands lived in because he was homeless that could be how he went undetected .

Interesting it could well be him in that photo.

I think there's a very good chance that this person is him
Ref: Same nickname Andyroo
This was sent to the family via a missing peoples group and I have also discussed for some feedback and the profile was looked at sometime ago according to a spokesperson for Andrew Gosden missing page. The police looked at a number of leads and ruled each one out for whatever reason.
It was odd that on another account the Andyroo guy in question had an interesting ear like Andrew but maybe a huge co-incidence then.

No, the video I linked further up the thread in the last 2 months - someone said on there that no one else would have this ear deformation.

So this guy goes by Andy and has a similar/same ear deformity? Either this is a photoshopped pic and a troll or how can this not be him?
He is definitely not a fake but the police have already checked all the andyroo people and he is not Andrew Gosden despite having a remarkable ear.

As Andrew's disappearance is a missing persons rather than foul play suspected who is to say that Andrew didn't order a certified copy of his birth certificate once he was old enough to change his name by deedpoll. He could then apply for a new passport under his new identity or is it not that simple.

Looking at the only London CCTV of Andrew outside the station and his expression looks sad. His bag looks light so not packed for a long journey.

A thought occurred to me about Andrew's trip to London. I've always assumed Andrew bunked off school in order to make his trip to London. l suppose that needn't necessarily be the case. Bunking off might have been all he intended to do initially. Then once he did it perhaps he didn't know what to do with himself so he just decided to go on a trip. In other words was the trip was just a spur of the moment thing with no advance planning?
