not to mention the cost
I know her parents would have. helped her out, but I think this seems a bit much.
I suspect that, at least for some, they were paid for because of what she might be taking back and forth or, as Vixey said, for the contacts

I think I read somewhere She had an inheritance given, & in the electoral roll she lived in thirlwell road or drive which belonged to her dad, she lived there with PMG before she went to HR on her own/mortgage

thanks for letting me know about her money...im genuinely pleased. to be enlightened, even it runs against my general point.

as. for the number of men she slept with...I dont think it matters.

but what we do know is that she diid sleep with at least one married man..probably more ...and that she was at least good friends with some dodgy types.

as ive said, the numbers dont matter...but both categories could provide motives.

sorry, ive n0t put that very well....obviously, the greater the number, the more potential suspects there are.

but, what I meant to say, is that is not a moral statement....ive no idea of the number and I only care about it in terms of suspects...im not looking at it as a moral issue
Also, it could be that she was killed by a man she hadn’t slept with...

But just wondered if it was popular it was back in Claudias day or if it was a bit of a dive. But more importantly did Claudia frequent it
@keep-it-real Earlier today I spoke to a friend who’s the same age CL would be now and who’s more familiar with the York clubbing scene than I am. Looks like the VDL was, and still is, a bit of a dive...

oh yes, its certainly true that, whether the perp was a man or a woman, it could be that it had nothing to do with her sex life .

in fact, id be inclined to think that it wasn't....the coincidence with what seems to be a significant drugs drop makes me think that.

but, obviously, I can't pretend to know

I for my part can't think of a reason, CL got disappeared somehow because of problems within the drug scene. MOO

with the drugs scene, a reason. could be that she couldn't keep her mouth shut when shed been drinking, or that, when drunk, shed badly insulted one of the major players.

or maybe everyone was very tense because of what was happening and she started getting on someones nerves and they lashed out.

or maybe she took or was given....accidentally or not...an overdose or some funny stuff.

im not sure if someone hinted in a post that the Cyprus gang were trying to muscle in on the normal channels the Heworth lot used

there are probably other drug related scenarios possible

maybe some drugs or money for drugs had gone missing...maybe she was acting as a mule and wanted more money or was complaining about the price of the stuff she was consuming.

I know this is only my opinion but I dont think the main motive was to do with her sex life...it may have been an aggravating, contributory factor, but I dont think it was. the trigger

the only exception I could think of to this would be jk going into meltdown
and if you'd consider her being murdered because of something she gave as a present. to dan as to do with her sex life...im thinking of jealousy or revenge acts in that category

Basically we haven’t got clue even 11 years later !!
Fine state of affairs we find ourselves in Laurel

dive noun (PLACE)
[ C ] informal
a restaurant, hotel, bar, or place for entertainment or social activities that is unpleasant because of the condition of the building or the type of people that go there:
Truth is there isn’t much choice in York as far as night clubs are concerned. I remember going to a couple of similar places in the ‘90s when I first moved here. They can be good fun if you’re quite drunk or want a laugh and a boogie with the girls (as in CL’s case, I suspect). People with higher standards and money would probably go to Leeds or Manchester.

No it's not so bad, they played music but I don't know how many people live in the immediate vicinity/how far sound travels. All of which can be mitigated with the best version of everything technologically.
Anyway I went there with some Italians recently. The students, well early twenties or younger looking people, at Bobo Lobo were let in before us, well they skipped the queue. I jokingly called them Karen, which in my vocab is code for "Cossacks."

9 grand a year to study mostly online until things change, pretty disgraceful but I think the powers that be/do want people to blame academics/academia and intellectualism generally. At the same time, specialism aside it's a good idea for all people to be as literate and able minded as possible.
I think the main issue in society is the ideological vs the practical, what you believe to be morally right vs your proximity to making that happen/living amongst the even unintended consequences in a practical and political sense and who might have to do that in your place, and why, and what that could mean for you if eventually 'they' come knocking at your door too.
Job/life satisfaction is also important ofc.
Maybe this is a war against the needy or overly social, or in favour of. For me it's best to appreciate people in a closed off way, I'm still a scrounge though.....

And no recourse to UC if I understand things correctly, for students
