I do not believe it was the boys who messaged their friends, telling them they wouldn't be coming to school. I think it was the parent/s. What do you all think ?

Very possible.
They give their school pals the sickness excuse for Friday - we then had the week end and this week was Bank Holiday plus half term. So would give SB and BM plenty of time before any of the children would be missed by friends and school.

That would show premeditated planning. The alerting to the police is rumoured to be more clear cut but that will come out in the trial. I’m not speculating or referencing anything bar the bbc on this case. Too upsetting and too many shocking twists and actions out there

She tried to kill two of her other kids too. It wasn't just those two boys targeted. I reckon the youngest two were the biological children of the charged man, personally. But it's all speculation.

That seems the most likely reason. The whole thing is so messed up. Wonder how long until they release more info officially. The speculation is hopefully worse than the reality, fingers crossed

regarding emerging sexuality. would those parents be accepting of that considering their own relationship appears to be far from the norm. is their own, alleged relationship being copied somehow? just a feeling i get, all my own opinion. i'm a mum or 3 boys, all early to mid teens, i see those 2 boys and think why? but then with the sen stuff i've seen alluded to, and then seeing/hearing one on videos just feel theres something there. maybe the mother is so deluded she tried to cure him/them.....i just don't know, its just my thoughts. i was reluctant to share to be honest

I understand what is is you are trying to say but can you link to the video that gave you this idea?

I am reminded a bit of the US case with the Turpin family. The parents seemed to reluctant to admit they had done anything wrong at first, they actually thought some of the rules they imposed were logical in the isolated setting of that house.
The parents in this case are not religious but I wonder if a similar, extremely strict regime happened at home for a while, which most people and the law would see as abuse.

Or just they’re evil, low i q with learning disabilities and problem substance misuse which has resulted in the abuse of the children.

Could be, or a combination of things. I'm not saying what they did is in any way intelligent just because they think there may be logic behind it. Abusive people convince themselves what they are doing is right for whatever reason.

A serious case review is to be held into the deaths of two boys in Sheffield, the city council has confirmed.
The review's findings will be made public once it has concluded

Review to be held into boys' deaths

As expected .... and finally, they have got the right age for BM

So it's highly likely the children were already known to children's services then.

That just makes it a whole lot worse, if that's the case. I think someone said further back in this thread that this case is going to be like the baby p case and it looks that way.
Unfortunately many cases like this do slip through the net. Social services are stretched everywhere. I’m reminded of that young girl whose death was ruled as suicide, but its clear that the stepfather was abusive. She was failed in a lot of ways. And I think this will be similar.
