BBC NEWS... They say the snow covered body was found in Longwood Lane, the snow fell on December the 18th, so according to the police the body must have been there before 18th.

The snow-covered body of Miss Yeates was discovered in Longwood Lane by a couple out walking their dog. Post-mortem tests showed she had been strangled.
Mr Jones said the severe weather when Miss Yeates' body was left outside had made forensic analysis more difficult.
He said: "The significant snowfall in the early hours of Saturday December 18 has a considerable impact on this and I am working with numerous forensic specialists to determine the timings."
Miss Yeates was last seen at about 2000 GMT on 17 December after she had been drinking with colleagues in the Ram pub in Park Street in the city.

Not sure about what course RS is studying, but I see that Swansea (University of Wales) term ends 17th December. It's plausible that RS might have been making her way back to Hampshire for the Christmas break at that time.

Since Bristol is on the way to Hampshire, it could have been possible for them to meet up.

I'm not accusing RS of anything - just wondering about a few things:

Why did JY call RS during her walk home laden with shopping to discuss meeting up on Christmas eve when she might have left it til she got home?

Why did JY leave her colleagues after drinks when she did - were the others still socialising when she left them to walk home? If so was she going home to prepare to meet up with others?

Good Work - what a coincidence they broke up on the 17th Dec exactly the same day as Joanna was last seen alive.

Swansea to Bristol

According to the routefinder this journey is 3miles longer than if travelling from Ampfield, yet 24min faster due to the speed limit (motorway 70mph) being faster. Total est journey was 1hr 30min, & i would say take at least 15mins off that & we are looking at just over an hour.

Yes it is very much possible she could of made this journey easily that evening after the phone call.

Put it like this, if this murder was not committed by CJ or GR then i would be making RS my prime suspect.

In case you are going on what I said, just to clarify I seem to remember it was Swansea. It may have been elsewhere in Wales but pretty sure it was Wales. Sorry - can't find the original article where I read this.

Excellent question. The two bottles of cider purchase speaks to it as well.

I thought it had snowed again and looked for it last night but only found snow on the 18th. The internet isn't exactly o'er-brimming with sites recording yesterday's snowfall amounts! (Still haven't found an exact total fall for this second snow.)

As for the pizza, I put it in a long line of "Hmmm....evidently the constabulary was off the mark on Jefferies - so what else may they have wrong?" Very possibly they have much right, but I was all set to believe they had their man and thus everything comes into play again when it appears perhaps they didn't.

I wouldn't rule Jefferies out entirely though - he did have opportunity to clean the crime scene as well and his car.

Also, finding his DNA in Jo's flat wouldn't be out of the ordinary seeing as he owned it.

Think I saw somewhere Jo had only lived there since November 2010. If so, could that be relevant? Someone in that street taking a shine to her?

October/November they moved in i believe, some papers say October others say November ?? It was their second home together.

What about the previous tenant that had recently moved out of the flat ? They would of had a key ? They might kept a key ?

I regularly phone freinds and family when walking home/places... it relieves the boredom and makes the walk go quicker. Also once I get in I usually like to relax/watch TV/go online rather than chat on the phone. She was hardly laiden with shopping either.

I often call friends on walks home. It makes the journey go quicker. I get bored easily! I don't see this as odd at all. It also makes me feel a bit safer I guess to know that there is someone on the other end of the phone on my walk home.

Excellent question. The two bottles of cider purchase speaks to it as well.

I also don't see the two bottles of cider as odd. Can anyone remember if it has been mentioned what brand it was? I'm guessing they were 500ml bottles which is quite common in the UK in shops. I will quite often by two - even if I only have the intention of drinking one and pop one in the fridge for my boyfriend or save it for another night.

Also there are brands such as Brothers cider that do nice flavoured ciders that are quite weak. I definitely wouldn't think twice about buying a couple of bottles of these.

