I reckon the *advertiser censored* has a memory card belonging to his camera hidden somewhere in his flat, like under the floorboards. LE, please turn the place upside down.
And btw, 20 years does not seem like a very long time. Will he actually serve the whole of the sentence? Will he be put in solitary? How does all of that work in the UK, assuming you're stuck with him?

Just a thought about his computer use - even a techno-idiot knows that a history can be retrieved by technicians with fairly standard skills, let alone forensic IT specialists. Arrogant beyond belief to think that as a close neighbour he wouldn't come under some scrutiny, don't you think ?

I am trying to fathom how someone who appears (on paper) to be so intelligent is anything but when covering his tracks? I wonder where the arrogance stems from - he's got to be mentally ill.

Not sure but I'd hazard a guess that he has hang ups about his lack of success with women in the past, definitely not a "looker", perhaps a bit shy & awkward - compensated by a heightened educational intelligence, which he uses as a crutch to feel superior to those that in other aspects he might feel belittled by ? Maybe his relationship with Tanya gave him an inflated sense of sexual confidence after years of being a wallflower.

I'm no psychologist :waitasec: just offering up an armchair opinion.

The arrogance might come from spending a long time pursuing his fetish without ever being caught out.

Have you got video enhancement software Kingfisher? I can only see blurry outline of a man with glasses dressed in dark clothing who is taller than Joanna; I don't think that you can say anything more than that tbh.

No and my eyes are not that good either Taught at art schoool that the eye decieves, but not in this case. The videos on utube are much clearer I wonder if they will now allow these back on line, no reason not to I would have thought, unless.....?

My favourite pictures of her are the one where she seems to be blowing bubbles (at a wedding, I think) - she seems to be so relaxed and having such a good time -, and the one with the cat, which shows her in her home environment.

I am so sad that she is no longer here to enjoy life, that such an awful thing happened to her.

Just picked this up (BIB below) from todays Daily Mail coverage of the case - by home made videos do they mean that they are 'sex tapes" and VT filmed himself, of him & TM or VT with prostitutes perhaps ?

The term "home-made" does not seem like lazy journalism or a mistaken use of a phrase, it is very specific.

In the weeks after the murder, Tabak searched 'Jo Yeates' on Google minutes before viewing several home-made sex videos.

Just re-watched and although some people have said the coat/jacket is a different length, it looks the same to me.

I agree it looks very much like him, insofar as one can tell on such poor quality footage, but as I mentioned earlier - it can't be - we would have been told by now.

You might have to just lay this theory to rest kingfisher :banghead: frustrating I know :crazy:

I saw that, we shall wait & see if there is indeed a link to CL, I won't be surprised by other further revelations of some kind.

I would like to see the Waitrose issue cleared up, once and for all. There's maybe some poor devil out there who is being scrutined on a minute by minute basis by amateur sleuths :waitasec:

At least some saw through his facade, quiet but dangerous he certainly was, saw no difference between right and wrong, a classic sociopath/ psychopath.

Hope he gets a dose of his own medicine in prison, the predator has now become the prey. He'll be looking over his shoulder for the next twenty or more years, as the old prison joke goes he'd better be careful not to drop his soap in the shower .

And back to Vincent Tabak's Express interview, where he told us that;

“I wasn’t here on the night she went missing, I was away and I don’t know anyone who saw or heard anything. It’s very upsetting that something like this has happened. This is a nice, safe, friendly area. The feeling around here is not a nice one now, it’s as if the area has been blighted by what happened. We are all very sad about it, and although I didn’t know Miss Yeates, I am deeply saddened by what happened.”

I found that very strange, because when people talk about a murder in their neighbourhood, they usually emphasise their connection to both victim and event in order to be better able to express their sympathies with the victim's family and friends. Here however, Tabak psychologically distances himself from both victim (I didn’t know Miss Yeates) and the event (I wasn’t here on the night she went missing). He depersonalises the victim by referring to her as "Miss Yeates", and he expresses his discomfort at her murder in terms of how the "area has been blighted", rather than it terms of how it's blighted the lives of her family and friends.

As far as I'm concerned, that is a sociopath talking right there.

Now it should be appreciated that I am not a psychatrist, and so that was very much an amateur diagnosis, but it convinced me that A&SC had got the right man when they charged Tabak. And whatever doubts that I might have had regarding this diagnosis were quite dispelled by the trial. All the things that don't make sense about Tabak's testimony, make sense when you realise that he's a sociopath; someone who doesn't understand other people's emotional reactions, and has no emotional reactions of his own.

The one thing that I did get very wrong was that I thought that he was a common-or-garden sociopath who had just blundered into a situation that he didn't know how to handle. I know realise that he is in fact a really dangerous little f...., err person.

We may not have heard the last of VT.

This case reminds me somewhat of Dennis Rader. His m.o. was to lie in wait in his victim's house before strangulation and subsequent sexual release. Photographic mementos were taken and he had a large stash of personally drawn asphyxiation and "women in peril" material. For all intents and purposes a happily married family man and pillar of the community. He tripped up by believing LE's assertions that they could not track his computer from a floppy disc he was subsequently wanting to post to them.

He got so cocky he even murdered one of his female neighbours and removed her body to a different deposition site.

The neighbour wasn't his first kill though.

VT is coming out of this trial much more dangerous than I had imagined.

Right back at the beginning of the trial, there were reports of legal argument over a document which the judge did not allow to be used in evidence because it might result in a "great injustice". I wonder what it was.

Kingfisher - At the very beginning of the video the man picks something up, turns around and puts it in his cart. The second he see Jo, he looks right & left, then abandons the cart & walks out of the store.

I do believe it is him. Jo sparks something in him, he recognizes her & can't continue shopping. He's in an excited state. He now knows that she didn't leave with Greg (which, IIRC, CJ encountered VT coming home on his bike & told him Greg needs jumper cables).
Perhaps he's looking around the store for Greg, thinking Greg didn't leave after all. Maybe VT goes to the parking lot and waits to see if Jo comes out alone.

Seeing she is alone, he then rushes home to plan his evening.
