100% agree with you - that’s basically what my post was saying.

Imagine being her family in this situation IF he has killed her seeing all these positive comments regarding him.
Right! It's all very much 'poor Daniel' but barely a word said about Lauren (that I've seen anyway)

This is also why I wonder if it isn't quite clear cut. Surely if it was Murder-suicide her family would have said something?
Not necessarily. They could be waiting until the official cause of death is revealed.

I agree that it is looking like a murder/suicide. I think the lack of information is because they've yet to determine which was which.
It seems that the police had been called out to the house previously with regards to the couple:

"Staffordshire Police has also referred the incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) as officers were recently in contact with the pair."

Paramedic Channel 4 star found dead beside woman as murder probe launched

Friends of Lauren now posting on social media. Maybe were waiting before saying anything.

MOO and sorry for any offence but I also notice friends/family of the two only write about their loved one and not the other. Wonder if perhaps there was a volatile relationship that family/friends didn't approve of, could also be why police had contact with them previously... all MOO

I tend to agree. It would appear that there was problems in their relationship. If he was still sharing the house with his ex, maybe this dynamic contributed and escalated the issues they were facing.

Police statement
We can now confirm that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths of a woman and a man in Cannock.

On Tuesday (25 June), we were alerted by our colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service who were at an address in Alpine Drive in Hednesford.

Sadly, 22-year-old Lauren Evans, from Bridgend, South Wales, and 24-year-old Daniel Duffield, from Cannock, were found inside.

Post-mortems were concluded today (Friday 28 June). The cause of death is a matter for an inquest in due course.

As we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths, a file is being prepared for the coroner.

Specialist officers are continuing to support the families of those involved.

Detective Superintendent Nicki Addison, from our Major Investigations Department, said: “This incident has understandably devastated the families and loved ones of those involved.

“We’d like to reiterate that the families have asked for their privacy to be respected at this tragic time. Please respect that. And again, we’d like to remind you that speculation is unhelpful and hurtful to the families – and can hinder our investigation.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has given us information. We expect the scene to be released once we’ve finished all of our investigative work and forensic examination.”

You can report information that may help our investigation via the Major Incident Public Portal here: Public Portal

I realise the police need to complete their procedures but it sounds like they already have a good idea what’s happened. I wonder whether the tributes to the young man in this case are appropriate or ill-placed. I know what I am thinking and will hold my hands up if I have it the wrong way around.

The Metro article I read said the police had referred themselves over previous contact and that he was understood to have been struggling with mental illness, so it wasn’t too hard to read between the lines. That being the case, the eulogies that were being published made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

A paramedic found dead alongside a woman at his home was the star of Channel 4's 999: On the Frontline.

Police have launched a murder probe into the deaths of Daniel Duffield, 24, and Lauren Evans, 22, who were found by Duffield's colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service at his home in Cannock, Staffordshire on Tuesday. The pair are yet to be formally identified.

Paying tribute to her crew mate, fellow ambulance worker Ellie - who appeared alongside Mr Duffield in the Channel 4 documentary as a student paramedic - said she is 'still trying to come to terms' with the tragedy.

Millions watched Mr Duffield on the eleventh series of the show, which follows West Midlands Ambulance crews as they respond to 999 calls across the region.

It comes as student mental health nurse Ms Evans, from Bridgend, South Wales, was today pictured for the first time.

Staffordshire Police last night referred itself to the police watchdog over recent contact.

Wow ! Only saw him on this show a couple of days ago. How very tragic

A second police force has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) following the deaths of a man and a woman in Staffordshire.

South Wales Police said it had made the referral due to previous contact, following a similar announcement from Staffordshire Police on Wednesday.

An inquest hearing opened on Wednesday into Ms Evan's death, but a cause has not yet been revealed.

Staffordshire Police said her death is being treated as murder and no other parties are being sought in their investigation.

There we go. Very sad. Rest in peace, Lauren.

Such an unnecessary death. Again, I wish these men would just kill themselves!!
