Hi, as previously mentioned I provided TVP with a series of photographs I took of the East and west side of the lake at 3pm on 13th February. At that time it shows work going on dismantling the larger fairground structures. They were not, as advertised in the Bowl, but were on the large expanse of grass that is between the Pavilion Bridge and the Hotel. right next to the pathway around the lake. The location where we were told the phone was switched off.
On 20th February my photos of the sonar search via Rib, show the fairground was completely gone. This seems to throw doubt on the advertised dates although I suppose they could be operating in Northampton while still dismantling in Milton Keynes.
And replying to a previous comment. Yes they did bring in a number of rescue dogs about a week after 14th. TVP and dog teams etc congregated in the Hotel Car Parks.
My concern has been the large number of empty houses owned as holiday or investment homes including at least 5 I mentioned to officers who visited us, and I saw no evidence any were entered or if TVP attempted to contact the owners. Little did I know about number 2.
For me it’s all about what lessons TVP,Media and some WS members can learn from this case.

Re the empty houses. I’m in another part of MK but brought this up when the awful news first emerged, there are so, so many by me also. I mean this is a super rare case but there are many houses ‘empty’ with multiple people having access, this can’t be exclusive to MK. So here is hoping it’s noted as a learning for the wider good in future.
I will say, when the recent electoral role updates were posted out all that was required from the holiday home occupants was to confirm as such (fact as I completed this for a couple of them myself), whereas all permanent residents of the property are required to list every name of every person at that address.
Maybe this is something that needs to be changed whereby without adding the ability to vote this database could capture details of semi-perminant residents details and people with access to the property regularly.
Sounds simple but probably not so. But otherwise it seems as though there are many people in and out of many many houses without trace

The large number of empty houses is something locals have known about and I agree with your point about the TVP's diligence in reaching all owners. Sadly, would this have saved Leah? It certainly would have saved the family a great deal of strife. I am aware of the large social media call for people on her walking route to check lofts, garages and sheds that the No2 owners may never have heard.

Can you provide the link to where the police say her phone was turned off?
Is it even known if she took that route home?
We know she did not walk that way on the previous days and the police have stringers working within the fair. The initial reports say she turned off her GPS settings and arrived at home as planned.

I will try to locate it. From memory Samsung helped. Wise Owl and Holly Hunter might have a more sophisticated filing/search system than me.

Cheers. Her cell carrier most certainly gave info but I dont believe the results were ever published.

If the Telltubby hill sightings for that week are trusted then Leah walked directly down Loxbeare Drive and not towards the Sports Pavillion/Fairground.
The day before she could have easily been walking past the pub, on her way home from work, while she turned off her GPS but still arrived him on time. In either case, and coupled with the police presence, this renders the fairgorund as a non-starter for me.

Hi,

This is the link from the MK Citizen which reports when the location settings on Leah's phone were switched off on 14 February 2019:

'5.45pm. Leah walks home from work. Strangely, the location settings on her Samsung phone were switched off in the Furzton Lake area. Nobody knows why. It could be that she was downloading another app that disabled them. But the mobile phone company has confirmed Leah had never turned off her location settings before.'

Also from the MK Citizen is the link which reports when Leah's phoned was switched off at the northern end of Furzton lake, near to the Premier Inn on 15 February 2019:

'CCTV lost contact with Leah somewhere along the mile-long stretch between Buzzacott Lane in Furzton and Furzton Lake, and her phone was switched off or disconnected at exactly 8.34am at the northern end of Furzton Lake, close to the Premier Inn Hotel.'

Cheers, I have these. I also cannot unsee most of the other parts of these articles. lol
Any police confirmation?

The Loxbeare Drive house seems to be within the tollorance for pinpointing a cell phone, so this may be a moot discussion.
Soz if it is.

Thanks Wise Owl it’s your last Paragraph I was recalling. It and lots of other possible siting May all be incorrect and misleading for us and TVP.

I understand what you are referring to @LINEOFDUTY.

IMO the report of Leah's phone being disconnected at the northern end of Furzton Lake, near to the Premier Inn, was not the actual location of where Leah was last potentially known to have been, but the location of the mast that picked up the phone's last signal.

As you are local to the area, can you confirm if there is a phone mast at the northern end of the lake that is near to the Premier Inn?

TIA

The mast is in the middle of the roundabout on Watling St and Chaffron Way. This is the north/east corner of the lake.

