Sentenced at last!

Adebolajo got life without parole - a whole-life term. Adebowale got a minimum of 45 years.

Neither was present in court, there was a scuffle apparently and one had to be pinned to the ground. I have to say, I'm glad these two are unlikely to be free to walk the streets again.

I hope Lee's family can now grieve in peace and begin to recover from this drawn-out ordeal.

Thank you!

Just heard on the radio the pair yelled over the judge, caused huge distress to Lee's loved ones and Adebolajo had to be carried out and down a flight of stairs by the team of NINE security officers guarding them. They really don't seem to think they've done anything wrong and don't like anybody saying so....

Lee's mother and stepfather may be making a statement soon.

The family's statement was read on their behalf. They believe 'Justice has been done'.

Rebecca Rigby already told the court in her victim impact statement how her and Lee's little boy will have to grow up seeing 'images of his dad that no son should have to endure'.

The vicar who conducted Lee's marriage has also spoken out about how communities need to come closer together because 'indifference' has led to 'cultural disengagement'.

I am certain he means well and is probably right. Just not in this case, in my opinion. Those two are too dangerous to fit into any community, I believe. I think they'll have problems in prison too.

A video report which includes an interview with two leading psychiatric experts (one who examined Anders Brevjick(sp)) and Adebolajo's brother. I found it extremely disturbing and difficult to listen to what brother had to say.

He had the right to say it I suppose but I would have hoped compassion for a grieving family would have stopped him. I hope Lee's family never get to see it.

The psychiatrist pointing out the moment adebolajo said 'our soldiers' was very interesting.

This was a set up by our Secret Services. Played by actors. Watch this and be very angry, nay horrified, with the way in which we are lied to and manipulated.

Yes Fusilier Lee Rigby died. But we have not been told the truth of how he died or who killed him.
The road was closed off to traffic before it happened. It was acted and the blood added to the pavement afterwards.
Old ladies did not wander along the street with shopping trolleys, past a decapitated body lying in the road and a maniac waving his axe around.

It's all to generate fear of (non-existent) terror attacks. To justify military strikes abroad.

Why isn't the man above splattered with blood ?

It was amazing to see that young woman pulling her shopping cart walk across the street and right by one of the killers who was talking to the camera, she will certainly feel some fear when she sees herself on TV and realize what she was witnessing!
What a horrible thing to witness, and the woman who got off the bus and confronted the killers, talking to them, she had some guts!
So sorry for what this soldier's family will go through now. So Sad.

I struggle to believe it took 20 minutes for armed police to arrive - there is a cop shop 200 yards away and this area is not exactly without it's troubles so there is generally a good police presence on the streets. I work there on a regular basis and can't recall a time that I've not seen a police presence either in a car or on foot. Armed police are aplenty at the crown courts a couple of miles to the east.

There is no denying that racial tension is bubbling under the surface pretty much throughout this country and it is not helped by the media highlighting the nationality or religion of the perpetrators of almost every crime they report. They are stoking the slowly burning fire and I fear it is not going to take an awful lot for it to flare up and get out of control.

Arming our citizens is not the answer. We have to remind ourselves that the people who are perpetrating this sort of crime are in the minority. However, I am fearful about the repercussions. Two mosques were attacked last night - one being just 5 miles from me. Again, the people who are carrying out these attacks are in the minority, but I fear the groups of retaliators will grow at a faster rate and the relative anonymity of a riot can appeal to many.

Mosque attacks

I couldn't believe the people milling around, the shopping trolley lady who walked past a corpse and then his murderer, whose hands are bloodstained, being interviewed, yes interviewed right after murdering someone in broad daylight in a heavily populated city, carrying bloody lethal weapons, knives and machetes.
And people took pictures, interviewed the perps....

A couple of weeks ago I spent the day in Whitechapel and Brick Lane, I did not feel at all threatened even though it was like being in Q8 again, halal butchers, mosques etc. Similar to when it as filled with Syagogues. People were friendly and great ethnic food to buy.I spent the whole day and did not feel threatened in any way

MI5 asked Woolwich murder suspect Michael Adebolajo if he wanted to work for them about six months before the killing, a childhood friend has said.

Abu Nusaybah told BBC Newsnight his friend - one of two men arrested after Drummer Lee Rigby's murder in south-east London on Wednesday - had rejected the approach from the security service.

The BBC could not obtain any confirmation from Whitehall sources.

Mr Nusaybah was arrested at the BBC after giving the interview.

MI5 attempted to recruit one of the Woolwich murder suspects as an informer six months ago - according to a childhood friend who was arrested shortly after making the claim.

We should trust our instincts more, and question what we are fed.
