WTF! Not the brightest penny in the box...

Mohammed El-Abboud, 26, and Kusai Al-Jundi, 23, are accused of murdering Louise Kam, a pensioner who was last seen by a relative near Spires Shopping Centre in Barnet, north west London.

Both men indicated a plea of not guilty through their solicitors, Willesden Magistrates' Court was told today.

Police issued a missing person's appeal last week before charging two men with her murder.

El-Abboud, from East Barnet, appeared in the dock today wearing a grey prison-issue tracksuit and a silver stud in his left ear and was helped by an Arabic interpreter.

Al-Jundi, from Harrow, north west London, appeared separately from the co-defendant, and also wore a grey prison-issue tracksuit in the dock.

District Judge Denis Brennan said: 'That is the matter that, as you know, it can only be tried at the Central Criminal Court. I can't deal with bail at all.

'You [the defendants] will be remanded in custody to appear at the Central Criminal Court on August 4 where that court will consider the ball position.

'The plea and trial preparation hearing will be on the 27 August.'

They both put in pleas of not guilty.

How does one of them (seemingly a Romanian national) account for access to the car on July 27 that is posted on his FB?

This looks like a carjacking perhaps gone wrong - or at least, it looks like he was trying to quickly make a few grand on it. Had they followed her from Barnet? Or just checked her out in Willesden? Small, elderly lady on her own driving a nice, smart car, easy target. Maybe she fought and... well, we don't know yet, but seems nothing good.

Man, this is heartbreaking. Why couldn’t they just steal the woman’s car and leave her be? They clearly had her overpowered. Such a shame that these monsters find it ok to just murder someone over greed. MOO. RIP Ms. Kam!

I grew up in Barnet, regularly visiting The Spires with my friends without parents from age 10/11. It's a very safe middle class area, this is very unusual!

Would someone kindly use the Report feature to let us know if this deceased person is officially identified as Louise.

We don't change the thread title unless there is a positive ID.

Thanks !!

How does one of them (seemingly a Romanian national)

Correction: He is Lebanese, having lived in Romania. How long he had lived in London or was just here on a visit or temporarily, I don't know.

From FB, he had made earlier visits here from Bucharest, and returned this last time in May.

I am curious to hear what went on here.

Had they been out that day looking for an easy target to steal a car, or was it just a random op? Where had they followed her from - home, Chipping Barnet or Willesden? One of them lives in the Barnet borough so perhaps they saw car in The Spires parking area? And how did this happen, in broad daylight without anyone seeing? If she was apprehended getting out of car or in it, they would have likely been after getting the keys off her, so you think she would have struggled, screamed. Did they then bundle her in car alive and kill en route?

Surely must have bought the car and was selling it on because it's only 24 hrs after the last sighting eh

I don't get your meaning? Are you inferring this might be the suspect's plea: not guilty, not involved, bought the car 'off an unknown person'?
