Not necessarily, in Hull its quite common to travel in the front of a private hire taxi. I always do so if im a lone passenger, i would feel rude sitting in the back. I would only sit in the back if i had husband/children with me.

I tend to sit in the front when alone too. I get travel sick though so I'm first to hop in the front even if I'm with friends or family.

If PR told Libby he was a taxi driver, wouldn’t she get in the back seat? I can’t really see in the cctv if she’s resisting or not, but surely PR would’ve put her on the back seat too if she was unsteady/drunk instead of the front

I think the fact that he opened the door to the front of the car was telling in itself. Yes, the back door would have been the usual option. Having had experience of dodgy taxi driver myself, they opened the front door as I walked over to the cab and I just got in without thinking it odd. It then gave them the ‘proximity’ they needed. Unfortunately.

No, I don’t think he was an unofficial taxi driver that night. However, for abduction he would have to get her in the car under false pretences of some kind. Be it - I’ll just give you a lift him (knowing that wasn’t what he intended from the start) or under some other lie - I’m a taxi waiting, do you need a lift? Personally, I think she tried to walk past him up The road and he intercepted her into his car. Perhaps he already scared her in the minutes preceding and she was in a freeze of fear moment rather than fight or flight. IMO

I don't think she'd have accepted a lift under the pretence of him being a taxi.
If whoever coerced her into the car under false pretences rather than some sort of force, be it verbal or physical. I think it would have been something along the lines of keeping her warm.
'I live round the corner from you, you can sit in my car and wait for your friends to get home (assuming she had no key)'
'I'll take you to the Welly, ask the bouncers to grab you some keys off a friend'

It's all assuming she had no keys but there may be any other number of reasons why she chose not to go into her home.

Regards the "trespassing" as a lot of the addresses were local could he be the type who had socialised with locals / students in the area ...could the stolen undies / vibrators / photos etc have been a case of being at a house party or at friends and had gone through their knickers drawers ?

She was freezing , likely very drunk and tumbling around .. I'd say its possible she hit the point where she was desperate for help ...and the word taxi may just have given her the confidence to accept

Exactly. We do know that she made no attempt to approach her front door, so IF she had no keys she must have known that while she was in the taxi. In which case the obvious thing would be to ask the taxi driver to go back, and ask the doormen to send a friend out.

I don't think we know exactly where they had been drinking earlier on, but if it was a pub she might have decided to go back there. Could be there were people in there who weren't going on to the club. Or she might have decided to go and get some food.

However, she was drunk so it's difficult to know how confused she was.

Possibly. But, if that was the case would anyone bother to report it? My guess is that it was more than that, there had to be an element more sinister than that scenario to warrant a report of burglary. What do you think? I’m not sure I’d bother calling the police in the former situation, you’d have to be a bit more frightened about it.

You have made a good point here. We only know where she stopped in her journey (the bench) what we don’t know is where she was intending to get to on her walk, might have been much further down Beverley Rd.
