Witnesses said the woman had to be talked down after going over railings
Another witness said: "Someone is at top of Tate modern, lunchtime walk not sure if they’re threatening to jump! They’ve climbed over the railings about 10 storeys Police are on site and removed the lunchtime folk."
 The Tate Modern confirmed that there would be police and drone activity in the area due to to an unrelated incident that happened earlier this month.

On August 5, a six-year-old boy from France was critically injured after being thrown 100ft from the same viewing platform .

I wonder how our Tate boy is doing, can't find any updates aside from his injuries - broken back, arms and legs, poor little fella.

There was another incident there yesterday when a woman climbed over the balcony threatening to jump. Time to glass it all in, I think. Can't have one of the country's biggest tourist attractions doubling up as a suicide spot.
He was still in hospital, I read last week, stable & recovering but still sounds to be in a bad way :(

Tate Modern fall boy 'making amazing progress'

A little bit of good news.

"A six-year-old boy who was allegedly thrown off a balcony at the Tate Modern is making "amazing progress", his family have said.

The boy, who was visiting London with his family, suffered a "deep" bleed to the brain in the fall on 4 August.

He "can't speak or move his body for the moment" but was responding to his family by smiling and laughing."

In a statement released this week, his family said he "keeps on smiling and making progress bravely", but struggled "to speak, to eat or to move his body".

"We see his efforts. We believe with all our heart that he will find the way, from his head, to do everything again," they said.

"He is very brave. He keeps on smiling and reacting to our jokes."

Some small positives.

A six-year-old boy who sustained severe injuries after allegedly being thrown from a viewing platform at Tate Modern in London has been moved out of intensive care.

[..]

In a post on a page that has raised more than £124,000 for the boy’s medical care, his parents said he was still unable to speak but he was making progress and looked like “a little knight” because of splints keeping his healing bones in place.

“He still has some metal in his body but instead of plasters he has got a full armour of splints: legs, feet, hands, arms, neck and torso,” they said. “It is impressive – he looks like a little knight, and we can take these splints off sometimes.

“He also makes some little progress – he moves his right hand more and more and arm on command (he catches us most of the time when we are nearby!) even if he feels sometimes a little bit sad when he doesn’t manage to do what he tries.

“We really hope he will speak and eat again as soon as possible, but we know that it can take months.”

At the Old Bailey this afternoon, Bravery appeared via videolink from the secure Broadmoor Hospital to plead guilty to a charge of attempted murder.

In a statement last month, the family of the injured boy shared news of progress by their “little knight” , saying: “We can now bring him outside in a wheelchair to breath fresh air.

"It's tiring for him but he really likes it, of course. He's very smiling and he laughs a lot again. He begins to move his legs since a few days, just a tiny little bit but it is really wonderful to see...!

"And just since today, he manages to make real kisses. It warms our hearts so much... Thank you all of you. We hope we will give you other good news as soon as possible."

Bravery, from west London, was remanded in custody until sentencing, and for him to undergo further psychiatric assessment.

Defending, Philippa McAntasney QC said Bravery was on the autistic spectrum and is likely to have a personality disorder.

She said: "Your lordship will know from that report he has been in Broadmoor Hospital since mid October this year.

"Dr Cumming has recommended that a report be set.

"The report states that the defendant had autistic spectrum disorder which is an enduring condition and also has obsessive compulsive disorder and is very likely that he has a personality disorder."

Bravery, from West London, who was able to be identified after he turned 18, will be sentenced on February 17 next year.

As to motive:

Teen threw boy from Tate Modern 'to be on TV'

A teenager said he threw a boy from the 10th floor of the Tate Modern in London because he wanted to be on the TV news.

After his arrest he told police he planned in advance to hurt someone at the South Bank gallery, to highlight his autism treatment on TV.

In his police interview, Bravery said he had to prove a point "to every idiot" who said he had no mental health problems, asking police if it was going to be on the news.

"I wanted to be on the news, who I am and why I did it, so when it is official no-one can say anything else."

More about the victim and his family:

The boy suffered a bleed to the brain in the five-storey fall. His injuries have been described as life-changing.

The child's family said their son continued to require intensive rehabilitation as he had not recovered mobility in his limbs or full brain function.

"He is constantly awoken by pain and he can't communicate that pain or call out to hospital staff.

"Life stopped for us four months ago. We don't know when, or even if, we will be able to return to work, or return to our home, which is not adapted for a wheelchair.

"We are exhausted, we don't know where this all leads, but we go on," they added, thanking supporters.

A six-year-old boy who was thrown off the 10th floor of the Tate Modern has started to speak again, his family has revealed.

[...]

"He pronounces one syllable after another, not all of them, and most of the time we have to guess what he means but it's better and better," they wrote on their page, which has raised more than €169,000 (£143,500).

They also said he was now able to move his arms and legs but it meant "he feels more pain" as he regains sensation in his body.

"It is very difficult to see... but he is very courageous and we stay strong for him."
