As a mom to a 5 year old I can say that some parents drop and run, I personally don't but certainly the ones that know each other well (or are simply so.knackered they.need a break)
Im not sure if April was accompanied or not but its certainly a possibility that MB may have been there if his kids were and possible that April may have hopped in his car on that occasion even for just a couple of minutes.

The birthday party story was from a local businessman who commented how said it all was, that little April was at the party that his own children attended just 48 hours before the abduction. No mention of MB.

The other incident quoted from AF was that April and a couple of other children had hopped into MB's car and had a ride down the road and back sometime in the previous week. Both these stories were in MSM in the day or so after the abduction.

The 'birthday party' story -
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/missing-april-jones--went-to-birthday-party--48-hours-before-abduction.html

Family friend Phil Garrod said both of his children were at a birthday party with April on the weekend.Mr Garrod, a local businessman, said: "I've got two little girls and they were both at a birthday party with April at the weekend.

"My youngest is in the same class at school. Where she lives is where all the children play together.
"It's a safe environment, all the properties look on to where the children play.
"It's the sort of area where you drop your children off at school and everyone lingers and chats.
"They are a normal family, lovely people."

It is thought April's father used to own a hardware store in Machynlleth 'a few years ago'.

Local residents and search teams are using an image of April on her father's shoulders as the Olympic torch passed through the mid Wales town in the hope of getting more information.

Mr Garrod added: "It's terrible that we are using such a happy picture to help find a missing girl.

"There are hundreds of people waiting here to go out there. People have been up through the night and won't give up."

Residents began searching for missing April hours after news of her abduction was revealed on Twitter.
Lynne Thomas, 39, said: "We went out looking as soon as we heard about it online.
"It was raining all night but we kept looking. No one is going to stop till we find her.

Is it just me that wonders why in amongst all that the journalist had to stick in the line that it was thought PJ used to own a hardware store on Machynlleth. Like it had any relevance at all to anything or meant anything in the context of the story.

Journalist couldn't 'stick it in' if a local didn't tell them. It's no more relevant than the fact that April went to a birthday party on the weekend, but isn't it what journos do to bring a story to life? Gives readers some sort of background or profile of the main players, instead of just statistics.

I did not suggest a local had not told the journo this. I wondered why it was there, but on rereading it, youre right, it came after the line about them being a normal lovely family ij the previous paragraph, so just a bit of extra info, my bad......moving on

Don't know whether this has been mentioned before.

Cerebral palsy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I know that it was never mentioned before when they spoke of her illnesses, but Cerebral Palsy is linked to epilepsy. Don't know if it necessarily plays a part in all this.

From the link it says in a third of cases. AJ had a mild form, dont know if it could be a symptom here. Say she had a fit, how does that change anything with regard to guilt or innocence of MB or any other unknown person?/whereabouts.

April Cops: 'We'll Search Until Christmas'

Last Updated 14:12 17/10/2012
The search for missing April Jones could continue into Christmas and beyond, police have said.

Major search efforts to find the five-year-old schoolgirl are ongoing, and Dyfed Powys Police say the hunt could continue for months.

"We said goodbye to 150 officers this morning and they've been replaced by another 150 specialists," Superintendent Ian John said, speaking from Machynlleth.

"Numbers may fluctuate a bit on a daily basis. But whilst we still have viable lines of inquiry, we will continue to search.

Doesn't change anything as regards MB etc, but a hypothetical as to how things can go wrong.

I'm wondering what their viable lines of inquiry would be?

1 in 3. So it's a possibility. No mention of AJ having epilepsy, however it can by brought on by trauma, emotional stress or even sleep deprevation. A prolonged seizure can be fatal.

I just thought it was worth mentioning.

snip from above link:

"We could still be here at Christmas or the new year, we could be finished in two weeks."

imhoo they will be searching for April as long as it takes... beit a minute or until Christmas and beyond.

This whole case mystifies me, I'm still trying to get my head around the "light coloured van" turning out to be a dark coloured land rover, let alone the rest of it.

It has also been puzzling me why MB was arrested so soon, even if he had been named as a suspect I would have thought the police would have kept him under surveilence before an arrest was made. He was arrested less than 24 hours after April disapeared, I can't help thinking what if she was still alive and he had her hidden somewhere, he would more than likely have attempted to go back to her.
