[h=3]Stewart assumed Helen would be 'Back Friday'[/h]T: You disobeyed their instruction to contact Helen for a message that would have no purpose at all?
S: Yes, I wanted her to know I was thinking of her
T: Why did you send Helen a relatively pointless ‘*advertiser censored*’ and choose to send her nothing else for the rest of the week?
S: I assumed she would come back Friday

[h=3]Phone only link to kidnappers[/h]T: No frantic pleas to the kidnappers, tell me how much you want, what can I do? How can I help?
S: At that time I thought she would be back on Friday
T: If this is true this is the only line of contact you had with Nick and Joe, this phone.
S: Yes
T: But you did nothing
S: No

[h=3]Stewart 'laying out story'[/h]T: What you were laying out here was a story of someone who had gone away that you dearly wanted back. That’s what you were doing. The ‘*advertiser censored*’ are the x’s of someone who had been left behind. I love you, that’s what they say isn’t it?
S: Yes

I'm confused, Strimmer is going on about texting H but he already established the phone is in IS back pocket all week? Have I missed something? I thought it was a lot later that NiJo *gave* him a burner?

T: The sale of the flat in the north could wait, couldn’t it?
S: It certainly could but we would have lost the buyer
T: You could have found another one
S: Yes
T: That was her flat, her decision, not yours
S: It was our decision
T: it was her decision, her money

Go Strimmer!

[h=3]Stewart says he had to maintain story[/h]Mr Trimmer is now pointing out messages Stewart sent to Helen’s brother, John Bailey.
T: This is the situation of you and Helen not being able to speak to each other. Anyone who reads these texts were meant to understand John Bailey might see Helen, and if she does to contact you.
S: I was just trying to maintain that lie, yes
T: This has got very complicated hasn’t it?
S: Yes. I was going to maintain the appearance of what I had to go with
T: You didn’t have to go with this at all, this was your lie

[h=3]Worry must be 'enormous' - prosecution[/h]T: You texted Helen Bailey’s phone ‘*advertiser censored*’ and on April 15, which says ‘I’m really worried about you, you didn’t go to Broadstairs, I’ve gone to the police I had no choice’. Did you try any other way to contact Helen?
S: No
T: Your worry must have been enormous, and the thing you’re going to tell us was their distinct instruction from Joe and Nick not to try and contact Helen, but you did. Why?
S: I felt the need to try I guess.
T: What did that achieve? S: I hoped Helen had seen them

This is just embarrassing and so child-like! :(

Yeah he still has the phone till the 16th when he goes to throw the phone into the sea... oops I mean goes to meet them in broadstairs to hand over the apparenlty simless phone

[h=3]'Utter harm' to brother[/h]T: This was utter harm and total deception of Helen’s brother, when you could have used him to help sort out these people, share the burden?
S: Yes. it was an option I didn’t take unfortunately
T: You knew none of these texts to Helen were never going to be answered. You had her phone. What you’re doing here is setting this up on the record, you knew police wanted to see your phone, and would see your texts to John, Helen and others. And you look on this record as someone who is very concerned about their missing lover?
S: I was very concerned
T: Whereas in fact you put Helen down the cess pit days before, and now you’re running with this lie. You’re developing it aren’t you?
S: No
T: One of your critical mistakes was that Helen Bailey’s phone connected with the router in
Broadstairs. You told us you went down there, plugged the phone in and went to sleep?
S: Yes
T: And the minute you put the phone on it would connect, if there was a sim card in it, to the network?
S: Not necessarily in that cottage
T: It connected to the wifi, but nothing else
S: Yes
T: It didn’t for instance have a sudden flood of texts coming to it. You know that Helen’s friends had sent texts, you sent texts, and they hadn’t been received.
S: Yes

His story is all over the place. From the updates it's as though strimmer is trying to show just HOW all over the place it is. It's a mess

[h=3]Stewart denies removing sim from phone[/h]T: Can you remember when you took it off charge, and wondered out from Broadstairs to Margate to give the phone to Joe?
S: Yes, I switched the phone off when I left the Broadstairs cottage
T: You took the sim card out, that’s the reason you didn’t want police searching for sim cards in your house
S: No
T: Police told you that the sim card was one thing they wanted to look for.
S: Yes, I’d just had enough by then. They’d looked beforehand, everywhere.

He claimed last week that he was texting the phone he had so that when he gave it to NiJo Helen would see the texts.

No, Nick always said she'd be back Friday on the Monday that she was taken. Considerate chap that he is.

I think his story was that the made up kidnappers did tell him she'd be back friday but then turned up without her and made him look for her phone (thumping him as he looked of course). think it was then that he spoke to her on her phone when she was definitely alive, and not dead in the cesspit at all, honest.

[h=3]Stewart say message were for Helen[/h]T: You were well aware of your electronic footprint, that’s why you took the router away from Broadstairs?
S: No
T: These texts were for the police to find?
S: They weren’t, they were for Helen
T: She’d been kidnapped?
S: Yes, but I still hoped to get a message to her
T: So anyone looking at this would have the impression of someone whose lover had disappeared and you’re anxiously exhibited her love to her?
S: Yes. The texts weren’t meant for anyone else. I hadn’t made contact with Helen at that stage, I was getting desperate.
