And he's not even appearing by video link!!

I am not 100% on that Janeh, but I am hoping it will happen

LaDoz has a housemate who has offered to answer questions on this subject (in an earlier thread) as she is an expert on wills etc . I did post a question in Thread 10 (or was it 9) which remains unanswered (but can be picked up from my Profile) and I did not like to press any further. It could be that LaDoz missed the post as the board has been moving on as such a pace.

Ian Stewart will not appear to face sentencing

Some of the jurors are now coming into the courtroom. Ian Stewart has chosen not to appear in person, or via video link for his sentence, so will be sentenced by Judge Andrew Bright in his absence.

that just shows the measure of the man doesn't it

Having learned a bit about 'disappearances" thanks to some famous cases, I really think this is unlikely. Especially in light of how UK police have significantly improved their media control since a couple of cases I won't mention!

The police develop competing theories of the case, and then as they investigate evidence will tend to support one theory - showing them where the truth lies.

In this case the theories were obvious from the start

1. A fight
2. An affair
3. Suicide
4. Stranger murder
5. IS whot dunnit

Obviously fears over Helen heightened swiftly when she was not using her phone or bank accounts - meaning 3 , 4 and 5 become more likely.

3 swiftly becomes unlikely when no body turns up.

So I think we can see that IS would have been one of the main theories of the case, if not the main theory of the case from very early in the investigation.

Mr J, hate to tell you this but your beloved "Investigative Journalist" Mark Williams Thomas was in the Daily Mail yesterday with an awesome new theory on the Maddie McCann case. She wandered off by herself don'tcha know!

Anyway, just thought I'd brighten your day my Antipodean buddy! ;)

Judge Bright is now start his sentencing

Ian Stewart, you’ve been convicted after a trial of murdering your fiance Helen Bailey who was excitedly making arrangements for your wedding while you were planning how to kill her, hide her body, and explain her disappearance.

Thank you Sheila, I was going to say the same, balloon releases and those awful lit lanterns cause massive damage to the environment and to wild animals and sea creatures. I'm totally against them. I like the idea someone suggested of planting snowdrops. They last forever and I may do exactly that later in the year when the time is right.

Best way to plant snowdrops for a better chance of success is 'in the green' rather than the little brown bulbs. At end of Feb/March when the flowers have died off, but the foliage is still green, you'll find them available (generally from more specialised growers on line) from then on for a few weeks. x

'You brought her life to a cruel end'

She was so devoted to her dog Boris that you decided you must also kill him. Helen was only 51 and at the height of her success as a writer when you brought her life to a cruel end and dumped her body in a foul smelling cesspit for her body to decompose.

Aaah GOOD! Judge mentions Boris as well!

That's as good as whole life for this monster, wouldn't be surprised if he strings himself up, he's too much of a coward to do bird.
