The tiny coffin, dressed in a light, multicoloured shroud, was carried into St John's Church, in Birkdale, near Southport - the church where she was baptised - on the shoulders of four men.

This morning, Elsie's family paid tribute to their 'amazing and truly unforgettable' daughter ahead of her funeral.

At her funeral today, her teachers and classmates spoke of a girl who made 'everybody laugh' and always had the 'prettiest socks'.

The coffin was carried from the church by pallbearers wearing Taylor Swift bracelets, while the trembling voice of a lone singer recited Love Story - one of Elsie's favourite songs.

"Councillors will hold an extraordinary meeting later to address the impact of the Southport stabbings on the Merseyside town.

The Sefton Council meeting will also be an opportunity for the area’s elected representatives to formally offer condolences to the families affected, and to thank the emergency services.

The meeting will be the first time councillors have convened since the killings and will take place before the official full council meeting.

It will also include a statement from the mayor of Sefton and will acknowledge the bravery and help offered by members of the general public – not only during the stabbing but also in supporting people and communities afterwards."

"The Princess of Wales spoke about meeting with the families of those who died in the attack with the emergency responders involved on the day.

She said:
'I can’t underestimate how grateful they all are for the support you provided on the day.
On behalf of them, thank you'.

The Royal couple told emergency workers it was emotional what people went through and Prince William stated
'that's the North West way'
coming together with a thumbs up."

Families with children are posing for photos outside the family home of the teenager accused of killing three little girls at a Southport dance class.

Cars are driving down slowly and turning around, people are having their photos taken outside [Axel Rudakubana’s] house, people come walking down with their dogs acting as if they’ve gone the wrong way. People have even been seen getting off the bus and walking down here to have a look.

Now, three weeks after police left the scene, it has been claimed officers left bags of rubbish in the garden of the accused's house and rotten food strewn across the land at the back of the house.

Friday October 25, will see Axel Rudakubana back in Liverpool Crown Court for a plea hearing, with a trial date of January 20, 2025, set during his first appearance on August 1.

What on earth is wrong with people?

The teenager accused of the stabbing murders of three young girls in Southport has been charged with producing the poison ricin and possessing a military study of an Al Qaeda training manual.

Axel Rudakubana, 18, has been charged with production of a biological toxin contrary to section 1 of the Biological Weapons Act 1974.

He has also been charged with possessing a PDF document of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing to or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

The accused will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

“Ricin is a highly potent toxin which naturally occurs in castor beans. If it is ingested it can cause nausea, diarrhoea, and aches and pains within 18 to 24 hours. If the dose is big enough, ricin can be deadly - causing fatal damage to the heart and blood vessels, and fluid in the lungs within 36 to 72 hours.

Joining the briefing was Professor Tim Atkins from the Defence Science Technology Laboratory, which is part of the Ministry of Justice.

He said that as little as 0.5 milligrams of ricin can be lethal to humans if it is inhaled”

Southport attack suspect charged over 'Al Qaeda terror PDF and making poison'

Very odd (imo) that his parents or close family, friends didn’t noticed that he completely seemed to be radicalisided.

The additional charges are:

1. Production of a biological toxin, namely ricin, contrary to Section 1 of the Biological Weapons Act 1974.

2. Possessing information, namely a PDF file entitled “Military Studies in the Jihad Against the Tyrants: The Al-Qaeda Training Manual” of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

We are determined to deliver justice in this case, and as such we remind all concerned that criminal proceedings against Axel Rudakubana are live and that he has a right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there is no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.

Notes to editors

  • In relation to the two additional charges, Axel Rudakubana will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court at 10am on Wednesday 30 October.

There's no suggestion he was radicalised. The police have been unable to find a motive, which is why the incident has not been classed as a terrorism (which does require a motive to be etablished). Possessing a manual produced by a terrorist group does not necessarily mean you're affliliated with that group, only that you want access to the information in it.

But he was not just reading literature. He made ricin and murdered little girls.
In my opinion he is a terrorist.
