First thing that jumps out is how close the estate is to the Wear, what was he doing there? If there with friends, drinking etc I'd hope they are checking the docks as I fear that's where he'll be found.

Sadly, today we have found a body, however at this time no formal identification has been made.

Kieran’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this devastating time.

This is an incredibly tragic update and one we were hoping we would never have to deliver.

First and foremost, our thoughts remain with Kieran’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We will continue to offer them support and once again ask that their privacy is respected while the investigation continues.

Secondly, we urge anyone with information who has yet to get in touch with us to do so.

Heartbreaking! I didn’t quite expect any foul play to be involved.

I came across a rather interesting study regarding missing people in the UK the other day but it was published almost 20 years ago, in 2003: https://www.york.ac.uk/inst/spru/research/pdf/lostFromView.pdf

Thought to share it for anyone interested, anyway.

Foul play (neither accidents) weren’t really among the most common reasons for people going missing back then but I’m afraid the statistics may be slightly different nowadays :(

⚠️
Please could we also request that people avoid any speculation about the case, both in the community and on social media, which could impact the ongoing court proceedings."

I was on the Metro yesterday and saw half a dozen various Police vehicles parked in the area referenced as where his body was found. I'm not sure if it was related but maybe they were looking for more evidence.