I still don't think there has been anything released that makes it seem like the friend has done it but not sure why I think it

So CCTV caught JY at 8.10 at Waitrose

Then Phonecall to RS at 8.30 (RS says they spoke for 15 mins approx)

http://swns.com/last-person-to-spea...ng-bristol-womans-christmas-plans-221230.html

Then she goes to Tesco (CCTV 8.40)

Then liquor store

It always struck me as odd that JY didn't get all she needed at Waitrose - interesting that after the phonecall she then got pizza and 2 ciders........ Hmmm. I know for a fact that I'd get everything at one store.

Given what GR said about her mobile phone habits - non-contact etc. I think it is a bit odd. Also she was carrying (in Tesco video) a rucksack, plastic carrier bag with what looks like a bottle of wine plus a smaller black bag...

Please update me guys - who has been named a POI/suspect in this case?

Thanks!

Excellent question. The two bottles of cider purchase speaks to it as well.

They were only two small bottles though - not enough for a party!

But!

I often wondered why Jo visited three shops when she could have bought everything in the first shop, Waitrose.

She bought the pizza and cider after she spoke to Rebecca so perhaps they were planning to meet up at Jo's and that why she stopped to buy these provisions.

But why not buy the cider in the Tesco as well as the pizza?

Perhaps purchasing the cider was another after thought and she never considered buying it when she bought the pizza.

Jo was quite small and petite and sporty - I don't see her as being the pizza guzzling, cider swigging type, tbh unless she was planning to share it.

But I don't see it being a woman or her friend Rebecca.

Jo's landlord, Christopher Jefferies, was held for questioning for three days but then released on police bail.

It appears at this time that the investigation is looking elsewhere.

Just the landlord Chris Jefferies but he has been released on bail and without charge.

Agreed on the swigging/guzzling. Excellent point on purchases post-RS call. The friend has to be on the radar of possibilities, I agree.

Maybe the reason for visiting 3 different shops is quite simple , the Cider is cheaper at Bargain Booze, she wanted a particular Pizza or something vegetarian & we dont yet know what she bought in Waitrose ?? Will they be telling us if she made a purchase in Waitrose ?? Maybe she bought a pudding or something ??

I agree that it isn't strange for her to have gone to the three shops.

Not sure how many people are aware of this but Tesco is a standard cheapy supermarket over here.

Waitrose is considered a bit nicer, sells a few more unique things and is more expensive. There are things that I would go to Waitrose for that I wouldn't be able to get in Tesco such as Bulgar wheat. Also the ingredients stocked in Waitrose are often considered better quality.

Bargain Booze sells cheap booze (as the name says).

I agree it could just be as simple as she went to three different shops to get three different things. I find it strange that we've not yet been told what she purchased in Waitrose though.

Anyone find any reports as to the outcome of Jo's friend R's interview by police? They would HAVE to have interviewed R. She talked with Jo on the phone as she walked to her flat. Anyone know if they released any info on what she told police?

I would be very surprised if Jo's boyfriend was guilty. I do not think he was involved. And that says a lot coming from me, Mrs. Hang Em' High, lol, always suspectin' the husband/boyfriend, lol.

Yeah, there are loads of things that people are saying are weird which are things I do regularly. I live in a suburb with a few small supermarkets and a couple of off licences/greengrocers etc. I will regularly visit more than one and get things from different shops that I could have got in one. Did she definitely buy anything in Waitrose? Perhaps they didn't have any pizzas she fancied so she went elsewhere? Happens to me most times I go for a pizza!

Most of the time we go to the off licence for drinks when we could have got them from the supermarket... There's more choice, it's cheaper and there are usually offers on. Plus she bought cider... The small supermarkets are notorious for only stocking crappy cider such as magners/bulmers (cheap generic brands).

As for leaving the pub early.. she was with work friends, not her proper friends. We all know how it can be on work pub visits.. often it's people you're not that bothered about being out with but are all just there to be polite. I usually slip away from such dos a bit earlier than I usually would, and yes, I would also probably buy a drink on the way home for a lazy evening in.
