The 37-year-old was last seen leaving a home in the Bede Street area of Roker, Sunderland at about 1am on Sunday, May 23.

His family said they became concerned after he failed to turn up for work and since then he hasn't been in contact with his loved ones.

"We just want him to let us know he’s safe so we can all stop worrying – we are always here if he needs help.

Ky Parker, 37, was last seen around 1am on Sunday, May 23 leaving his home on Bede Street in Roker.

Following his disappearance, his family have been appealing for information on social media to help find the father who is originally from Wallsend.

Ky’s partner Charley Louise Smith said his disappearance is ‘very out of character’ and he seemed ‘absolutely fine’ in the days before he went missing.

Charley said: “We are all extremely worried but we’re staying positive and everyone has been so supportive in helping with the search parties.

"I miss him so much, we all miss and love him so much and we just want him to get in touch to let us know he’s safe.”

The 37-year-old dad, who works at Costa Coffee did not return to work last Sunday, May 23 and hasn’t been seen or heard from since then.

Charley added: “He's a loud, chatty, fun guy and the whole family miss him, he usually contacts somebody so it’s really out of character.”

A search party of around 70 to 100 people was also launched last night, May 28 which was organised by Ky’s brother Jay Parker and sister Polly Parker to try and locate the missing dad.

Polly said: “We set up grid references so everyone searched different areas and reported back with updates but we had no luck – Myself and a few friends carried on searching through the night until 6.30 this morning.

"His disappearance is very unusual because he’s a very social and friendly guy, he hasn’t done anything like this before. There were so many people helping in the search and it doesn’t surprise me because he’s a really popular person.”

Officers leading the search for missing Sunderland man Ky Parker have today issued a fresh appeal for information to the public.

Searches have been ongoing since the early hours of Sunday (May 23) when the 37-year-old was reported missing by his family.

Ky was last seen leaving an address in the Bede Street area of the city about 1am on that day but has not been seen since.

A team of officers have been carrying out a wide range of enquiries ever since Ky was reported missing in a bid to track his movements and locate him.

Those enquiries have since led police to establish his likely route on the morning in question – with a man matching his description seen walking along the riverside path that goes past the National Glass Centre towards the Wearmouth Bridge between 1.30am and 2.30am.

Police are now focusing their search around that location – and have urged anybody who was out walking between those times in that area on Sunday morning in that area to come forward.

Inspector Louise Mcclennan, of Northumbria Police, said: “It is always an awful time for any family when a loved one goes missing from home and we are continuing to work with them to locate Ky safe and well.

“We appealed earlier in the week for anyone with information about Ky’s whereabouts to get in touch but sadly he has still not been located.

“We have trawled through hours of CCTV footage to track his movements and believe we have now identified a man who matches his description walking along the coastal path on Sunday morning between the Glass Centre and the Wearmouth Bridge.

“We are continuing to carry out enquiries in and around that location. Our dedicated Marine Unit are also carrying out water searches along the River Wear in the event that he may have come to harm.

“We would like to thank Ky’s family and the public who have supported our search throughout this week and helped to spread the word far and wide on social media. We are continuing to use every tactic at our disposal in a bid to locate him.

“Finding Kyle remains a priority and we will do all we can to hopefully bring this search to a positive resolution.”

Ky is described as a white male, 5’9 of slim build with short brown hair and stubble. He is believed to be wearing jeans and a leather jacket. He also has a distinctive tattoo on his hand of the TARDIS police phone box from Doctor Who.

CCTV of last sighting of missing Ky Parker gives clues of which direction he took as police continue search

I hate that he's been sighted on CCTV near the near water. The fact they don't seem to have picked him up anywhere else on CCTV is concerning... I would assume the businesses along Roker seafront would have cameras. Also there's the marina, and surely there'll be CCTV around there.

I really hope he's just gone off for a while to clear his head.
