The charge sheet confirms as well as being charged with the murder of Elle Edwards, Chapman faces counts of attempted murder where the alleged victims are named as Kieran Salkeld and Jake Duffy.
Chapman is also accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm against Harry Loughran, Nicholas Speed and Liam Carr.
  • Connor Chapman, 22, of Houghton Road, Woodchurch has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and three counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life and handling stolen goods, namely a Mercedes A Class.

The charge sheet also confirms Chapman is charged with the possession of a firearm namely a converted Scorpian Sub Machine gun with intent by means thereof to endanger life.

Chapman to appear before magistrates
Chapman will appear before a panel of magistrates chaired by Susie Haggstrom.
Prosecuting is Angela Blackmore and the defendant is represented by Danielle Gibbons.

Sent to crown court
The court has confirmed that Chapman will now appear before Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, January 16 at 10.30am.
He is remanded into custody ahead of this hearing.



 
Connor Chapman, 22, appeared at Wirral Magistrates' Court on Friday morning and was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday.

As well as murder, he was charged with two counts of attempted murder, of Jake Duffy and Kieran Salkeld, and three counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.



Re the inquest
A provisional cause of death was given as gunshot wounds to the head.
Ms Bhardwaj said she would release Ms Edwards' body to her family.
Toxicology analysis would be carried out before a full post-mortem report, she said.
The inquest was adjourned to May 5, when Ms Bhardwaj said there would be an update on the police investigation.





 
The pub where Elle was fatally shot has announced it will be closed today as a mark of respect for the 26-year-old and her family.

In a statement on Facebook, the Lighthouse Inn wrote: "We just wanted to let you know that we’ve decided not to open The Lighthouse on Wednesday 25th January as a mark of respect to Elle Edwards and her family on the day of her funeral.

"Elle and her family have remained very much in our thoughts over these past few weeks and even more so right now.

"May she rest in peace."

The pub had remained closed for 12 days following the shooting on Christmas Eve.




 
CHARGE | Detectives investigating the murder of Elle Edwards in Wallasey on Christmas Eve have arrested three people today, Wednesday 8 March 2023.

Thomas Waring, 20, of Private Drive, Barnston, Wirral has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, and assisting an offender. Waring will appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court tomorrow morning, Thursday 9 March.

Following further warrants, a man from Heswall and a woman from Tranmere, both 23, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. Both suspects have now been released on bail.

Connor Chapman is due to go on trial today charged with the murder of Elle Edwards.

The beautician was shot dead outside the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey, Wirral, on Christmas Eve last year.
Merseyside Police have previously stated the 26-year-old was not the intended target of the shooting shortly before midnight on December 24, 2022, which also saw four men injured.
