The police have given a clear and detailed description of what Nicola looks like, what she was wearing etc from the start.

The crime room will be at the police station.
No not from the start ,they got it wrong "ankle length '

What would make you get up off a bench and leave your phone and dog harness etc behind?
If you thought you would get wet your coat and keys would have stayed behind.
If there was a person in a boat or canoe asking for help to land it this may encourage you to the rivers edge? They ask NB to grab a rope for instance. This would explain leaving certain items behind.

Looking at the swimming video, the small path at the side of the bench looks very well worn. That appears to run parallel to the tow path but would be far more discreet.

We really need the police to share some information and stop the speculation. I appreciate they have NB’s family to protect but are they still worrying about hindering a conviction?
Are you referring to a track down to the right from the bench walking downstream on the waters edge beneath and parallel to the towpath? Could you walk to the weir here and under the bridge following the river out the otherside of the village?

I questioned that before in earlier threads and was told you have to go up to cross the main road in order to get to the other side. You can’t go under the bridge AFAIK.

Been following since first thread. My mind has gone from accident to foul play back to accident and so forth. Just when I am convinced that NB did have a tragic accident, a snippet of info comes out and it’s just enough to stir my mind again. I can definitely see how the police are being pulled in all different directions! Hope they find something soon, I cannot imagine what her little girls are feeling.
I did wonder if the police pulled back as they felt someone was trying to manipulate ht emedia soemhow. But maybe it's jus that it all gets so sensationalistic it becomes hard to conduct an investigation with loads of weirdos taking selfies turning up.

I'm genuinely concerned for Nicola, I'm just hoping the distractions, if that's what they are, haven't lost the police vital time in finding Nicola before something bad happened. It's been such an impossible task.

People keep debating a third party. If something criminal is involved here, I think there is at Least one other party involved. So single person could have made this happen. Its slickness implies collusion, or a willing departue that turned into something else. Has someone threatened Nicola's family, so she went instead? Is that too dramatic?

Some people are being selectively silent. All the points Paul Ansell makes are true: an outside person would have to have entered and left the scene without being detected, so they must be local - or it's perhaps someone else, who met Nicola at the road?

If there are other possibilities I can't think of any right now. I have thought Nicola could have had some other sort of accident? She runs after the dog and then a hit-and-run conceals the body, then someone ties up the dog separately? Whya re there apparently no forensics whatsoever? Anywhere? I find that really hard to believe.

The flow of traffic is so high on the road at 9/9:30 it seemed difficult to imagine her being bundled into a car. If Nicola didn't have an accident, I can only think my deception theory is correct. She wouldn't have abandoned her dog or her fmaily that way so she must have been deceived to go somewhere willingly somehow. And then - something else.

See, now I'm going back to the residential areas and the campsites. Any temporary parks. Who knew she was there on the walk and on a call, distracted? Or, if she left voluntarily, IF she did - was the call a good opportunity for her to go wherever it was she has gone?

I'm assuming the telephony intel they talk about the phone being located on the bench was through the chat on the Teams call? Did Nicola let people know the call was on speakerphone and that info would have been part of the silent chat you have during these calls?

She had said to a friend it was an important call, and her partner Paul said he morning was very orderly and 'different' - was she nervous for reason that wasn't just to do with business? It must have been vital to have been on time for the call and she was signed in at 9:01. They would have known where she was by her telling them when she'd logged in perhaps?

Increasingly I lean towards two possibilites: i) Someone planned to make her disappear, knowing she would be there at that time on a call and on a walk ii) She planned to go, and used the call as an opportunity to leave - but I say this advisedly as she may have been under duress or receiving threats we don't know about.

The third possibility is that she encountered some accident and is somewhere unchecked.

Those are all the possibilities I can think of.

I've often lost phones, leads and harnesses on my country side dog walks from bending down. Other walkers tend to put them where they might be seen, which might not necessarily be the exact place where they were lost. So on or near a bench is an obvious place to leave them to be found.
I've also had the scenario where my dog (bigger than Willow) ran up and shoved me from behind at the rivers edge and I fell in head over heels. I was with someone else who helped me out. My dog was shocked and ran around barking. I climbed out the bank.

Definitely not tatty looking. Especially for Mr PF. :)

Who was flying the R44 heli? I do hope this was inserted using Photoshop or a full risk assessment was carried out. Looks a bit low to me. Colin McRae watch out !

I'm writing this to flag the mods to add a date to this thread: NB disappeared Jan. 27, 2023.

ie, it's now been officially over two weeks since she went missing.

IMO, at this point, the urgency of the search has died down. They have likely thoroughly investigated every reasonable avenue of inquiry, eg the river, cameras, witnesses, her background, her friends and family. IMO, until or unless new clues or leads show up, I predict this case will slowly wind down.

In my opinion the PA blackeye is curious, it was mentioned in the last thread. Was there a reason given for this?

I also pontificate that the increase in NB work meetings and contacts etc related to work, may prove significant.
Me too .. I’m pretty sure that will be the case. I actually don’t even think this will turn out to be a local

Reading the latest update from Lancashire Police yesterday, I wonder if they have not provided any further updates today because they don't want to drive more speculation following the influx of people who turned up to the scene where NB's belongings were found.
Maybe. Also, news stories tend to be slower on the weekend. I expect it will all ramp up again by Monday afternoon.

You said the police didn’t give any description of the clothes she was wearing, or a direct phone number or have a crime room.

They provided a description of both Nicola and her clothes and asked people to phone 101 giving a log number, which would take you through to the incident room and 999 if you had just seen her.
The crime room will be at the police station.

So, they did do what you said they didn’t.

There’s a lot of people officers and other agencies involved in trying to find Nicola. They’re all doing their best. Paul Ansell praised the police in his recent interview.

That is the path absolutely. My guess would be it reaches the weir. Perhaps the lead etc were actually closer to this path and not the main one?

Maybe the only hat within reach that morning, NB gave to PA.

It was cold. I would think she would have worn a hat.
I think she was intending to meet someone on the walk. Possibly. Related to her work. It’s a hunch.
What backs this up?
More organised that morning
Was feeling upbeat
No hat … looked her best
Nothing makes sense
Something is different than usual for this to happen

Just a theory I’m mulling over
