[h=3]Stewart admits Helen hadn't gone anywhere[/h]T: Helen hadn’t gone anywhere of her free will at all had she?
S: No
T: She hadn’t wished to be anywhere else, she wasn’t looking for space and time
S: No, but at the time my mind was totally screwed
T: No, at this time your mind was working perfectly well. This is you continuing the lie that she’d gone, that it was her choice to go, and that you were respecting her wishes.
Stewart doesn’t answer.

Ahh. Must have missed that in his rabble [emoji37]

Handily this was why he didn't report Helen as missing until the Friday, when Nick gave him permission to ring the police "if he really must", after 3pm.

[h=3]Stewart say message were for Helen[/h]T: You were well aware of your electronic footprint, that’s why you took the router away from Broadstairs?
S: No
T: These texts were for the police to find?
S: They weren’t, they were for Helen
T: She’d been kidnapped?
S: Yes, but I still hoped to get a message to her
T: So anyone looking at this would have the impression of someone whose lover had disappeared and you’re anxiously exhibited her love to her?
S: Yes. The texts weren’t meant for anyone else. I hadn’t made contact with Helen at that stage, I was getting desperate.

but HE had her phone. WTF IS is making a total balls up of his story

[h=3]Prosecutor says message was to give impression Stewart was trying to contact Helen[/h]T: I’m going to suggest the obvious answer here is that you’re trying to continue the lie, run with the story that Helen had just gone away. And if she was never found ever, because she remained in the bottom of that cess pit for years, all we’ll know is that she’d gone away and you’d done your best to contact her.
S: I wasn’t thinking about that all. I didn’t know that at the time did I?
T: On April 19 you text her ‘please please call, I won’t tell anyone’ why did you write that?
S: I think I was trying to contact Joe and Nick. I was trying to get hold of Helen many times.

[h=3]Stewart denies 'cynical plan'[/h]T: You told Helen to contact the police, really? She’s in the hands of kidnappers and you send a text to her ‘contact the police’?
S: It was logical
T: You’re just trying to leave a message behind.
S: I wasn’t thinking along those lines at all.
T: How would the police ‘stop all the fuss?’
S: You might not believe it but my mind was a mess
T: I suggest your mind was in perfect working order, and this was a cynical plan.
S: There was never any plan

Well lucky you! The cool change has only just hit SE QLD in the last hour. The apparent temp did not fall below 30 all last night. I spent an hour on the Harvey Normal web site last night choosing an air conditioner because I am not putting up with this any more! It back to mid 30s this week end.

I am SE QLD too. The rain has been bliss! here's to justice prevailing

[h=3]Stewart denies leaving false message trail[/h]T: Does it logically look as if you’re trying to run with this lie? That you’re trying to expand the lie that she’d gone away on her own?
S: No, you’re wrong.
T: You’re leaving these texts behind for someone to read.
S: No, I was just trying to contact Helen
T: Why are you saying ‘I just want you back’ to someone in the hands of kidnappers?
S: I wasn’t thinking

[h=3]Message was to show police involved[/h]T: You’re telling Helen Bailey, and the kidnappers potentially, that police could stop all the fuss, yes?
S: It was to say to all of them that the police were well and truly involved by this point
T: Helen was in the hands of kidnappers, did you seriously want her to contact the police?
S: Yes
T: Did you want to tell the kidnappers you contacted the police?
S: They already knew I’d done this

[h=3]Stewart denies losing phone was 'convenient'[/h]T: You lost one of your phones didn’t you? Conveniently?
S: Not conveniently, no, but I did lose it
T: You were texting and calling Helen until May 5.
S: Yes
T: And all that time, anyone looking at this would be thinking your lover had disappeared and you were anxiously trying to contact her?

[h=3]Stewart accused of 'acting' suicidal thoughts[/h]T: This was a complicated charade you had to carry on with? S: I’ve already said that, yes T: You told your doctor and mental health professionals that you wanted to commit suicide in context of your lover disappearing? S: I thought about this more than once yes T: You were acting this weren’t you, acting the part? S: No, I wasn’t

Trimmer is using very different tactics today - a barrage of questions - going for the jugular.

[h=3]Stewart did not tell police about cess pit[/h]T: There were a lot of searches at your home
S: Yes
T: DId you walk sergeant Oliphant past the cess pit in your garage, without telling him about it?
S: More than one policeman walked past it
T: Did you ever tell any police officer, walking past it, about the cess pit in the garage?
S: The cess pit near crossed my mind, until my second arrest
T: You wanted to keep police out of the garage as much as you could
S: No
T: You tried to dissuade them, saying they wouldn’t find anything in the garage?
S: That was specifically about electrical devices

[h=3]Stewart says he was 'exhausted'[/h]T: Is there any reason we don’t seeing you frantic and concerned about Helen in your police interviews?
S: I was exhausted. They were just two interviews of out of I don’t know how many
There will now be a break until 12pm, due to a legal matter the judge wants to discuss with counsel.

Oooh a legal matter from the judge! This could be very interesting.

Or it could be nothing lol.

I hope we get to hear what it is after.