Thanks for replying @lilmystery.

So it would appear that the report was referring to the mast when it said that Leah's phone was disconnected at the northern end of Furzton lake, near to the Premier Inn hotel. I had mistakenly interpreted this report literally, thinking that Leah's last known location was near to the Premier Inn, not realizing it was the last connection to the mast that was being referred to.

In 2020 the TVP reported that they had narrowed down Leah's disappearance in MK to a single square mile, is this the area covered by the mast on the roundabout at Watling Way/Chaffron Way do you know?

The mast covers a larger area than the square mile in all diretions and it looks like the police imposed logic to define the area, rather than rely on cell data. The police hired specialist divers to search a couple areas not within the square mile , but within the mast coverage, after possible sightings and before they released this diagram.

It was assumed that she walked Loxbeare on the 14th ( as she walked it on the 12th & 13th) but was not seen on Farrady Drive CCTV on the day she vanished. This may have made them expand the area even though the probablilty was very low that she travelled that route. May have been the lack of CCTV around the lake itself that also prompted the call for witnesses?

Does anyone else feel a bit like Leah has been forgotten again?? There's been no updates for weeks. I'm sorry but the police announcement of NM being their only suspect does not in anyway tie up this case. Leah's friend's & family and the public have a right to know the truth!

•Why was maxwell able to work in MK seeming undetected by police despite them "actively" looking for him?
• Why was he even out free walking the streets after committing numerous sexual offences?
•Why did police not look more closely at Loxbeare drive when she never appeared on cctv further along this route?
•Where is Leah's phone?
•Where is Maxwell phone?
•Was he the ONLY person with keys and access to that house?
• Why did police not look more into that house when no one answered the door twice??.
•Why did the police try to convince the public Leah had ran away when there was no evidence of this whatsoever?

There are other questions I have but will not include them out of respect for Leah's family.

I did not know Leah but I think about her everyday. She deserves justice and her family and the public deserve answers.

I kinda agree with most of this even though the answers about the failings are obvious and should not all be attributed to the police.
To add, he was the only person with access at the time she disappeared and there were very clear reasons why she may have disappeared on purpose at the beginning.

Have you considered what the family think?

I started following this case as Leah and I share the same name. It really was a shambles at the start with what had happened. Had she run off with someone? Had she just runaway? Was she killed by a secret BF? It became pretty clear, well to me anyways, that something bad had occurred. I always thought she was killed by someone she was acquainted with. Surely there should be some evidence linking Maxwell. Anyone could have been in that house, especially if it was known to be empty. Maxwell as the perp does make sense, but I want the proof please.

If Maxwell hadn't of committed suicide it's quite possible he would still be travelling around assaulting young girls/women or he may have even progressed onto becoming a serial killer! I'm not blaming the police entirely but I do think there needs to be a bit more transparency as to what went wrong with the investigation in the beginning and what can be done differently in the future.

And yes I have considered the family which is why I said out of respect I would not state other questions regarding Leah because some answers only they should know (or not know if they wish).

NM may now be dead but that doesn't stop this happening again in the future with a different offender. If he was working self employed how would he be be paid cash in hand if owner was abroad? It can't be easy to set up a bank account under a fake name/identity? If he was using his real name then how did he stay under police radar?

So as women we now have to be careful walking to work in the morning, as well as not going out late at night, or not go out alone, or for a walk during the day because if the worst happens and you disappear it's likely the police might think you just ran away?

re Runnaway: The family felt she ran away in the first instance and this what I meant by 'have you condidered what the family think'. Appeals, social media posts and statements in the first two weeks support this. Just last Friday another teenager went missing and turned up early this week.

I agree with you about Maxwell he was definatley exculating and believe the amount of victims may never be known. The police silence is deafening but we cant inject too much speculation until they support thier suspicions with evidence.

Statistically, men are more likely to be murdered but this does not stop the daily threat all women suffer.

Do you have a link anywhere that states leahs family thought she had run away I was always under the impression they felt her disappearance was extremely out of character. (Not trying to be argumentative just genuinely curious if I have missed that info somewhere).

And yes that's all I'm saying, as a member of the public and in the public interest I would like to understand their suspicions and evidence. But the longer it goes on and there is this wall of silence will only provoke further unnecessary speculation as to why the police seem to be so tight lipped on what happened.
